  1. Hello There, I'm 59 years young and am so happy to have found this group. I hope this group includes folks who are almost out of their 50's too. My name is WeeWers and I weigh 300 pounds. I'm 5-6 and my goal is 140. We are paying for this out of pocket (exclusion with our insurance that I signed). My big concern is how I'm going to look at goal. I have seen lots of before and after photos of older folks who lost *a lot* of weight -- and they look thin -- but they also look terrible! Skin is hanging everywhere! At our age, the skin does not have the elasticity it once did. So the skin just hangs !!! Since we are paying out of pocket, it will take us a long time to save up for plastic surgeries. My breasts already hang down to almost my navel, and my tummy hangs down mid thigh. Man, I'm tearing as I write this. Have any of you thought about this. Especially the ones who can't have plastic surgery right away. I know many (most maybe) plastic surgeons make you wait a year before they will operate. I'm wanting some encouragement so very much -- but facts are facts -- my skin is just gonna hang. I'll bet the answer is just being grateful that the weight is off. Maybe that's the only solution. Thank you for listening, WeeWers
  2. Hey Jessica, you said that you think "no matter how strict you are you're not going to lose it" Can I swear at this site!!!!! Boy would I love to have about 30 minutes with your idiotic, uneducated, arrogant, LYING nutritionist!! Mam, I'm so fuming -- I need to go!
  3. I've heard it really helps to prevent leaks. WeeWers
  4. For those of you who have been successful at breaking a stall, will you please say (quite specifically please) what you did to break the stall? You are the ones who have things to teach the rest of us! WeeWers
  5. Oh please post what you ate/drank during the past 3 months. Also the type and amount of exercise. WeeWers
  6. I agree. There a kind way to express your thoughts, and an inflammatory way, Saying: Seriously, you can't fix stupid is inflammatory and sounds like someone with a chip on their shoulder. We are here to build each other up -- not judge. WeeWers
  7. Janice, I hope you can find the support here you want. This forum has answered a zillion questions for me. You just have a very unique situation that we may not understand. But you have been very clear in answering the questions. Good Luck! WeeWers
  8. The sleeve helps us eat less -- but since over-eating was not the issue for you -- can you share why you got the sleeve since it restricts the amount of food you eat -- but that's the issue for you? I'm sorry that you inherited morbid obesity from your parents. Just doesn't seem fair Bless you Janice, WeeWers
  9. Janice, Non critical question here. Just wondering since you didn't over-eat -- do you know why you got over-weight? Blessings, WeeWers
  10. WeeWers here: I would really like to know how y'all do it. Thank you in advance WeeWers
  11. Laura Ven, So even after your shake, you still don't need to keep it cool? WeeWers Thank you for the replies -- wow, 6 repies for such a little question!!
  12. When we eat past the point of moderate fullness, when we eat when we are not physically hungry -- that's head hunger. Cal it what you'd like hun -- but head hunger is the same thing as emotional eating. We got fat because we OVERate. Blessings to you! WeeWers
  13. Hi Youngin's, I'd love to know why you young people come to a group specifically created for people 60 and over? What you get out of it when there are so many places to post that aren't age specific -- or a group that is specifically for your own age? Is it our sage wisdom? <tee-hee> Not saying "go-away" -- just wondering what you get out of it ) WeeWers
  14. WeeWers

    WOW!

WeeWers here: We have quite a few members here that look sooooooooooooooo much younger than 60's! Tell us, ho *do* you do it? Plastic surgery? WeeWers

    The look

Brandy, consider the source here. Are these unconditionally loving, affirming, caring, unselfish people?? Oh, there not? Well then, why the *heck* would you give these people the power to define you?? If you were going to pick a human being to define your worth and value -- how about picking someone like Mother Theresa? For me, I don't let *any* human being define me -- only Jesus -- and He is crazy about me!! God is proud of you Brandy! warmly, WeeWers
  16. Hi Kaj, Yes, this is my greatest fear. I know it's better to be thin & healthy and to have lose skin -- but I was so hoping that I might be able to look a little pretty once again. Thinking that with the amount of lose skin I'll have at my weight (305) and age (60 in 2 months) I fear that I'll look like a thin, healthy *hag*!! Oh, me and my pity party!! WeeWers
  17. Karpo, So far you and I seem to be the only pre-oppers. I'm a month or 2 out as well. The wait is hard but when I read on the post-op boards -- and so *many* people are having a *terrible* time after surgery, I'm feeling a bit nervous. warmly, WeeWers
  18. Chaparra, You look great for being in your 60's <tee-hee> WeeWers
  19. Lisha, What a great attitude you have about the slow start. It's mathematically impossible for you to have such a drastic reduction in calories -- and not lose all the weight you want. I'm routing for you! warmly, WeeWers
  20. MystiGal, Why do you have a large incision on your tummy? Didn't your doc do your surg laprascopacly? It sounds like you are doing well other than that. Wow, to be 6 days post-op <sigh> from a pre-opper
  21. WeeWers here: I counted 30 members in our cozy little group. What do you think would happen if each of us posted just one question or statement!! Our group would fly!!! Are you up for it? warmly, WeeWers
  22. WeeWers here. Please forgive me for posting in the post-ops when I haven't had my surgery, but I did not think pre-oppers would know about this as well as you guys. Thank you. My surgeon told me I had to lose 19 pounds before my surg. Well, I haven't been doing this well at all !! I'm thinking this is for-shadow of how I'll do sticking to the sleeve diet. I'm scared to death and feel like *such* a failure !! I'm such a wealing when it comes to being able to diet. I know they weigh you the morning of the surg -- and so my surgeon will see that I didn't comply. He could call the whole thing right then and there! Did any of you have to lose weight before your surg -- and you did lousy? Did your failure continue after surg? I'm thinking of canceling the surg because I don't think I can stick to anything! btw, I'm 5-6 and weigh 305 pounds. Hows that for a life. Thanks for listening, WeeWers

    Calling All Sixties!

Hi Cheryl! Gee, I *wish* I could walk for 15 minutes. At home I have to use a walker, and if we go ouy, I'm in a wheel chair. 15 minutes is great -- don't overtax those knees. How much weight is your total amount you wanted to lose? warmly, WeeWers
