  1. Sleeved March 6th' date=' and i just stepped on the scale!!!!!!!!! 50lbs God willing GONE FOREVER!!!!!!! it's been a very rough 2 months for me and its still very tough with having no energy and trying to keep up with my 20 month old but the weight is falling off and I'm elated! Although I feel like my body isn't really showing it since I'm a very thick curvy woman but hey nonetheless I'm losing it.

How are all the March sleevers doing??[/quote']

March 18. Loving it every sec. -51

  2. I had a band for 6 years and just had the sleeve done' date=' well 10 weeks ago. Honestly I thought the band was worse than the sleeve. I could constantly feel where the band was and it hurt. When I had the sleeve I wasn't in much pain and couldn't tell I had anything done at all. The only pain was on my right side where the drain was, other than that I was fine. You can't eat as soon after the sleeve as you can with the band, but you will get through it. I think the first 3 weeks are the hardest. Good Luck[/quote']

I had the band out and sleeve done at the same time..maybe I'm lucky but really I thought it was all rather easy.. Loving it..

  3. I am on celexa almost a year now' date=' it hasn't stalled my post op weight loss or made me hungry. I know I would be an emotional mess with out it lol. I take mine in the morning. I'm 4.5 weeks out -32 lbs.[/quote']

Thanks for the reply. I'm 7 weeks out and loving every sec. Of it. Started out at 419lbs -49 as of today. I'll start celexa now after all the good feedback.. I was afraid I might mess things up.

  4. So I am going to be 6 months post op in a few weeks (can't believe it lol) down almost 100lbs so far. (Highest weight was 379' date=' down to 283. Still a ways to go but getting there) I was just looking at some old pictures of myself and doing side by side comparisons and I notice obviously my face looks A LOT thinner of course, but my facial features actually look different? My nose looks SO much smaller. I have always disliked my nose, thought it was too wide for my face, but looking at recent pictures to me it looks almost like I got a nose job or something? I honestly LOVE my 'new' nose haha I also feel the shape of my face has changed, I think its more heart shaped then the original 'round' I always assumed it was lol.

Has anyone else notices this or something similiar with their face losing weight?

Heres a few pictures to show what I mean[/quote']

Sure did and for the better too!! You're doing so good!!

  5. Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I've dropped by' date=' but I just want to give an up date and a word of encouragement. I had my one year post-op yesterday. It was a bit late (2/14/12 surgery), but anywho. I was down #160 (335-175), twenty dress sizes (28-8) and over 252 inches. If I can do this, anyone can. I had my toes in the grave. I was on 21 meds and the doc told me I would die that way...whether I lost weight or not. Because of my problems he (my PCP) didn't think I would lost a huge amount (50-60#), but he encouraged me to have it do so I could 'feel a little better about myself.' Well, I'm glad to say I proved him wrong. I did lose weight and a lot of it. I also lost all of the meds and the cane/walker/wheelchair. I am a WALKING miracle. I give praise to God for my healing. Now because I was instantly miraculously healed, but because he allowed me to find the path and the means (insurance) to get what I needed to be healed. I do believe God instantly heals somethings in some people, but I also believe he uses the hand of good physicians to administer healing. This is the way he chose to give me mine. I encourage anyone that has had a long, unyielding struggle with obesity to talk to a doctor about WLS... Sleeve in particular. If you are on the edge trying to make up your mind, take my advice. Do it! You are sick? In pain? Lonely? Depressed? What are you holding on to! You have nothing to lose, but all of that. Are there risks? Yes. Is it hard? Yes. But come on. We all know the fat has a 100% chance of causing complication/death. Is it really that much of a gamble to take a 1% chance with a surgery. You're more likely to get killed in a car wreck on the way to get your next fast food burger. Do yourself and your family/friends a favor and choose life. I did and I would do it again and again.

    Before surgery (28, 335#) and on my 1 year Surgiversary (8/10, 178#)

At my 1 year post op (8, 175#) holding my old size 28 skirt.
