  1. I am a nurse informaticist and analyst. I do contract work and started looking for a new contract 2 weeks post op. My contract started at 5 weeks post op. For the type of work I do, I could have gone back 3 wks post op. If I were still doing med surg nursing, I would have had to wait another week or two. Best wishes to you!

    I like big butts!

Yes, I'm an apple, not a pear. So I had the sleeve to loose the extra huge muffin top and the risk of the 2 diabetes. Maybe I'm not as intelligent as you booty-full sorts, but I'm ok with what I got. Congrats to those of you who are naturally smarter and healthier.
  3. GG, Woo hoo! I'm just 4 days behind you and totally get how thrilled you are! Now, my hubbie doesn't buy me cloths, but I've cleaned out everything and am replacing with 14s, 11s and even some 10s. Never in my life did I expect to feel so damn good! Good for you! And thanks for all the great posts over the last few months. I still can't believe you drove all the way home!

    November fitness challenge

I walked briskly for 40 minute. My fitbit tells me I walked 3.86 miles, but that included the long walk through the Costco parking lot and around the store. Last night I walked 1.8 miles. Total is 5.6. I'll take it and try to figure out how to separate exercise from regular errand and general steps on my fitbit.

What's the story behind your profile name?

Random thought- Maybe I should change mine to my "hooker" name. Name of first pet: Tina Name of first street I lived on: Smithfield TinaSmithfield. Has a nice ring to it.

    Thanksgiving Challenge

Last time I weighed was a week ago, 179.6. Goal for Thanksgiving is 165. This might keep me honest with the food and exercise. Thanks.

Hang in there and keep reading to be as informed as possible. I was sleeved on 8/6 and have never been as happy as I am now. It's work, and it's always on my mind, just like it was before the sleeve, but I am having great success and have hope that I never had before. I'm not certain this is the right choice for everyone, but for me, it's been great,

What's the story behind your profile name?

Went to Cozumel with my hubbie and another couple in 2000. Don, my friend, started calling me Seagirl, because I'm like a fish, they would always find me in or near the water. He still calls me Seagirl..

    CAUTION! Hazards of being Skinny!

LOL! Is that a victory of sorts? Maybe not, but congrats on the skinny pants. Can I call you "skinny pants"? .

    Road Warrior Sleevers

So glad you posted and are doing well on the road. I too, travel weekly, but am always in the USA. The first few weeks it was hard to not eat at the airport. Amazing what habits I had. Now it's easier. I seem to live one taco at a time, only eating the insides and not the tortilla. One taco, either egg and cheese, or ground beef or chicken and cheese will get me through a meal. I got really tired of the hotel eggs that were cooked and kept warm for hours, so had to find Breakfast tacos. Occasionally I will have Greek yogurt. I have a real problem with portions, not that I eat too much, but that I feel like I insult the place if I leave most of the food behind. I usually pack a box to go and get silverware, in case I see a homeless person on the street. They are usually happy to have my leftovers for themselves or to share with their dog. It's not as tricky as I worried it might be. I always have Protein bars or powder with me, and I'm not as tempted to eat all the crap as I was. Loosing clothing sizes helps to keep me motivated. I realize this might not help you in NZ, but you are not alone out there. My world, on the road, used to be filled with the focus of finding a "fulfilling" meal, which I failed at usually, so would just continue to eat until I couldn't eat anymore. So glad to be free of this neurosis.
  13. I drank cider when I was visiting family. It was fresh from them orchard. Delicious! It was a few glasses over one weekend. No problem at all!
  14. I just adopted a 7yr old Maine Coon called "Oreo". She was my my friend's Mom's kitty and she can't care for her anymore. Oreo is very sweet and we love having her with us. We has two rescue dogs, Kirby a border collie mix, and Rocky, an abused mix who was a complete mess, transformed int a complete goofball. They both passed in the last 18 mos or so. Having a new kitty sort of fills in the empty space in our home.

    People don't recognize me!

Yesterday he told me he thought maybe he was cheating on his wife with me. I asked him if that was weird and he replied "it's really awesome". By husband is THE BEST!

    November fitness challenge

Hey Butter and all, I'll see your 60 and raise you 5. I didn't do well at all in October, so it's time to show up for myself. I can do 2 miles a day, walking or running. Thanks for setting up the challenge!
