Hello' date=' anyone in the Toledo area? I could really use some support.[/quote']I am!

Surgery was 4/17/13. I am doing c2 5 k with a friend. We have been doing it about 10 weeks. We've repeated days and weeks to make it through. I am now able to do 25 minutes if straight jogging without a break. Not up to 5 k yet, I'm slow! Lol. But my friend is having trouble getting past 5 minutes straight. Still way better than week one when we couldn't run 30 seconds straight!
As of today...down 61#

About the gallbladder. I had mine removed about 5 years before wls. I had terrible dumping syndrome. It went on for sometime. I had meds to help control it. Still had occasional problems up until my wls. Since surgery (7wks ago) I have had no problems.

3 1/2 weeks out. I still wake up with a dry mouth. I try to keep Water by the bed and sip thru the night. My mouth is so dry when I wake up it feels like concrete!!!

A heating pad is amazing! I have been using one since surgery. It helped on the incisions, and when I had cramping.

Great job c2 5 k'ers. My friend has been faithfully doing this with me and we finished week 1. We were both surprised we could do it. We are actually enjoying it!

I think most of the problem is that I am just not hungry!

I made pudding with 2% milk and extra Protein. 2oz is about 7 G protein. It's pretty good too. You can add a little lite cool whip and its even better.
I went back thru my book and decided that I must be eating too slow and not eating enough. So, for lunch I had 2 oz cottage cheese in about 20 minutes, switched the laundry then had 2 oz of protein pudding. That makes a 14 G protein lunch. We'll see if this makes me feel a little better.

I have tried different Proteins and use milk to get the extra Protein. I am able to eat cottage cheese now and scrambled eggs. They both go down ok. I am allowed to have yogurt now, but it hasn't agreed with me yet. I think taking in the actual food is helping. I think my capacity is 2-3 oz. I am so full if I have 3. I have also learned to drink my Protein Shakes early they take a few hours to get down and I do sip Water in between. I think they are so heavy on my stomach.

April 17th...
Currently down 28.5. Still exhausted everyday. Still napping, I go back to work on the 13th! I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things this week.
-
I am on day 18 po. I have lost 28.5 lbs since the day before surgery. I am supposed to be taking in 50grams of Protein per day at this point. And I agree...it's hard! I am also very tired. I nap daily and sleep through the night. I have one more week off of work, I had so many things I wanted to do while I was off, but I just can't. I hope this last week perks me up!
-
I just want to say day 4 I feel worse than ever' date=' god this sucks, I've lost 12 lbs though its the only thing keeping me going.. My eyes can't focus, they feel like they are shaking and I can't keep up with hydration, brain is in a fog.[/quote']I was the same way, everything was so blurry. I stopped my pain meds 3 days after surgery because I thought that's what was causing it. I think it was the pain med and anesthesia. It went away after a few days. My one pupil was dilated and the other one wasn't! No wonder they didn't want me to drive for at least a week. Lol.
-
4 days, I am 2 wks post op and I usually only go every 4 days. Unless something doesn't agree with me! Which today is yogurt!!!
-
I started today! One of my friends did it with me. I did it! Lol....long way to go. My shins and ankles always hurt when I try to run, I need to do some better stretches. I bought new balance running shoes, they were pretty comfy! I was surprised that I finished the exercises today without stopping. Hopefully I can get out of bed tomorrow.

Day 13 po and still not hungry for anything. I cook good meals for the family and it doesn't even bother me. I have started to get terrible indigestion. As soon as I start to drink or eat in the am it starts. Also, I've been walking and trying to do housework, etc. I am just exhausted. I take at least one nap a day. Dr called in script for omeprazal (sp) for me. They said this could last 3 months, until more weight comes off! I am still on liquids/protein shakes/oat meal and cream of wheat. Ugh. I did try a little yogurt today, I feel like I need something more substantial, but I could only handle about 1 oz.

Quote I was intrigued by your mention of It Works body wrap. So, I did a search for reviews. The best place to look is Amazon.com. Type this is the search box: It Works! Body Wraps. (1) Ultimate Body Applicators (Health and Beauty) The reviews were eye opening, everything from 5 stars to 1 star. What was interesting is that 93 people gave it 1 star, but only 49 people gave it 5 stars. The discussion is very interesting, so I recommend reading the comments to get a good feel for it. Some buyers got no results, others got fantastic results. So, I'd probably try it after some more research. How much does it cost if you become a distributor? And do tell us your results, rootie3. Promise? I did the It works wraps. I used it on my arms, neck, stomach, and ankles. It did work it was wonderful for 2 days then it came back with a vengeance. I lost 2 inches around my arms and in 2 days I was 3 inches bigger.
You have to keep using them, like every 3 days. But I figured it would help in the long run with all the weight loss.
-
It was $100 to become distributor for it works. I read some negative stuff too. But the girl I signed under has showed me her own before and afters and it really made a difference. Someone posted that they used it and it worked, but a few days later it came back and then some. I think you are supposed to use it like every 3 days. You don't just use it once and stop. I figured it couldn't hurt, maybe if I start at the beginning of the weight loss my skin won't be so saggy. I haven't used it yet, waiting on steri/strips to come off.

Where did you get the band? I thought that would be a good idea. I also signed up to sell "it works". I know people who use it and I've read online that it helps after weight loss surgery. I just signed up to sell so I get a discount when I purchase. If anyone else is interested I could sign you up! Lol.

How are you April sleevers? I had my surgery 4/17/13. Starting weight the week before surgery-256. Current weight-169. I have definitely slowed down. My face is very thin and I am comfortable at my current weight. I would like to get to 150, so if I gain a little back I won't feel too overweight. A real bummer that my once robust breasts now look like an egg in a sweat sock dangling from my chest. I'm working on toning my muscles and firming up the skin. I am quite impressed how my skin has bounced back.
