Miserable
The first week was really hard for me too. I was in a lot of pain, and hating only having fluids. I'm 3 weeks out now and it's getting easier. Hang in there, it gets better

Hummus?
Great! Thanks everyone I used to eat it with baby carrots and snap peas...it was good that way.

Hummus?
I'm still in the puree/soft food fase. I see people are eating hummus (and I love hummus!) But, what do you eat it with? Do you just spoon it at this time in the diet?

Starting to get scared!
I can kind of relate. I have done the same thing with the self sabotage. I'll loose some, then I'll mentally tell myself "Oh! I lost weight! Now I can have that slice of cake!" LOL and so the yo yo dieting set in. And I would feel that fear as I inched closer to 200 also. I don't know why? Maybe it's a comfort thing and a safety thing with what we know? Maybe it's a fear of success, fear of failure thing? Either way, you're not alone...

Fiber Pasta
I discovered this a while ago while on one of my many weight watcher diets LOL This Pasta is amazing! It tastes like regular pasta, and 2 oz uncooked is 7 grams of Protein. The calories, fat and carbs are low too. So, if you like pasta...I recommend this (I can't wait to get back to my bread stage lol) Anyway...wanted to share http://www.fibergourmet.com/Default.aspx

Straws?
Thanks everyone! It seems like the general consensus is most docs say no....but most do it anyway and don't have a problem. I can live with that lol (aren't we all such rebels )

On Week 3 Post Op. Need some help!
I love hummus....but what do you dip in it? Just eat it plain?
-
Straws?
I was told in the beginning not to sip from a straw since it can cause excess gas. Does anyone use straws and do you notice that problem?

I rode a bike for the first time in about 10 years...
I haven't been on one since I was a kid, but have been thinking about it too!

Im 5 days post op
Cream of wheat wasn't on my list until the puree stage. I would focus on clear liquids, maybe some sugar free jello. Try to take a small bite and let it sit for a couple minutes..see how that does, then take another bite. I think as long as you stay hydrated that's the important part..

Is this normal?
Yes, everyday...

Pickles in chicken, tuna, egg salad during puree stage?
I used marinara sauce with my pureed chicken and it was good. I used some pickle juice with my tuna....but haven't tried it with relish or a pickle yet.
-
Is this normal?
It worries me I hope it changes down the line!

Is this normal?
I actually do feel hungry! It seems like most here don't ever feel hungry, and even get a sick feeling after eating. I ate my 4 oz of pureed chicken and I was just barely in the comfortable zone lol I could have probably had something else (but I didn't). Anyone else go through this too?

Eight weeks out and notice change in appetite
So before you didn't mind food and maybe felt hungry...but now it makes you nauseous? I'm 3 weeks post-op and finding I get hungry. It would be nice to at least not feel hungry lol
