Not an emotional eater but I just LOVE food. worried.
When we eat past the point of moderate fullness, when we eat when we are not physically hungry -- that's head hunger. Cal it what you'd like hun -- but head hunger is the same thing as emotional eating. We got fat because we OVERate. Blessings to you! WeeWers

60 and over question
Are you getting the kind of compliments you were hoping for? I'm pre-op -- so it doesn't apply to me :o) WeeWers

Question for the younger than 60's who post here?
Hi Youngin's, I'd love to know why you young people come to a group specifically created for people 60 and over? What you get out of it when there are so many places to post that aren't age specific -- or a group that is specifically for your own age? Is it our sage wisdom? <tee-hee> Not saying "go-away" -- just wondering what you get out of it ) WeeWers

The look
Brandy, consider the source here. Are these unconditionally loving, affirming, caring, unselfish people?? Oh, there not? Well then, why the *heck* would you give these people the power to define you?? If you were going to pick a human being to define your worth and value -- how about picking someone like Mother Theresa? For me, I don't let *any* human being define me -- only Jesus -- and He is crazy about me!! God is proud of you Brandy! warmly, WeeWers

Did any of you have doubts pre-surgery when you saw pics and videos of the loose skin left after weight loss?
Hi Kaj, Yes, this is my greatest fear. I know it's better to be thin & healthy and to have lose skin -- but I was so hoping that I might be able to look a little pretty once again. Thinking that with the amount of lose skin I'll have at my weight (305) and age (60 in 2 months) I fear that I'll look like a thin, healthy *hag*!! Oh, me and my pity party!! WeeWers

Tell us about your pet -- and pics!
WeeWers here: Sadly, we don't have one. I have not been able to get over our Aussie who died 11 years ago. Tucker was ten, being his using playful self, and then the very next day -- he was lying on the floor, unable to get up, bleeding from his mouth. I'm crying as I write. I don't think I could take the loss of losing another dog. It still just tears me up. On a happier note, I'll bet lots of you have a beloved pet/s that you can tell us about -- and hopefully show us some pics!! warmly, WeeWers

Who is pre-op and who is post op?
Karpo, So far you and I seem to be the only pre-oppers. I'm a month or 2 out as well. The wait is hard but when I read on the post-op boards -- and so *many* people are having a *terrible* time after surgery, I'm feeling a bit nervous. warmly, WeeWers

Who is pre-op and who is post op?
Chaparra, You look great for being in your 60's <tee-hee> WeeWers

Who is pre-op and who is post op?
Lisha, What a great attitude you have about the slow start. It's mathematically impossible for you to have such a drastic reduction in calories -- and not lose all the weight you want. I'm routing for you! warmly, WeeWers

Who is pre-op and who is post op?
MystiGal, Why do you have a large incision on your tummy? Didn't your doc do your surg laprascopacly? It sounds like you are doing well other than that. Wow, to be 6 days post-op <sigh> from a pre-opper

Getting through a stall (per Caspanelli)
WeeWers here: Caspanelli asked what are ways we get through a stall. Being pre-op I'm of no knowledge here. I *do* know I think it would be quite devastating -- especially if it went on more that a few days. I would immediately think I was doing something to cause the stall! Stalls sound AWFUL !!

Charlotte residents, should I change from Dr. Pirello to Dr. Heider?
Thank you for the reply Hopester!

Charlotte residents, should I change from Dr. Pirello to Dr. Heider?
Dr. Pirello has all my records in, but all could be faxed to Dr. Heider. I keep hearing that folks think highly of Dr. Pirello, but he was *very* rude to me, and cold. I think it must be me and that he just doesn't like me for some reason. I'm concerned he won't do as good a job with me as he has with others. I've heard Dr. Heider is *very* warm and friendly. Would you change? worried, WeeWers

Who is pre-op and who is post op?
And if you are post-op, can you share your status? (how long ago surg. how much have you lost, any complication?

Just think what our group would be like if we each posted
WeeWers here: I counted 30 members in our cozy little group. What do you think would happen if each of us posted just one question or statement!! Our group would fly!!! Are you up for it? warmly, WeeWers

Failing Before I'v Even Started
WeeWers here. Please forgive me for posting in the post-ops when I haven't had my surgery, but I did not think pre-oppers would know about this as well as you guys. Thank you. My surgeon told me I had to lose 19 pounds before my surg. Well, I haven't been doing this well at all !! I'm thinking this is for-shadow of how I'll do sticking to the sleeve diet. I'm scared to death and feel like *such* a failure !! I'm such a wealing when it comes to being able to diet. I know they weigh you the morning of the surg -- and so my surgeon will see that I didn't comply. He could call the whole thing right then and there! Did any of you have to lose weight before your surg -- and you did lousy? Did your failure continue after surg? I'm thinking of canceling the surg because I don't think I can stick to anything! btw, I'm 5-6 and weigh 305 pounds. Hows that for a life. Thanks for listening, WeeWers

Calling All Sixties!
Hi Cheryl! Gee, I *wish* I could walk for 15 minutes. At home I have to use a walker, and if we go ouy, I'm in a wheel chair. 15 minutes is great -- don't overtax those knees. How much weight is your total amount you wanted to lose? warmly, WeeWers

Calling All Sixties!
Karen353, Yes! You are doing great. What is the total amount of pounds you want to lose? warmly, WeeWers

Calling All Sixties!
Mokee, Do know why you aren't losing the way you would like? How is your carb intake? Plenty of Protein? I'v read in The Big Book that it's protein first, then veggies, then a bit of fruit -- with the idea that by the time you eat your veggies -- you'll have no room for the fruit. Let us know how you are doing -- we all care about you here. warmly, WeeWers

Calling All Sixties!
Posted Today, 8:47 AM Hi, I'm here and almost sixty. Have you had your surgery yet? Where are you from and who's your doctor? Hope to see many responders to this thread. Hi Group, To answer these questions, I haven't had my surg yet. I'm from Charlotte and Dr. Pirello is my surgeon. Good surgeon I've heard -- but very cold. How about everyone else?? warmly, WeeWers
