Why did I do this?
O2BSkinny replied to laura_rose16's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Laura, I don't know your personal situation concerning weight-loss surgery, but I do know that if you qualified for surgery then it's a matter of health. This matter and health is either consciously or unconsciously defined. I see weight-loss surgery as being similar to medicating an acne outbreak. Things tend to get worse before they get better. I know for me personally, after surgery I could not drink Water without becoming nauseous for a month. I cannot swallow my own saliva for close to two months. What I did do is get off my high blood pressure medicine within the first three weeks after surgery. Also, within a matter of 4 1/2 months I had lost a whole person. So, know that there is a Silverlining in this whole matter. You will do great! Remember to look forward without looking back. Embrace the future that you have ahead of you, because it's bright! I'm interested in doing the pre-surgery Protein diet that I did before having the sleeve done. The diet consisted of a Protein shake for Breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, a cup of fruit and for dinner 6 ounces of meat and a vegetable. Is this enough for healthy eating post-surgery? I had surgery at 36 and I was 302 lbs when I started the journey. I am now 172lbs., but 165 lbs is my normal. I tackling holiday weight currently. I had a big stomach and big thighs. Everyone is impressed with my skin. Truth, my tummy and thighs are flabby. I'm have a tummy tuck this summer and my thighs will follow. Don't worry about the extra skin at this point. Respect the process and be true to your sleeve. Own everything you eat or the lack there of and you will be successful.

Any June 2013 Sleevers
O2BSkinny replied to O2BSkinny's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was 159lbs for one day. My normal was 165lbs. Since thanksgiving until June, I got up to 178. I have since lost 9 lbs. My goal is to lose 2lbs a week until I get to 150lbs. -
I was 302 when I started the process. I have the sleeve procedure and this morning I was 169lbs. I have been 159lbs for one day. I gained since last thanksgiving, but I honestly just ate bad. I was 178 in June. I'm getting back on track now. I've lost almost 10 lbs since June.

Impatiently Waiting for the Pounds to Fall Off!
O2BSkinny posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am one year and four months out from the sleeve procedure. Initially, the weight seem to have just fell off. Now, I struggle with weight loss. Thanksgiving of last year, I weighed 165 pounds. I currently weigh 170 pounds. Since last Thanksgiving I had gotten up to 178 pounds. I am a teacher and do not work over the summer and I ate more than I should. Since school has started back I have really been watching my eating and I have lost 8 pounds in about two months. I do not work out like I said, but I plan to get better. I am interested in possibly getting pregnant over Christmas break and want to lose as much as I can prior to pregnancy. I am thinking about going on a proteins shake diet, similar to what I did before surgery. Does anyone recommend this as a method of weight loss? -

My highest weight was 302lbs. I am currently 169lbs. I gained 'school teacher weight' this year. I was 163lbs when school started. I will get it off this summer. I was 159lbs for a day. I don't work out, but I am starting a regiment tomorrow. -
