  1. Hi everyone, I havent been able to post for awhile due to computer issues...Im 3 weeks post op ive lost 25 pounds so far and feel great! I could not of ask for things to go more smoothly than they did after my surgery was up and walking within 4 hours of surgery. I had no pain meds at all after they took the pain pump on the 2nd day and I havent had any issues with keeping foods and liquids down. My Dr. told my son he couldnt of been more pleased with the surgery. I have follow up visit with him on the 29th. Im still not back at work yet my insurance company approved me for 30 days so I took the full time however I would of been fine going back after 2 or even sooner so now Im just enjoying my time off and getting in as much walking as I can......Glad to see how well everyone is doing, Ive got 6 more pounds to lose for the Halloween Challenge.....Good Luck to everyone in the Challenge!

  2. Im on full liquids and I can have small stuff like sugarfree pudding. Im not having any issues except I think im eating more at one time than I should. I can eat a whole pudding cup. Thats a 1/2 cup. I know my stomach is very small, but I dont feel full. Also im having a hard time knowing when im full. So today I decided to just steer clear of the pudding and thicker stuff. Not sure what to do.

Per my nut...anywhere between 2 and 4 oz a time is where we should be at this point, I also am eating a whole pudding cup with a scoop of Protein added so thats apx 30 gr of protein. I like to get the choc pudding and add the vanilla protein...good luck to you!

  3. Well ladies it has been 5 days post op for me......finally returned to my own home and wifi....I weighed myself and I have lost 7 pounds......I was so excited. This is from my surgery weight. I am so glad I made this decision. I am able to eat and so far no issues...good luck to everyone going tomorrow. Remember your on your way

Im glad to hear your doing well! When you say 'eat' what is a daily schedule for you as far as fluids and Protein go?

  4. How did your surgery go? I'm scheduled for the 28th.

It went perfect, I was up and walking with out any help The one thing that amazed me was I wasnt in near as much pain as I thought I would be I know I had the pump and I did use it but I still thought it would be more painful. While in hospital i didnt eat or drink hardly anything at all. been home 4 days now still not where i need to be as liquids go but I will get there, ive noticed i seem to be increasing by about 8 oz a day so today im shooting for 48 oz i get all my Protein within my first 32 oz to make sure i get it all in. I get my tube out on Tuesday and by the way you will or at least I did gain weight due to all the fluids they pump in you I gained 11 pounds while there. ..Good Luck To You!!

  5. My surgery is Tuesday and I am nervous about getting all my Protein and fluids in, how are you doing it?

Im not thats just it LOL Ive only been getting in about 24 oz a day. I know my Dr doesnt expect me to come straight home and be able to go straight to drinking 64 oz a day. While in hospital I only had one bite of Jello, one sip of broth and one sip of crystal light at each feeding and had nothing at all my last meal there I was packing to head home and didnt even touch it! I know it will all come in time and Im not to worried at this point.Oh and by the way the worst part for me was where I had my surgery at they weigh you before you go home I gained 11 pounds while there due to all the fluids in the iv.

  6. I had my surgery on Monday and it wasnt near as bad as i thought it was going to be came home yesterday and slept almost all night. Im only taking pain eds at night so I can get a good nights sleep. getting all my liquids and Protein in is far from where it needs to be but im doing much better than i did while in hospital. One day at at time and I will get there! I hope all my other September sleevers and any other month for that matter are doing well!

  7. I refuse to be "tied down" to my scales. I am pre op and right now I am weighing myself every morning just to make sure I havent gained any..I have a son that lives in the next own over who will come over often I have told him by the time I get home from hospital I want him to hide the scales and when he comes to visit I will weigh myself.....If I do what I am supposed to do its going to come off. It didnt all come on in a day and its surely not coming off in a day I dont want to have the roller coaster ride of the ups and downs after the surgery, you usually gain a little right after from what Ive read and Im not going to let the scales control my life....well thats the plan anyway...LOL

  8. hey, my date is now scheduled for September 11 I'm starting my full liquid diet in the a.m because I didn't know it was suppose to be today I just got home from the doctor and i gained weight since starting this process I am a little disappointed about that, and nervous the doctor said I would be fine I am excited my husband is against the surgery but supportive I only have one more problem I don't have 2 weeks of sick time so its a possibility that my job denies my time off request then I would have to postpone surgery but we will see keep me encouraged I have so many questions. thank you all.

Check on FMLA and does your employer not offer short term as part of your insurance...when I read post like this is makes me think how thankfuIl i am for my insurance. I dont have to use any vacation or sick time, I get short term pay which is about 70% of my regular pay and it starts on day one. I gained about 3 pound since my 1st visit Im worried he will say something I go in for my nut pre op meeting on Wednesday and my Dr pre op on Friday Im only have to do a 2 day liquid but have already started just to get a jump start...best of luck to uou and hopefully no more delays

  9. Sept 16th for me in WV. My Dr only required a 2 day pre op but Im already doing Protein Shakes with just one meal with chicken or turkey burger. Ive already been able to stop bread which was a favorite of mine and have never really been big on soda. Best of luck to each and everyone of you still waiting and a speedy recovery for those who have already had it! "EAT TO LIVE, DONT LIVE TO EAT!"

  10. My info was submitted on Thursday. Aetna approved me the following Monday. Signed my consent forms yesterday and got my surgery date of September 16 today! I'm 5'6 and weigh 240 pounds. How much can I expect to lose within the first 12 weeks? I think I'll be an average to fast loser. That's usually the case. I've never had trouble losing weight but I always have trouble keeping it off. This will be the third time I lose 80+ pounds since 1999, and I hope it's the last!!

My date is also on September 16th and it will be here before we know it...Good Luck to you!
