Also watch the meals where you may have more carbs Helen as I find that I want to snack more afterwards. If you absolutely must have something to eat have a bite of Protein or half an Optifast bar/shake-it does help-especially if you hate opti like me.Lol!.

Hi all I had heaps of hair fall out too but it grows back!! Just get into a good hairdresser is my advice particularly if it's bad. Luckily my cousin is my hairdresser so got loads of samples etc until I hit on the thing for me
Things are going pretty well at the moment. Losing about a kg per week right now and am just finishing week 4 of Couch to 5K. Am very seriously considering a treadmill though as it is going to be a long hot summer out here I think!! Plus I sometimes would like to run at night and could do that if I had a treddy.
It's funny though, the more weight I lose, the further I drop my goal weight. Has anyone else experienced this? It's like I perpetually have 10 kg to lose lol. My friend said to me the other day to be aware that losing weight has been such a focus for so long that I need to consider I am adjusting the goal cause I don't know any other way of thinking.
It got me really considering this point of view- now whilst I still think I have at least 10kg more that I would like to lose, I really am enjoying the weight loss process right now and getting fit. It will be a whole new challenge to maintain my weight and though I have had a lifetime of trying to lose I have never had to keep healthy at a particular weight. Funny how just when you think you've got the sleeve worked out how it throws another curve ball
But honestly what a great bloody problem to have!! God I love my sleeve!!
Have a great weekend all!! Cheers Liss

Hi to all and welcome any Newies .Congrats Bec we are traveling on similar paths .I am down 28 kilos since starting .This is including 2 weeks preop so that's about 8 th may. Each month changes for me and the amount and types of food certainly have changed. So to any new people don't despair as I don't think there is anything I can't eat.Just much smaller portions.I hope this never changes.I think this is going to be the best thing I have done for myself.

My friend's surgery went well although she reacted badly to the drugs. She has the leak test today and will go home tomorrow. She already feels a lot better. Asked me to visit her today to play canasta for a while so she must be getting back to normal.

Great that you have a diagnosis. I also have Iron deficiency anaemia and have just started back on iron tablets, but it's not related to my diet or sleeve. Our health issues will definitely be less as we lose the weight which is a real benefit.

Saw my GP today.I am tired and wobbly cos I am severely Iron deficient and it looks as though my arthritis is becoming rheumatoid or lupus. So no issues with my trusty sleeve or calorie intake-thanks again for all your support and sensible advice.
My GP said I had the sleeve done in the nick of time.No-one would operate on me now.
22kg down and only able to walk cos of the weight loss.Latest NSV: my knickers fell down inside my work slacks yesterday.Lol! Absolutely love my sleeve

This is a hectic week for me as some bigwigs are visiting and I need to host the dinner for them tomorrow and give a presentation Friday. We had the dry run of our presentations yesterday so I just need to do some fine-tuning today. I'm hoping I get a chance to take a breath and relax a bit at work. This evening is also the only evening this week I will be home so I'm looking forward to that too!
I did lose a bit of weight this week. It's good to see it inching down. Someone in my band finally said something about my weight last night. So that was good.

Phew .... just caught up on the thread. Great to see all my old friends doing so well. Hi to everyone I haven't met yet. I'm sure you've already realised what a great bunch of people this is.
NSV this week. I can do (unassisted) pull up. It's a real milestone in my training. 44 years old and I've never done a strict pull up in my life before. Very happy.
    Have a great day,
    Deano

    Hi All,
So I held strong today! Lol I am now on day 5 of Pre op diet and went to the movies with hubby. He loves movie popcorn and he was going to pass for my sake but I convinced him I was fine for him to have it (he has been incredibly good about the diet and eating healthy with me - I'm so lucky!) anyway, while waiting to go up to the cinema I was looking at all the movie treats and my mind wondered to all the things I would normally get when at the movies - m&m's, choc top and a coke. Of course this makes u kinda want it lol anyway I held off and as we walked up the flight of stairs, then to our seats, I was totally puffed and out of breathe in that moment I knew I was making the right choice getting the sleeve! I don't want to be puffing up stairs any longer! I sipped on my Water and felt good about it! Xo

I am waiting at Holy Spirit Hospital Chermside for my friend who has gone into surgery to have a sleeve done. I hope all goes smoothly as I feel a bit responsible for inspiring her to make this decision. I can't wait to see her changing. She started at about 130kg and lost 5kg during opti pre op phase.

Thank you! It's been tough at times - like today we went bowling for my hubby's bday and we ordered a platter of deep fried Snacks for our group of friends - I just didn't look in that direction lol I didn't want anyone else to miss out just because I'm not eating so I just drank Water and had brought celery sticks along in case I felt left out but I didn't. I can't wait to see the big changes this will bring! Ps u have done an amazing job! I prob need to lose 60kg but small steps in the right direction is what it's all about!
