  1. My doctor took the glue off my incisions and the they looked great. He said it was perfectly fine to go swimming in the ocean. This was at my one week visit. I am now at 3.5 weeks and have been swimming a lot in the ocean and the incision look fantastic.
  2. I couldn't have my surgery until I did my 30 day compliance. I had to use the CPAP machine for 30 days straight and then the report was sent to the doctor before my appointment. If I didn't do this then my surgery would be cancels and also insurance would not pay for the machine. Check with your insurance and with your surgeon's policy.
  3. So your surgery is the 17th at Salem? Your body gets use to the liquid diet after the 3rd day and I was losing 1 lb a day on it. I'm three weeks post-op and I am so ready for food. Next Wednesday I can start trying fish and chicken. Yahoo! Keep me posted and hope to see you at the support group sometime. I go every month and sit near the front.
  4. I was up and walking within a few hours of getting to my room. I was peeing every hour and every other time I got up I took a walk. The nurses ended up leaving my compression boots off because I was getting up on my own. No pain. I had a block down in recovery and that worked great.
  5. I do agree with Oliver's Mom. The support you get at the North Shore Medical Group is outstanding. Anytime I have a question or a concern I can get someone on the phone or on e-mail and get an answer. Salem Sleeve Sister we are!
  6. Hi Tanya! My Post-op is going Awesome. I had a wonderful experience at Salem Hospital, Dr. Benedetto and all the staff. Wonderful care. I came out of surgery (in the recovery room) with some nausea and little pain but right away they took care of it. When I was brought up to my room I felt awesome and felt that way since. I'm on Stage 2 of the post-op diet and I'm getting bored. I am so ready for a piece of fish or chicken. When I get my laptop back from Staples I will post my journey. Thank you for asking.
  7. My doctor wanted me to walk 2-3 times a day. By day 5 post surgery I walked 3 miles at a very slow pace. My energy level was low. I'm finding it's getting better. I've been to the gym twice and I'm going tonight for Zumba. I will drink a Carnation Instant Breakfast before going just to get more Protein in me. I find that helps me out a lot. Do what you can do. Don't give up. Your energy will come back and it's different for everyone.
  8. Thank you! It's been tough but I know he wants be to move on.

  13. I'm with you JessicaAnn. My surgery is tomorrow and I started getting nervous last night. Everyone says it's normal but I do have all the same worries for after surgery. Self Talk! I can do it!!!....
  14. That is wonderful. I'm so happy to hear the positive. I'm having surgery tomorrow and maybe I'll have to name my new stomach too. That's a wonderful idea. Thanks for the inspiration.
  15. I wish it was today. I am so ready for this. Unfortunately, my computer at home just died so I'm going to have to find some way of updating you and everyone. My computer was sent out for a new mother board. I might just go buy an i-pad. Somehow I'll update.
  16. I'll try and keep u posted after the surgery.
  17. Yes, NSMC makes us go through a 4 week Pre-op program and then we have to do a 2 week Liquid Pre-op diet. After surgery we have an 8 week Post-op program we have to go though. Support groups are also offered once a month. I have found them very informative.
  18. Tanya, I am really excited. Did you get a date yet? Maybe we will see each other during the 8 week post-op program.
  19. I don't own a scale either. I weigh in every week at Weight Watchers. I do own a food scale and I weigh my food.
