Thanks! I'm so excited I want to shout it from the rooftops, but then I remember I haven't told anyone other than hubs and BFF... So I'm really glad to be a part of this forum where I can share my excitement! -

What do you do when your coordinator is avoiding you?
SLF1027 replied to NotLookinBack's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Send a thank you card with a gift card for dinner or a fruit bouquet or something. That will bump you up to the top of the list no matter how busy she is. Sometimes people need a little motivation to do their job as effeciently as they should. -

I will be following your challenge very closely! I am very interested to see if a raw vegan diet is at all possible post sleeve. Good luck and I hope you feel great!

I'm mostly a lurker on these boards, rarely posting anything. But I've read all of your posts and I was pretty bummed out for you when you posted that your surgery was off. Logging on today, I was so happy to this great news. Good luck with your procedure and congratulations!

That's really awesome, what a wonderful milestone in your journey. You're a great singer! -
Hi from Houston, Tx. Please know that, as I get ready for bed tonight, you are in my thoughts and prayers. You may be alone in your hospital room, but you are surrounded in spirit with love and compassion. Your daughter is as well. And though she won't remember the night mommy had to stay at the hospital, she will remember all the things you'll be able to do with her after you've recovered. I wish you a night of rest and a morning of renewed hope. (And I know this might be corny as all get out, but it is the truth and I sincerely mean it Ps- I am figuring out how to PM you in case you need to talk.

Help! I am trying to add you all to MFP on the iPhone app and I can't figure it out! I just logged onto the web page as well, and just like on my phone my only options are: INVITE FRIENDS FROM FACEBOOK INVITE FRIENDS BY EMAIL INVITE CONTACTS (phone option only) Im not seeing an option to find people by screen name. Can anyone help me? Surely I'm missing some very easy step! -
A huge congrats to you and the entire community. So glad that you now have the same rights as the rest of us, just as it should be!

Pre Op Liquids 1 week or 2
SLF1027 replied to Autumnrain1908's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc requires 2wks full liquid totaling 600-800 calories a day, not to exceed 50g net carb. -
I will love myself today. I will give myself a compliment each time I pass a mirror... JK!! Not those kinds of affirmations! Actually, my decision to not tell anyone about the surgery was totally affirmed today. I decided to share it with my boss since I will be needing time off and will not be able to go to market this year (I work in the juvenile industry and we go to the huge baby expo in Vegas every year to find new products-- tons of walking, dinners, drinking.... not the kind of thing you want to subject yourself to 3 weeks out from surgery), and guess what the response was?! "You're not doing one of those things where you can only wat like a spoonful at time are you? That's so drastic. Are you sure that's the best thing to do? You know it doesn't always work, I mean look at that one girl. Where was she from? Oh yeah, she was that one singers daughter, maybe she was a singer herself. She did that and she gained all that back. Can't you just do something less drastic? Have you tried everything. I mean, I know you've tried harder than anyone I know to lose weight, but.............." On and on and on. I kid you not. At 26 minutes, it was the longest non-work related call I've ever had with her. So that was the blaring, bright red "RIGHT CHOICE" sign I needed. Also, today I finished the last of the tests and paperwork I need for insurance approval! My app goes to insurance on Monday and then the waiting game. Wish me luck! Have a great weekend everyone

I went through the same thing this week. But I tried this today and IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM: "Hey Ms. Laney, I'm not seeing that your fax came through, but I've been having lots of issues today with orders coming through anyway. You mind if I just hold while you fax it so I can make sure I get it?" I got the fax (5 years of past weigh-ins from PCP) and sent it over to surgeons office. That was the last step in my insurance requirements! Now I'm just waiting for approval!
