  1. I had my sleeve done on Feb 19' date=' 2013, I still cannot eat scrambled eggs they kill me. Seems like they get stuck going down and end up always coming back up and then Im miserable for a couple hours. I have been craving egg so I thought I would tried a fried egg, just did it in a tiny bit of margarine and couldn't believe how good it tasted and it went down fine and stayed down. I don't know if the cooking of the egg changes it and makes it harder for me or if it's just me. I have been afraid to try a soft or hard boiled egg til now I think I am gunna give them a try. Will wait a little longer to try a scrambled egg again. I hope it's just a "me" thing at this point I have always loved scrambled and my husband makes amazing scrambled eggs :}[/quote']

If you mix the egg with Water and a little cheese and cook until just cooked, they will melt in your mouth and be very soft. I am at 6 weeks out...

  2. Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I've dropped by' date=' but I just want to give an up date and a word of encouragement. I had my one year post-op yesterday. It was a bit late (2/14/12 surgery), but anywho. I was down #160 (335-175), twenty dress sizes (28-8) and over 252 inches. If I can do this, anyone can. I had my toes in the grave. I was on 21 meds and the doc told me I would die that way...whether I lost weight or not. Because of my problems he (my PCP) didn't think I would lost a huge amount (50-60#), but he encouraged me to have it do so I could 'feel a little better about myself.' Well, I'm glad to say I proved him wrong. I did lose weight and a lot of it. I also lost all of the meds and the cane/walker/wheelchair. I am a WALKING miracle. I give praise to God for my healing. Now because I was instantly miraculously healed, but because he allowed me to find the path and the means (insurance) to get what I needed to be healed. I do believe God instantly heals somethings in some people, but I also believe he uses the hand of good physicians to administer healing. This is the way he chose to give me mine. I encourage anyone that has had a long, unyielding struggle with obesity to talk to a doctor about WLS... Sleeve in particular. If you are on the edge trying to make up your mind, take my advice. Do it! You are sick? In pain? Lonely? Depressed? What are you holding on to! You have nothing to lose, but all of that. Are there risks? Yes. Is it hard? Yes. But come on. We all know the fat has a 100% chance of causing complication/death. Is it really that much of a gamble to take a 1% chance with a surgery. You're more likely to get killed in a car wreck on the way to get your next fast food burger. Do yourself and your family/friends a favor and choose life. I did and I would do it again and again.

You look wonderful. God is so good for sure. God bless sis. Just started my journey one week ago, but already glad I did.

  3. My surgery was last Tuesday and I was discharged from the hospital the following Wednesday evening. I was pretty much bedridden for the first couple of days at home' date=' mosrly due to meds and there being no other place to sit in my tiny studio, other than bar stools.

I weighed in at 231 before my pre op diet, 222 the day of surgery, 225 the day I came home and today I am at 212. I've been working really hard to get in all of the recommended fluids and Protein, sometimes staying up until way past midnight just to make sure ive got enough Water in to safely fall asleep. Im not very hungry these days, and I probably only consume about 300-500 calories per day in Protein, soy milk, and yogurt.

Most of my incisions seem to be healing quite nicely, including the drain. I still have a lot of pain in/ under my quarter sized incision that doesn't seem to want to go away. I cant find a comfortable way to sleep and when I move around the pain is killer-- its also bad when I try to pick stuff up. Coughing is extremely painfull, and today I sneezed and I could have sworn I saw "the light".Is this normal for 1 week post-op?[/quote']

Hello my surgery was on the 22 of APril. I have no pain really. I traveled two hours away to a funeral yesterday and have done fine. sleeping is good also. When is your surgeon appt?

  4. Hi everyone! I was just curious if anyone has been experiencing the residual pain in the shoulders from the gas? At least I assume it's the gas and that's what the doctor is telling me. I don't seem to have an issue until I sit in the car and then the pain is intense and sticks around for several hours. I've been doing peppermint tea and a heating pad. I'm trying not to take any pain pills. I do lots of walking around' date=' etc.

How long should I expect this pain? My surgery was a week ago today.

    Thanks[/quote']

I was just told by the dr that its a sign of not drinking enough Water. Water is harder than I ever imagined. Hopefully this pain will subside

I am also suffering terribly with left shoulder pain. I have suffered more with this than anything. Started to think they pulled on my arm in surgery or something. Today is one week since the procedure. I am also off all pain meds.

  6. I'm feeling a little better. It's still slow moving' date=' I'm not hungry whatsoever. It's a chore to drink the shakes. When I do drink them, I stand up and pace back and forth, I notice it helps tremendously with the gasses inside. I am able to drink the shakes and Water without any difficulty after doing this. I notice a lot of people try to come off their pain meds as soon as they come home, I'm not one of them! I follow the dosage and stick to it, I'm still in a decent amount of pain. Taking it one step at a time, thanks for thinking of me![/quote']

I was told no Protein shakes until next week:(. Only Clear Liquids.....
