  1. Uh, BMI does matter 100%, because not all heights are "obese" at a BMI of 30. Some people would be "underweight". All I simply did was point out her inconsistencies. She indictes she is 5'6" preop weight 201, and BMI was 53. At my calculations a BMI of 53 at 5'6" would be a preop weight of 330lbs not 201lbs. Now, I don't mind helping someone, ever, but when someone blatently provides inaccurate information that skews the help. So whether or not you want to look at preop postop weight or BMI, something isn't right. I have no corums calling a spade a spade and I am extremely direct. Thats the logical brain.

    Any Colorado sleevers?

Wow yay finally Colorado sleevers!!! I have to ask, does anyone eat green chili? Hatch or Pueblo? My favorite breakfast is steamed red potatos, slow cooker beans, home made tortillas, and green chilli gravy style. Has anyone been able to get the chilli to agree with their sleeves?

    420?

Wow, some people on here don't understand What cannabis is. I'm in Colorado and I was one of the first patients. Cannabis did not make me gain weight. It's an appetite suppressant if using the correct strains. I prefer the CBD strains of Sativas. It's uplifting, reduces appetite, helps tremendously with my PTSD and migraines and sacroliliitis, chronic muscle spasms and endometrial cancer pain. I was strait up with my surgeon because not only is it medical here but rec legal too. So I had to quit ahead of time to pass a UA. Now that I think of it, I'm pretty certain that if I could medicate it would help far more with the gas, bloating, cramps and general pain. Obviously I cannot take the edibles anymore but I am anxiously waiting till I can smoke again. And yes there are ways to smoke without coughing such as an ice bong. There's also hash, ear wax, caviar, etc and many growers can harvest easily less harsh medicine. Mmj cured my husbands liver cancer and it cured my aunts Alzheimer's and it cured my cousins kidney Dysfunction.

You and I are definitely on the same page :-) I don't let them have soda either. My 14 year old made a nice healthy meal if baked Italian dressing chicken and steamed broccoli, carrots and zucchini last night for her sister and dad. I couldn't have any but know what they need to do.

Diana you're absolutely right. And one of the first questions the surgeon, nutritionist and psychologist all asked is "do you have enough time to prepare your own meals". It doesn't have to be extravagant. Kids are very appreciative when they are taught to be. I'm certain your babies don't throw a fit cause they didn't get McDonald's today right? Right! :-)

Oh and the meat in taco bells meat is not FDA approved. There was a major lawsuit last year, look it up.

My kids beg for McDonald's and Burger King prior to surgery and now. Doesn't mean I give them what they want. I'm the mom, the adult and I say what they eat. Currently they are both healthy and slim.

Um, I'm sorry but that doesn't sound rights their paycheck and success depend on you. To be honest, I've never heard of a medical professional tell someone to seek non professional medical advice. My surgeon gave me a full 12 month diet post op (I'm 6 days out) and it does not include non FDA approved foods filled with preservatives and fillers! Good G** why do you want meat that is not even FDA approved? Can you not make your own tacos, burritos and quesadillas? Remember this is a lifestyle change, not a quick easy way out. Beauty is pain, so no pain no gain!

I agree, but it's kind of one of those things. If someone else is going to shell out money for you, you got to do what they want. I go to school on 3 full ride scholarships and I have to jump through hoops all the time. It sucks, but the question is how bad do you want/need it? I get nearly $30,000 per school year (fall/spring) in scholarships. No income and tuition/fees alone cost $15k. Money I don't have. My surgery cost nearly $40,000, again money I don't have.

Also your medical records should reflect 6 separate records of the visit, the dates and times. They should not be "notes" but rather records and clinical summaries.

If your insurance is paying then they require "supervised weight loss attempt" without prescriptions. The actual goal is to lose little weight and do not gain weight. I have 2 insurances, one only requires 3 months while the other requires 6 months. Some people's don't pay at all and some require 12 months. I would strongly discourage you from contacting your insurance because they have the final say on whether or not they approve you and if you start a fire they can deny you. All they want to see is supervised weight loss attempt. Since wls is expensive they want to see you actually try under a doctors supervision to attempt to lose weight and not just get an expensive surgery they have to pay. The thing is, some people are successful with this. My cousin was. She went through all qualifications but lost so much weight seeing a nutritionist and supervised doctor visits that she lost over 60lbs and no longer qualified.
