    January fitness challenge

    Hey there everyone!! Work has been keeping me busy busy so I haven't been able to check in till now but I am happy to say I made my goal for the month. I ended the month at 122.25 miles! I did better this month than the last 2 months so that makes me very happy. I have still been in a plateau state. I have been bouncing between 284 to 287 lbs for the last month. Kinda frustrating but I know I need to step up the exercise more. No excuses...just have to do it! Great job everyone!! C-ya next month!

    January fitness challenge

    Hey there everyone! Looks like you are all doing great! Keep up the great work! I have been busy busy so I haven't been able to check in daily but I am still at it. I am sitting at 70.1 miles for the month so far. The wife and I have been enjoying some great hikes together. Being outside and away from the TV and computers is awesome! Keep up the hard work everyone!

    January fitness challenge

    Hey there everyone! Looks like everyone is doing great...keep up the great work! I have been staying busy, but have been getting my walking in every day. So far for the month I am at 41.85 miles. Today my wife and I took a nice hike thru Lake Bistineau State Park. It was a beautiful day to be outside and on the trail. Even saw some deer. Here is a pic my wife shot of me without me knowing lol.

    One of my dear friends lives in Covington. We are only about 45 min away from there. Good luck on getting your dateI lived in Abita Springs for 8 years! Sure do miss it down there, except during a hurricane...lol

    2.3 miles in the books today. That puts me at 15.35 for the month. I am going to try and get a 2 mile hike in tomorrow morning before the temps drop and the rain moves in. Keep up the great work everyone!

    I'M BACKKKKK!!! I think I have finally beat the crud! It killed me on the last 2 weeks of the December Challenge. But I am ready for a new month and a new Challenge! My goal for this month will be: 100 miles walked/biked weight workout 3 days a week Minimum of 2 trail hikes at the lake Today I had a good workout using my garage sale find weight station. I worked out my biceps, triceps and chest. I did high reps with low weight. I have also walked a total of 4.65 miles today. It has been a great day!

    December Fitness Challenge

    Well, Happy New Year everyone. I hope everyone is doing great! This cold has been kicking my arse but I think I about have it beat. I managed to finish the month at 111.65 miles, well short of my goal but happy none the less. Now...bring on 2014 and all the wonderful things it has in store for us all!!

    December Fitness Challenge

    Well I hit 100 miles...101.5 to be exact. I may be done for the month though. Seems I have caught this cold bug that's been going around. I don't think it's the flu but definitely not fun. Who knew the sinus's could produce so much mucus....and such interesting colors too! Any who, finish strong everyone and let's get ready for 2014...it's gonna be a great year!!!

    December Fitness Challenge

    I hope everyone is doing great! So far I am having a decent month even as busy as I have been with work. It is time for a vacation. Glad I only work 5 days in the next 2 weeks. So far I am at 79.9 miles for the month and I have been doing a minimum of 4 miles per day. Everything is feeling good and I am looking forward to the new year and all the promising things it holds. Stay strong everyone, resist the temptations of the holiday goodies. Enjoy them, just don't over enjoy. Stay focused!

    December Fitness Challenge

    Well, I am at exactly 60 miles so far this month. I am a little short for the midway point, but I am gonna make it up in the second half of the month. Good news is I need to step up my workouts and start some training. I am going to be going to Colorado in August to go backpacking with some childhood friends. Should be a blast but I gotta get prepared. I never thought I would ever get a chance to do this again, but this new lifestyle is making it possible...I just have to do my part now and prepare. Mount Shavano...here I come...gonna conquer all 14,000 feet of ya!

    As of last night I am at 39.55 miles. Today I am going to start some strength training. I think I will wait on that til after work. The weight station is in the garage and it is 27 degrees right now. Yep...after work it is. And thank goodness no nekkid planking in the snow for me....wow...I won't even discuss the dangers of that one for a guy!

    Monday morning check in...I am at 31.75 miles so far for the month. I didn't get much this weekend with all the family activities we had going on so time to step it up. Good thing is, I picked up a fitness station at a garage sale Saturday for $30, that was fun moving that monster. Garage is looking like my personal gym now...lol Keep up the great work everyone and go grab this week and kick it in the teeth!

    December Fitness Challenge

    I know what you mean. I have been walking religiously, drinking my water and protein and eating right. I stay between 800 to 1100 calories. I have been bouncing between 283 and 287 for 2 weeks now. But...I am still loosing inches. I am down 5 pant sizes so far. Will be nice once the scale starts heading south again.

    Sunday I did 4.4 miles. I also did a lot of up and down the ladder while hanging Christmas lights on the house.
