Margie122 got a reaction from 2goldengirl in Dreaming... about clothes
As soon as the clothes started to not fit I purged my closet. I looked at them and put anything that was still in good condition in a pile to be donated. Anything that was ripped or torn/stained (and probably should've been tossed long ago) I tossed. I had TONS of clothes to donate. I went through my closet, my bureau's, and anywhere else I had clothes.
I did wear stuff until I absolutely had to buy new clothes. Luckily (?) for me I had clothes in my closet that I could wear going down sizes. I did supplement with some new(newish) things.
I have been really choosy about what I'm letting into my wardrobe. Because I am not at goal and would like to lose another 24+ lbs, I am not going crazy with buying clothes. I have splurged and bought myself some new T-shirts from Life Is Good, and some new pajamas. I also bought some jeans, all new underwear, a couple of bra's, and socks.
I need to go through and purge my wardrobe again. I just don't need as many clothes as I thought. I like the idea of eventually getting a capsule wardrobe for work.
I also refuse to pay full price for stuff and one of the biggest benefits of being smaller is that I can find stuff on sale! Before - at size 22/22W the only things usually left on sale were fugly (to me anyway!). I am amazed at the cute things I can find now.

Margie122 got a reaction from Miss Mac in Good party, but I wind up feeling bad....
You can't control everything that goes on at a party. If your niece and her husband left angry and are truly angry about something they should talk to you. It sounds like your son might be jealous of his mom dating?
Families are tough. Good for you for recognizing that you can't talk about it right now because you are on the defensive.

I second @@Sophie74656 - don't buy a ton of stuff pre-op because your taste buds may change. I didn't believe it....didn't think it would happen to me. Had a Protein shake I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and when I drank it post-op??!!! BLECH!!!!
The other thing I did to keep my sanity - I only weighed at the doctors office for the first two months. Your body is going to want to "stall" about 3-4 weeks out and if you weigh yourself daily or even weekly and don't see a loss a lot of people freak out and think the surgery was a failure. It's not! You can search "3 week stall" and you will see it's normal.
    Best of luck!

Margie122 got a reaction from nieuwevis in Going back to school
I was on the bus home the other day and when we passed the high school I saw that they had a sign for Bay Path University. I've been wanting to go back to school and get my Bachelors (I have my Associate Degree) so I looked it up. They have a campus at the high school for their "One Day A Week" college. I talked to one of the Admission's peeps today and I filled out the online application. I even completed the financial aid paperwork, but I know I won't qualify. Luckily my work will reimburse me up to $6,000 a year for classes (as long as I get a "C" or better). The school even has a "deferred payment" program knowing that most jobs won't pay until after you get your grades.
I'm going to start in September. I'm excited. I haven't been this excited since finding out my surgery was approved.

I submitted all my transcripts to the College. You need 120 credits for a Bachelors. I was given 78 credits for my prior degree and coursework. I can test out of a computer course for another 3 credits and if I submit add'l transcripts I can get 7 more credits for electives for the designations I received at work. That means I need 32 credits for the degree! That's only 11 courses.....I could be done in a year.....WOO HOO!!!!!!!

I thought I would put in an update for anyone who might be interested or who was following this thread. I lost a total of 4.2lbs after my 5 day liquid reset. I found that I had good restriction yesterday after eating. Last night I had some slow cooker mongolian beef and broccoli and I still had good restriction. I really haven't had strong cravings for anything but last night I did have to talk myself out of having a Peanut Butter Power Crunch bar (I love those things) and instead had a cup of Decaf choc peanut butter coffee. I think it more had to do with habits - watching TV and it was early evening - a time I would typically "like a little something snacky". I've decided that I need to restrict myself to weighing only 1x a week on my designated Monday mornings. I have also realized that I need to ensure that I am getting at least 64oz of Water in a day. The 5 days of liquids wasn't a walk in the park, but it wasn't that difficult either. I would do it again in the future if I needed to.

@@proudgrammy your 5 days are over! Hope you got the results you wanted.

@@proudgrammy I am far from normal! So you had a couple of Protein Bars and some yogurt....no big deal...you are down 2.9lbs that is awesome! I am excited for tomorrow morning. Not Christmas morning as a kid excited but still..excited! I am really hoping to be at 190. That would make me very happy. If I'm not at 190 though I will still be a big girl. No tantrums, no wailing or sobbing.
I promise not to tell anyone you weighed yourself. Your secret is safe with me
No we weren't competing against each other.....but I can honestly say I'm hoping we both do great!
I didn't get a chance to have a nap. That was my only disappointment today. I did score some new cool socks at TJ Maxx and a really pretty swimsuit coverup.
I will post my weigh in tomorrow! Best of luck to you today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
