Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Tomorrow I have a day full of tests. 8AM UGI test 9:45 Meeting with Nutritionist 11:30 Meeting with Psychologist 3:00 Appointment with my thyroid Dr. Somewhere in between my appointments I have to get an EKG. Luckily all my appointments are within 3 or 4 blocks of each other. Today after work a co-worker and I went to Curves to check it out. She had a heart attack in March and needs to exercise. We've been walking together at work 20 minutes a day but both want to do more. I'm going to join on my next paycheck. It's cool how they have a form for your doctor to sign that says you can't exercise for so many days after an illness or surgery. They put your membership on hold during that time and you don't get charged membership during that period. I want to work out before the surgery because I hear it helps. The only bad thing is I left all my paperwork at work and have to go there before my 1st appointment and pick it up. I went to the bank today and had 2 cashier checks made: one to the hospital and the other to the doctor. I'm paying the anesthesiologist on Friday and then my surgery is all paid for and I'm ready for the 18th of July!

years ago I had gallbladder surgery and began by period right before the surgery. I told the nurse and she said it wouldn't be a problem. I don't remember what they did but I didn't have any problems at all.

My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday July 18 at 9AM.
  4. Hello. I'm Michelle, 36yo from Nashville. I've been thinking about the band for years and tried 5 years ago through my insurance company but they said no. I got a new job and tried through my current insurance and they said no, so now I've decided to self pay. I have my appointment with Dr. Olsen at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville this Thursday June 7th and my appointment with their psychologist the following Thursday. I am very excited. I've waited a long time for this. My co-workers and family are very excited for me. My husband is extremely supportive. We married when I was over weight and he always said the weight never bothered him but if it bothers me then he supports me in my decision. I was always bigger than other kids growing up, taller and fatter. Even in High School I was bigger even though I played basketball and ran track. I fell into the trap of thinking I was huge when the other girls would wear smalls and I'd wear an extra large. Looking back now, I see that in High School I was the perfect weight (muscle weights more than fat.) but now as an adult, I'm obese. 335 pounds. I want to do this not only for me but for my husband because I want to live a long life with him. Thursday can't get here fast enought - that is the day when my surgery date will be set!

    Tn. lap band

I'm in Nashville and have my doctor's appointment with Dr. Olsen at Centennial this Thursday June 8. I am also a self pay because my insurance won't pay for it. The cost above is exact and when you self pay, Dr. Olsen cut 15% off of his fee. The cost of the sugery does not include his office consultation $230.00 and the cost of the psychologist they send you to before the surger. I think the psychologist is $290 or $390. I am excited. From what I've read/heard of Dr. Olsen is that he cares for his patients yet he is a strict Dr and will tell you how things are even if you don't want to hear it. This is the type of Dr. I need.
