    How sad is this?

I get sucked in too but mostly it's because I feel bad for the people who fall for the hype (like I used to).

    Oh the complications...

It sounds like you are on the mend! Hope you are able to go home soon.
  13. Good morning I was checking the sheet and it says my weight on 1/11 was 207.8 This is a mistake..my original post said my weight was 198.2 Do you think this could be corrected? MANY THANKS! OOPS! I should've read your post above first! Sorry !
  14. I had similar fears. I was 290 when I started, highest weight a few months earlier than that was 295. I was constantly tired, HOT all the time and out of breath at even the slightest activity. My legs rubbed together, and all my clothes felt tight. I lost some decent weight pre-surgery, because I started the process in April of 2015 and didn't have surgery until 8/17. I don't have a lot of vacation time at work, and I had to make the appointments as late in the day as possible. Surgery was 8/17. I went home the next day. I was readmitted the next day because of some complications I had with severe nausea and retching. I was in the hospital another 3 nights, 4 days. Fast forward to now. I've lost almost 92lbs. I am down from a TIGHT size 22W to a 14. I can cross my legs (and I do frequently!) I can "fit" into any seat. I can walk without being out of breath. I am way more active. I'm no longer hot all the time, in fact right now as I'm typing this my feet are cold! IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Even with getting readmitted to the hospital I would do this again in a heartbeat. Was it always EASY??? No. But it was worth it. You can do it.

    PreOp weight loss?

I can't remember if I was asked to lose 15 or 20lbs. I ended up losing more. I'm pretty sure it was 15lbs...it was about 5% of my current weight at the time I was weighed.
  16. Hi, I was going to just post this to the end of my "elusive onederland" thread, but I couldn't figure out how to add the picture? The only way I know how is to start a new thread because it has the "attach file" feature. So my patience paid off and as of today, exactly 39 weeks and 1 day since my first appointment and 19 weeks and 3 days since my surgery I have hit ONEDERLAND! I guess I thought it would be more magical.... Don't get me wrong, it's AWESOME, but I still have more work ahead. I haven't been under 200lbs since I was a TEENAGER and that was a while ago. Thanks everyone for all the encouragement and kind words since starting my journey.

    Elusive Onederland - No more!

Officially back under 200 for my weekly weigh in today and UNDER 200 is where I'm going to STAY!

    Oh the complications...

So sorry to hear this. I hope you will be well and out of the hospital soon and home with your family.
  19. Congrats! It's a great feeling.

    Powdered Peanut butter?

I love PB2. I use it in my chocolate protein shakes. It's fabulous stuff. I buy it online.
  21. I have an appointment this morning at a gym (one of only two places here in Massachusetts that has the Bod Pod) to get my body fat analyzed. I want to use the information to help me set a realistic goal weight. This place is huge. They have 6 parking lot attendants to show you where to park. I have no idea what it is like inside but I have never seen a gym so busy. Well it is January and it is Saturday....I bet it won't be so busy in a month! So before I go in I am going to guess what the results might be.... Right now I'm about 198lbs. I'm 5'10" I am going to say that I have 120lbs of lean mass and the rest is fat. Now I need to see how close (or off!) I am. I will post the results after the appointment.
  22. So I was pretty close! The scale said I was 196.4lbs 129.3 is lean mass (or 65.8%) 67.1 is fat (or 34.2%) There are some other calculations.... I think it means I can eat 1,637 cal a day and maintain my weight. It said that was my RMR (resting metabolic rate?) It also had a RMR x activity factor....sedentary was 2,030 calories up to 3,389 for very active. I'm going to take this with me to my next appointment to let my bariatric team see the results and go over my goal weight with them. It was a very easy test. I sat inside a big egg and it became pressurized. They did here calculations. They lasted about 45 seconds and I breathed normally. I was wearing a form fitting bathing suit and a swim cap. After each test the guy opened the pod and it was depressurized. I could feel the pressure each time in my ears but it wasn't uncomfortable. I will def do it again to see if I'm on target....maybe in six months.

    Pack Your Lunch

Packing my lunch at night for the next day removes the headache for me of trying to figure out what to have for lunch. There is usually enough of dinner left over that I take that. It's also saving me a TON of money. My work ordered sandwiches from a gourmet sand which shop yesterday and it would've been $15 for a meal that was too heavy, too starchy, and way too many calories. I saw people after lunch who looked like they were going to fall asleep they had stuffed themselves so much. Glad I wasn't one of them!
