    Before Surgery

I've been taking pictures once a month. The transformation is amazing to look at!
  2. HT: 5'1" Highest weight: 232 Surgery day weight: 219 Current weight: 167, goal is 132 5 -1/2 months out...the loss is really slowing down now
  3. My BMI was 43.8 when I had my first consult. I was told if I lost more than 22 pounds before surgery, I wouldn't qualify. That would have put me at a BMI of 39.7 so my insurance requirement was a BMI OF 40. Day of surgery I was 41.4
  4. No not at all! I'm so much happier now!

    Eggs!

I tolerated scrambled eggs very well in that stage. Funny thing is, now they make me sick to my stomach and .make me gag. I'm 5 1/2 months out
  6. Ive been too hard on myself lol. The worst I've done is have some Chex cereal and peanut butter.
  7. I take Prevacid, but I break the capsule open and sprinkle the med on some yogurt which I have every morning. In the early days post-op, I thought I was having heartburn, but it turned out to be my Super B Complex. I now take it with a more dense protein later in the day and it doesn't hurt my stomach.

    Hey! I'm new here

I had to go through 6 month supervised weight loss which was an insurance requirement for the surgery. I did so much research in that time and had a lot of great preparation for the surgery by my surgeon, dietitian, psych and exercise coach. I thought I was 100% ready. When I got home from surgery, I felt so lost...like I didn't remember anything! I struggled for the first 2 weeks and had a lot of regrets. I did have a complication of a splenic infarction, but the symptoms resolved after a 2 day admission and I have no ill effects now. The 6 months I had to prepare were very valuable. I can't imagine how much more lost I would have been with only a months notice. Time will fly while going through the process. I still can't believe I'm 5 months post-op already.

    Stall for TWO weeks?

Time will get you out of the stall. Keep following the plan end it will happen. I'm 5-12 months out and still experience stalls and each one is frustrating.

    When does sipping get easier?

Sipping was so hard for me at first. I'm 4-1/2 months out and still can't take a lot of water in at one time. I really miss gulping water! I think I was about 3-4 weeks out when it got better.

    Is it really worth it?

It's worth it! Just follow all the rules and you will be fine.
  15. I would like to post before and after photos and wondered if there was a free, user-friendly photo editor that anyone can recommend.

    Skinny jeans

I tried on a16 and looked pretty decent, but they just aren't my style and I didn't care for the look in general.
  17. It took me almost 4 months to finally feel like I have no regrets.

    I made a mistake

Me too! All I can think of is that would be me if it weren't for the surgery and for that, I'm very grateful. Finally, 4 months out, I now have no regrets. I also notice overweight people even more now.
  19. I'm 4 months out and I seem to be on a yogurt and cheese routine. They go down the best for me.
