    9 mo. post-op (pic)

Haven't had any crawfish this season, but plan on doing so next weekend! You look great, keep up the good work!
  2. I was drinking as much as I wanted, around 3-4 days post-op...scared the heck outta me! Have since learned, everyone is different...some can only take in a small amount of fluids (sip, sip, sip), while others are fortunate enough to tolerate much morE. I had far more restriction when I got to the mushy stage, i.e. the more dense the food, the less intake. I wouldn't be overly concerned, just go with what feels tolerable for you. Good luck...you're in for one heck of a journey!

    23rd Anniversary at Disney

    From the album: pics

I surprised my bride of 23 years, in front of Cindarella's castle. Love the expression on her face! Me - 8 1/2 months post-op at the time, down 106 lbs...a few lbs. under my original goal weight. Her - 6 1/2 months post-op, down 74 lbs. at the time...also a few lbs. under her original goal. We're makin' the most out of our second chance!

    Sex and a new sleeve?

Nothing to be embarrassed about...that's why God made us like he did! My wife and I waited about two weeks and all was okay. Now keep in mind, you won't be using any swings or a trapeze , but by 15/16 days, y'all should be fine. Good luck on your journey!

    Homemade Smoothies ?

Not sure what's allowed, but I was making banana/strawberry/Gladiator powder (vanilla) smoothies 8 weeks out, with no ill effects. I'm now 9 mos. out, 109 lbs. down and 4 lbs. less than my (original) goal...smoothies haven't done me in yet! I would confirm w/your doc or NUT, just to make sure.

    Whaaa!

You'll be there before you know it...you got this!
  12. My wife and I were discussing this very topic last night! I am 9 mos. out (109 lbs. down, at goal weight), she is 7 mos. (76 lbs. down, at goal in my opinion...although she still wants to lose more!)...and we both have no cushion left on our derrieres! In perusing various websites, it looks like the only fix is to do more squats...or get butt cushion implants!

    Home from hospital and....

Runny nose...yep, normal. My wife and I thought we were nuts (Well, she is nuts, but I digress! ), but upon checking it out on this site and talking to others, found it is a common sleeve side effect. Hang on, you're in for one heck of a journey! Godspeed for a quick recovery.

first time in my whole life..

Nothing for the first time, however it has enabled me to do things I was able to do when I was younger. I love getting a second chance...a do-over! Good luck on your run tomorrow Forrest!

So, that's pretty cool, I guess....

    Congratulations! Awesome progress!

    Working out!

I started walking two days post op, albeit short distances. After about 2 weeks, I was walking and biking for 30-40 minutes a day. Added swimming as soon as the wounds healed (think it was at 8 weeks or so, can't remember). Wasn't cleared for weights until about 16 weeks and then it was moderate, nothing too strenuous. At 20 weeks, I started hitting the weights aggressively and haven't looked back!

    Married Couple getting sleeved together?

My surgery was May 8, 2013 and my wife's was July 8th. As mentioned previously, this allowed her to take care of me and me to reciprocate. While my recovery was no problem, my wife had a tougher time...would've been rough if we didn't have some time between the two surgeries. Now, 9 mos. for me, 7 for her, we are both loving life and doing great! She hit her goal about 4 weeks ago...mine, 3 weeks ago. Good luck and Godspeed...y'all are in for an awesome journey!

How do I wean myself off of coffee?

I followed doc's orders to a tee...except the whole coffee thing! Which looking back, wasn't the doctor who said no coffee, but the nutritionist. Regardless, I'm almost 9 months out and have been drinking 6-8 cups a day for about 4 months. Started off with Folgers half-caf and now drink both. I know there are folks on here who will cringe or scold for drinking it, but to each his own. Please don't think I'm encouraging you to do the same, simply offering up my story. Good luck on your journey and Godspeed for a quick recovery!

Awesome progress! Thanks for posting, always good to see how others are doing...keeps me motivated! Good luck on your continued success!

    Something is wrong you guys!

Don't be too concerned. At 7-8 weeks, I was about the same. I'm almost 9 months out and still do not tolerate canned tuna that well (fresh tuna steaks, no problem). I can eat almost anything, albeit small quantities (Which is why I went this route in the first place, so that's good! ). My wife is almost 7 months out and has no problem with tuna, yet cannot eat more than 4 oz. or so at one time, regardless of food type/consistency. Hang in there and as others have said, take it slow and easy...you need time to figure out what your new belly likes and doesn't like! Good luck on your journey!

Congratulations! Gotta love those victories that have nothing to do with the number on the scale, but mean so much!

    Where are the Mississippi Sleevers?

We got lots of sleet, very few flurries (Wet, none of the pretty stuff!), but my wife, son and daughter made the best of it...a sleetman! Regarding the southern fried sleevers with a gumbo kick...you got it! My surgery was May 8, 2013 and my wife's was July 8, 2013. My surgery, recovery and journey have been textbook. My wife had two hernias repaired, unfortunately her recovery wasn't as easy, but after 3-4 weeks, she was great (mainly just pain associated with the two extra procedures). This procedure has been nothing short of miraculous for both of us! Don't get me wrong, the surgery is a tool, however it provided the boundaries we both needed to succeed! Less than two weeks to go...I'm sure anxiety is rampant, however this time was probably the worst part of the process for me...I just wanted it done and over with! LOL Any questions, comments, concerns that we may be able to answer, please don't hesitate to ask!

    Where are the Mississippi Sleevers?

They're all making snow/sleet balls! Not in MS, however if I throw a baseball really hard, it'll almost reach Hancock County! LOL We're in Slidell...south of Picayune and west of Bay St. Louis...right smack in the middle of a frozen tundra at this time!
