I wake up very nauseous. I go throughout the day nauseous. I'm on Zofrin for the nausea from my primary care doc, and called my sleeve doc to tell about the nausea, and he perscribed Phenergan -- which helps some with the nausea but puts me to sleep.< /p>
Am I alone with this constant nausea? Do other folks deal with this??
Any input VERY appreciated!
Blessings,

Do most folks experience nausea after surgery? If so, what helped you. I'm having my sleeve in the morning. Quite nervous over here!

I'm being sleeved in the morning. I saw that several people were also having September surgeries.
I was looking forward to fellow-shipping with other Septemberites, so I posted that I would like to be.
I was told the "group was closed"! I'm wondering whose decision it was to make a closed group. Do you mind coming forth so we can talk and I can understand?
Close a group?? I thought this forum would be welcoming, not rejecting (
Are there any other September sleepers who are not in this exclusionary group?
sadly,

Your nutritionist knows alot more about what is and isn't ok to eat at any phase. How about asking her )

Oh dear-heart, I'm in the same position you are in and my surgery is this Monday!! I posted something similar to what you did and I got one response that helped. PJ said that after the surgery we will want different things, that a certain hormone is reduced (or removed?) which should help with the hunger.
If any of us didn't have a problem with over-eating, and eating the wrong things, we wouldn't need this surgery.
Your post was very vulnerable and I'll bet you get alot of supportive replies -- don't let judgemental posts get you down. Don't even respond to them.
You will do well. Keep your eye on the ball and expect good things.

Is there a way for the September Folks to stay current with each other? I mean, do you have to just pick through the posts -- or is there a centralized communication that folks can do?

I think you're fine. I would try to follow the pre-op diet as close as possible; but, I'm sure you're not the only one to make a slip. I do not believe you're setting yourself up to fail post-op. After surgery, I'm thinking you will not want that stuff anymore anyway. Many doctors put patients on a strict liquid diet pre-op. But mine lets me eat small breakfast, Protein shake lunch and a decent dinner with lean meat and green vegetable. So, I think you're fine.
Thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. You epitimize what this forum should be all about.

There was a lady who has a coffee shop who wanted to start a Charlotte support group. Does anyone know who she is?

Hello Jersy Girl,
I think if you go back and re-read my post -- you will see that I was NOT asking people to tell me it's ok not to follow their docs orders.
That was quite a leap.

Hello,
I hope I'm posting this at the right place. My surgery is this Monday (16th) and I need to lose 155 pounds. I'm hoping to find a mentor who has lost a lot of weight and is at goal. I want to learn from you, and maybe lean on you a bit if I get a bit shaky.
The area you live in doesn't matter.
I can't *wait* to have a mentor!!!

Hello All,
My doc wanted me to do a 3 week pre-op liquid diet. I feel shame and discouragement that that means I'll do poorly post op -- and not do well losing the weight!
Has anyone ever done well losing weight who did poorly on the pre-op diet?
Thank you,

Thanks everyone! I love reading your responses! Im starting at 290 at 5'3" and I'd loveeeeee to get down to 130. My nutritionist said its never going to happen. He's a jerk though, and very against surgery.
I'm just nervous that no matter how strict I am I won't lose it, but you all give me hope!!
Hey Jessica, you said that you think "no matter how strict you are you're not going to lose it"
Can I swear at this site!!!!! Boy would I love to have about 30 minutes with your idiotic, uneducated, arrogant, LYING nutritionist!!
Mam, I'm so fuming -- I need to go!

For those of you who have been successful at breaking a stall, will you please say (quite specifically please) what you did to break the stall?
You are the ones who have things to teach the rest of us!

Way to go! What an inspiration you are. You ought to post what you are eating and how much exercise you do.

Oh please post what you ate/drank during the past 3 months. Also the type and amount of exercise.

Even though I agree with most of what you said.......everyone's journey is different. Sometimes it takes people longer to understand what they have/should do regarding eating. I don't judge anyone for this reason.
I agree. There a kind way to express your thoughts, and an inflammatory way,
Saying:
Seriously, you can't fix stupid
is inflammatory and sounds like someone with a chip on their shoulder. We are here to build each other up -- not judge.

Janice,
I hope you can find the support here you want. This forum has answered a zillion questions for me. You just have a very unique situation that we may not understand. But you have been very clear in answering the questions.
Good Luck!

The sleeve helps us eat less -- but since over-eating was not the issue for you -- can you share why you got the sleeve since it restricts the amount of food you eat -- but that's the issue for you?
I'm sorry that you inherited morbid obesity from your parents. Just doesn't seem fair
Bless you Janice,

Does It Always Have To Be That Way?
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
Hello,
I was sleeved 7 weeks ago and have been losing slowly but steadily. I have read several topics that say the further out one is from their surgery -- the more difficult it is to stick to it. That the newness wears off and after awhile you are just left with old ingrained habits that get more difficult to manage as time goes on.
This is very scarey to me. I had thought that the physical restriction of having the small stomach would insure long-term sucess. But I read many others where this is not the case. Will power is still required. I have lost 40 pounds but have always had terrible will-power. This surgery was/is my last hope. I was over 300 pounds. My cardiologist said I was a heart-attack waiting to happen. I could not make it up a flight of stairs.
Does it always get harder the further out you are from your surgery?
Blessings,
WeeWers
