Hi Nikki.Welcome and good luck with your sleeve journey.I am self funded with good private health cover so I can't advise you on your super release.I will however strongly recommend that you allow an extra 1 or 2,000 dollars for unexpected costs.I had to pay a fortune in medical tests before my surgeon would operate.

Dreadful news.I am thinking of her, those she loved and the lost new life she wanted with deep sorrow. Counting my own blessings with gratitude.

Hey Liss-four days of exercise is better than none! I haven't stretched as much as I should So I bought a fold up exercise bike on ebay.It is compact but surprisingly sturdy and I managed 10 mins this arvo. I have followed the "rules" on puree except for one ghastly night when I ate dinner too fast (yes I gulped) cos the kids were acting up.I didn't vomit but I couldn't stand up or lie down cos of the painful brick feeling in my tummy.I had to lay half propped up on the couch moaning feebly for an hour.Never want to feel like that again!! Awful!!Lesson learned. I am glad you posted.I was about to weaken and have my first glass of wine but I won't now-lol-thank you

Hi Camella! I stopped taking vitagummies when I realised the adult dose of 3 pastilles gave me an extra 60 calories on mfp! I thought they tasted sweet as well-they have glucose syrup in them My dietician said a soluble Supradyn extra was good if I couldn't handle a pill otherwise Centrum was fine.I have been taking one Centrum for Women tablet per day since the first week of fluids (zero calories). Also one Caltrate plus, silica (to stop hair loss)and Vitamin D.I also take other stuff but that is for my arthritis. BTW: the vitagummy fibre pastilles are 5 cals for an adult dose of two gummies.A good alternative to jubes (joke!) and it claims to give 3 grams of dietry fibre but also very sweet.

Thanks Susan-you are on the right track.Yes, I am being (and have been) monitored closely for thyroid problems.Every health professional I see always says I actually physically look like I should have a thyroid problem but the blood tests are ok to date.It was the first thing Dr Mosse screened before the surgery and he says he will keep a close eye on it.

I had two weeks off work, but still looked after the kids, and started puree the first day back.I am on my feet and in a frantic responsible job.The sleeve part was fine-no tummy pain-and I snacked on greek yoghurt, puree apple, puree chicken and vege casserole and sipped Water in between.I will admit I felt wobbly but I had just got over a chest infection and had just finished the fluids.Plus I kept forgetting to eat So you will be absolutely *fine* after 4 weeks away!Enjoy your time off and you will be surprised how quickly you get into a work-life rhythm again once something (semi-solid) hits yr tummy. All the very best for tomorrow.Hugs.

I was told that panadol or panadeine is absolutely fine as I need them daily for my arthritis pain.I stopped my meds the day before the op to make sure nothing was in my tummy.Sorry for the late reply-first Sat back at work.I hope you feel much better today.

Yes Liss and aussiegirl, I will join you. I commit to: continue the zero alcohol intake that I have been on for the last month;not 'sneak' in the easy foods like chocolate and ice cream while on puree (haven't succumbed yet but have been tempted-curse you Cadbury and Sara Lee- lol!); meet my daily 60g Protein intake; drink more fluids following the rules; not weigh myself daily and freak myself out; and start to stretch my arthritic joints regularly. Don't want to put a weight loss goal if that is ok as I am going to be a slow loser.
