  1. I have to start my pre-op liquid diet 8/27 as well. Kinda freaking out a little too! What are you guidelines for liquids?
  2. My surg is 9/11 and I had my EGD on 7/26 as well!

    Short lived

An Angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth. And whispered as she closed the book "too beautiful for earth."
  4. I am in Houston, TX. Having surgery about 15 minutes from my house! Hearing your journey is so long, it makes me very grateful that I get to stay close to home. I had almost decided on Mexico because my copay alone is $5000, but I my doctor said he would just charge me $1800 of that! So very fortunate.

    Houston tx?

Haha. This little thread has turned into a TLC topic... Good to find so many others using the same practice as I am!

    Houston tx?

  7. That's awesome Heather!! Only 42 days left! I'll friend you when I get home (can't do it from my phone)! It will be nice to have someone to compare experiences with.
  8. I downloaded a countdown counter today on my phone. 43 days until 9/11!!

    Houston tx?

I would really appreciate some feedback on UGH after your procedure! This is where I'm going and I can't hardly find any information or photos or anything. I've had one person tell me it was really nice and another tell me it was awful. Eye of the beholder I guess!

    Journey just starting!

Hope your EGD went well! What are you doing to prep for surgery? Anything yet? I feel like I'm starting to freak out a little about not having enough time to prepare!

    Houston tx?

I just replied to another post you made, but I am also in Houston and having my procedure with Dr. Scarborough at TLC. I've talked to a couple of people who were short if not rude, definitely left me with the feeling that I wasn't a priority. But when it matters, that staff is on top of their game. I had my EGD (last insurance requirement) July 18th and on July 19th I got a call from the office letting me know my application was submitted for insurance approval. Based on my experience, I would recommend them. (My procedure is scheduled for 9/11.)

    Journey just starting!

Congrats on your decision! I am pre-op, surgery scheduled for 9/11. I, too, am nervous and anxious, but when I have any concerns at all I turn to the wonderful people on this forum. If not for VST I'd be a wreck with wonder and worry of what's to come. So my best advice would be to take advantage of all of the knowledge and experience you'll find here! Good luck on your journey
  13. You look amazing! Wtg!

    Constipation

Not one person has recommended an enema?! They really work! Just lukewarm, filtered water is all you need. You can get an enema bag at at the pharmacy for $10.

    Houston-SETX Sleevers?!

At which hospital did you have your procedure? Do you go to any groups for support? I haven't found many on that side of town, just the one near 1960/45.

Thanks for kkeping up your posts! Keep up the good work
  22. I feel like I have to start preparing now. I am ordering all my vitamins today, starting an exercise video and preparing to eat 5 times a day (which is a completely new concept for me!). Are you all starting to prep for surgery and post-op life already? If so, what are you doing? Which items are you picking up so that you'll be a little more prepared?
  23. OMGosh! It's really happening! I cannot believe I just received that call. My husband was also approved for DS. I will hear next week from the office manager to schedule my procedure which I am planning for September (new deductible year) for me and November/December for hubs. So EXCITED!!!!
