tell me about your 50 ponds lost?

As of today I have lost 50.2 pounds! I am 6.5 weeks post-op. I now weigh 299.8 and am soooo happy to be under 300! Never again will I see that number again. It has been easy for me so far because I still have so much restriction, but I know that will soon change. I joined cardio kickboxing and will be starting that in two weeks!

    Happy Birthday to me!

Happy Birthday to you! Today is my birthday as well! And the best present of all: I stepped on the scale and 299.8!! 50.2 lbs lost since surgery and the first time I've been under 300 in years!
  4. I'm six weeks out as well and I can eat 3/4c no problem.

    Chewables make me so nauseous!

I'm 6 weeks post op and have tried so many different vitamins. The chewable a from celebrate and bariatric advantage make me vomit. I've tried orange, berry something and vanilla. My doctor moved me to capsules at 2 weeks because of the vomiting and still the same thing! I'm taking celebrate Multi capsules and each time I swallow one I know to grAb my pink puke tray. It's to the point where I skip them most times because I don't want to throw up. My NUT suggested I open and mix them with food, but any way I put them into my body, they come back up. It's so frustrating!!!
  6. I would also suggest you ask what after-care and follow-up care they offer. Do they have a support group meeting you can attend, how often will you have follow-op appts, etc.
  7. Ease update when you can! We are worried about you out here in the VST community!

    Newbie Here!

Hi Rach! Welcome! I don't have any pics yet, but I'm two weeks post op today. The last time I weighed was at my two-week pre-op appt (so four weeks ago) and since then I have lost 31lb. My hospital stay was two days and I was able to start walking about 8 hours after surgery. I was in a lot of gas pain when I woke up and my belly seemed to be pulling on my incisions. I told the nurse ad she got me an abdominal binder which helped A LOT! I'm still wearing it now, actually. I'm still sore, tough to bend, sit down and stand up but otherwise doing well. I started puréed foods today and the few things I've tried have all gone down just fine. Heading back to work tomorrow! If you have any questions along the way, feel free to MSG me. Good luck!

2/3 of the way to goal

    Amazing progress! Congrats!
  10. Sleeved on 9/11, exactly two weeks ago. EXTREMELY HAPPY with TLC and Dr. Scarborough. Even better is University General Hospital on Fanin. That hospital has 70 beds and very patient-oriented care. Amazing hospital.

    Journey just starting!

I am doing well. Still very sore, unable to bend or lift anything and I get very tired easily. But luckily no complications and NO PROBLEM getting all my water in. The only thing I didn't expect is to have food cravings so soon! I'm still on liquids for another week, the two weeks of puréed and then two weeks of soft foods... Already I want junk: burgers and fries, pizza, sweets. I guess it's going to be a much harder struggle to change my ways than I originally anticipated!

    95lbs gone!

You look great! I know I'll NEVER have such a nicely shaped back side, but I can only wish to be as shapely as you are!! Great job!
  13. Hot mama! You really look amazing!
  14. Weight gain is due to all of the fluids they pump into you at hospital.
  15. On my way to the hospital! ...oh wait. Hubs forgot his cell phone. On the way back home! Hopefully I'll make it on time! Feeling anxious, nervous and HUNGRY! Usually I would be stuffing my face with sweets when feeling this abnormal. No more!
  16. Packing my bag now! About to go to bed so that i can be up and on my way in 5 and a half hours! Good luck and successful procedure to all!
  17. unjury Chocolate Splendor and chicken Soup flavor are really great. Also Chile Iced Coffee and Mocha Decaf have helped get me through my 2 wk pre-op!
  18. I have been using the chocolate fudge EAS CarbControl shakes from Sam's. I've drank them for years in place of breakfast but after this two weeks (liquids started Aug. 26 for me), I can't stand them. I also ordered about 30 different flavor samples and brands from Nashua Nutrition and Unjury. My favorites from Nashua: Syntrax Double Stuffed Cookie and Vanilla Bean Torte. The strawberry kiwi, orange, and other 'kool-aid' types taste just like jello water, hated those. But the BEST I have tried has been the UNJURY! They are soooo good! I ordered 2 tubs of the Chocolate Splendor, 2 tubs of vanilla and 2 tubs of Chicken Soup flavor. They are really good. Highly recommend! Oh, my husband picked up some 'Pure Protein Vanilla Creme' RTD's (in aluminum bottles) from Walmart. They are pretty good, the only RTD vanilla I have ever liked. Downside is they are $7.98 for a 4 pack. That's a little much for me!
  19. Wednesday and I'm right there with ya :/
  20. Surgery is 5 days away, Sept 11! Last night I fell off the liquid wagon HARD! I ate some chips, 2 pcs of toffee and 6 gummy bears. I can't believe I did it, and I was so upset afterward. I've been doing so well otherwise, not sure what happened. It makes me doubt I am mentally prepared ready for this. Of course I'm full steam today, but the slip up keeps haunting me! Today is my last day off work until surgery day so I'm trying to get organized and the house clean. Next day off I'll be leaving my house at 3:45AM so that I can be at the hospital by 4:30!
