  1. Yes who will be the $4,000,000th poster? ????
  2. Alex Brecher is there a consolation prize for people who are NOT the 4,000,000'th post who have been here since this was Lap-Band Talk, got rejected for lap-band surgery years ago and who came back and had VSG surgery instead?
  3. Faithp DId you get the chewable Iron supplement at the Bariatric Pal store?
  4. 4 Million Posts is pretty impressive. Be sure to let us know who the 4 Millionth poster was!
  5. Tonight is the epic POWERBALL jackpot of 1.5 BILLION dollars and chances are I'm going to win! You have to feel lucky to be lucky right? Anyway I feel like I've hit the jackpot because I've lost 97 pounds to date. I know I will hit my goal. And if I don't win POWERBALL tonight, maybe this was the 4 MILLIONTH post on bariatric pal and I won all that cool stuff that Alex Brecher was talking about.
  6. It sounds like you are on the mend! Hope you are able to go home soon.
  7. Good morning I was checking the sheet and it says my weight on 1/11 was 207.8 This is a mistake..my original post said my weight was 198.2 Do you think this could be corrected? MANY THANKS! OOPS! I should've read your post above first! Sorry !
  8. I had similar fears. I was 290 when I started, highest weight a few months earlier than that was 295. I was constantly tired, HOT all the time and out of breath at even the slightest activity. My legs rubbed together, and all my clothes felt tight. I lost some decent weight pre-surgery, because I started the process in April of 2015 and didn't have surgery until 8/17. I don't have a lot of vacation time at work, and I had to make the appointments as late in the day as possible. Surgery was 8/17. I went home the next day. I was readmitted the next day because of some complications I had with severe nausea and retching. I was in the hospital another 3 nights, 4 days. Fast forward to now. I've lost almost 92lbs. I am down from a TIGHT size 22W to a 14. I can cross my legs (and I do frequently!) I can "fit" into any seat. I can walk without being out of breath. I am way more active. I'm no longer hot all the time, in fact right now as I'm typing this my feet are cold! IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Even with getting readmitted to the hospital I would do this again in a heartbeat. Was it always EASY??? No. But it was worth it. You can do it.
  9. I can't remember if I was asked to lose 15 or 20lbs. I ended up losing more. I'm pretty sure it was 15lbs...it was about 5% of my current weight at the time I was weighed.
  10. Officially back under 200 for my weekly weigh in today and UNDER 200 is where I'm going to STAY!
  11. So sorry to hear this. I hope you will be well and out of the hospital soon and home with your family.
  12. Congrats! It's a great feeling.
  13. I love PB2. I use it in my chocolate protein shakes. It's fabulous stuff. I buy it online.
  14. So I was pretty close! The scale said I was 196.4lbs 129.3 is lean mass (or 65.8%) 67.1 is fat (or 34.2%) There are some other calculations.... I think it means I can eat 1,637 cal a day and maintain my weight. It said that was my RMR (resting metabolic rate?) It also had a RMR x activity factor....sedentary was 2,030 calories up to 3,389 for very active. I'm going to take this with me to my next appointment to let my bariatric team see the results and go over my goal weight with them. It was a very easy test. I sat inside a big egg and it became pressurized. They did here calculations. They lasted about 45 seconds and I breathed normally. I was wearing a form fitting bathing suit and a swim cap. After each test the guy opened the pod and it was depressurized. I could feel the pressure each time in my ears but it wasn't uncomfortable. I will def do it again to see if I'm on target....maybe in six months.
  15. I have an appointment this morning at a gym (one of only two places here in Massachusetts that has the Bod Pod) to get my body fat analyzed. I want to use the information to help me set a realistic goal weight. This place is huge. They have 6 parking lot attendants to show you where to park. I have no idea what it is like inside but I have never seen a gym so busy. Well it is January and it is Saturday....I bet it won't be so busy in a month! So before I go in I am going to guess what the results might be.... Right now I'm about 198lbs. I'm 5'10" I am going to say that I have 120lbs of lean mass and the rest is fat. Now I need to see how close (or off!) I am. I will post the results after the appointment.
  16. That is awesome! I hope someday soon to be in the same boat
  17. Packing my lunch at night for the next day removes the headache for me of trying to figure out what to have for lunch. There is usually enough of dinner left over that I take that. It's also saving me a TON of money. My work ordered sandwiches from a gourmet sand which shop yesterday and it would've been $15 for a meal that was too heavy, too starchy, and way too many calories. I saw people after lunch who looked like they were going to fall asleep they had stuffed themselves so much. Glad I wasn't one of them!
  18. So I woke up this morning and weighed myself and the scale says 200.2 lbs. I know it's temporary, but it's a bummer! Really need to kick it up a notch and get rid of the 200's forever.
  19. SW 200.2 So unhappy about that....was in Onederland last week....but this is temporary! GW 190 Thanks for running the challenge.
  20. This is my second wardrobe overhaul. Today I went through and got rid of all clothes that were too big. I have another bunch of donations to Goodwill. I also threw away a bag of old stained t-shirts I was hanging on to simply because they fit at one time. My closet is about 25% of what it was when I started. It feels good to donate the clothes in good condition and remove the others. A lot of them were bought simply because they fit...not because I liked them. I have gone from a tight 22W to a size 14 bottom and an XL top. I have no need to keep my "fat" clothes because I know I will never need them again. I am still losing, and I am making clothing purchases only as needed. It's the winter, so the few pairs of black and gray pants I have will get me through for a while. I don't care if I repeat the same bottom in a week at work... Honestly I don't think people care or notice. I have enough blouses so I don't have to repeat in the same week. It will get me by for now. I am looking forward to a new year, a new me, and building a wardrobe that has pieces in it that I love!
  21. I'm sorry you are losing your job. That totally sucks. You are right, the bad guys aren't supposed to win but sometimes they do. It blows. Eating chips and drinking wine are just a temporary fix that might lead to more chips and more wine. I heard chips are a gateway drug for chocolate, cake, and Cookies. Take care of yourself and I am praying that 2016 brings you a better job!
  22. Justin congratulations! It sounds like you are doing very well. I am sure clear liquids will be fun Go slow, and listen to your body.
  23. 198.4 for the final 12/31 weigh in I didn't make my goal of 195, but I made Onederland! Oh and THANK YOU FOR RUNNING THE CHALLENGE! Happy New Year everyone.
  24. Thank you everyone for the kind words. I never want to see a "2" as my first number of my weight again. I will feel more confident of hat once I am in the low 190's ????
