  1. I was revised 4/30/13. I had the lap band done 10/24/10 and on 4/30/13 I had the band removed and the sleeve done. I'm still going through fears but this site and my nut has helped me so much. You will always have fears but make sure you have a support system in place. The pain is so much less than the band. You will be up much quicker. Just follow the rules in your discharge plans and you will be fine. I will keep you in my prayers. We are all here for you. You are doing this for a better life. Good luck!

  2. Ok I need help. I was sleeved 4/30/13 and I'm on puréed foods. I find it so hard to get all my nutrients in. I was in the hospital for dehydration Thursday. Today I had less than 300 calories. I'm trying to eat the 5 small meals in my diet plan, the 2 Calcium tablets, 3 Multivitamins and the 40-60 grams of Protein Shakes. It's too much for my small tummy. Getting in my Water is hard too. I need help and advice. I eat a little and stay full for hours. I don't want to end up like the other people sick with malnutrition. The tingling sensation I had from my diabetes returned today. I was taken off my metformin and my blood sugar was fine the 1st week of surgery. I'm worrying and feeling like did I make the right choice. I'm so close to my goal weight. It's so bad I was wishing I can get back my stomach lol. Please help.

  3. Well I am on day 3 of pureed foods and I wanted something different so I put together this little meal in my crockpot and puréed it.

    Ingredients:

Boneless and skinless chicken breast (I only used one because I was unsure of how it would turn out)

1 can of carrot slices drained

    Low sodium chicken broth

1 low sodium chicken stock concentrate

*Optional mashed sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes about enough to to thicken once done

If using pouch potatoes use 1 pouch, don't add the Water but add the milk

I added all the ingredients in my crockpot and set it on high ( low if you want to let it go longer while your busy). I cooked in on high for 4 hours. Check to see that the chicken pulls apart without no problem. I added one pouch of sweet mashed potatoes and the 1/2 cup of skim milk. I pureed it all. You can store this in containers or try cooling it off completely. Putting the purée into an ice cube tray. Freeze it. Then put into freezer bags and freeze them. Each time you need one just grab what you need and defrost. Heat it up by microwave.

This was so good my kids loved it. It was something new and different. I hope someone can use it.

  4. I'm on day 7 since my surgery and yesterday at my post op appointment I was bumped up from fluids to puréed foods. On my sheet I can eat puréed watermelon so I don't see why you can't eat it after the sleeve. I love watermelon.

  5. Well it's been a week since I had my revision. I am allowed puréed foods now. I have been introducing them slowly since post op appointment yesterday when I was given permission. Now since the surgery I've been gassy and I keep getting cramps in my tummy. Have anyone else experience the cramps? I know everyone just about gets the gas.

  6. Well I had got the lap band 10/24/10. My biggest weight was 285 pounds. I lost weight throughout having my bad but at a very slow process. Throughout the years I regret getting the lap band. This year in March I was diagnosed with diabetes and my hypertension returned. My doctor and I decided to remove the band and go for a the sleeve. April 30, 2013 I was 202.8 lbs when I had my procedure done. It's now been six days and I just had my post op appointment. Since the surgery this is no sign of the diabetes and I am now 194 lbs. I'm happy with my choice so far. The recovery is so much better than getting the band. This is a long journey to a healthier new life and a new me. I have not been under 200 pounds since I had my 3rd child. This is a blessing. I struggled a little with the liquids and taking in my Protein but I will get better. I even got thrush. These are just little bumps and I will keep you posted with my updates.

  7. I had my sleeve done 6 days ago. I had in put in 10/24/10. It was slow I did lose a lot of weight but I developed diabetes. My band was removed and the sleeve was done the same day. I made the choice march 18th and just had my surgery. I am coping with the liquids and I'm happy that my diabetes are gone as of the surgery. It's your preference but I regret my lap band.
