  1. Good Morning, Gang! So busy! At least one thing going on every day! Dinner w/high school classmate and his wife last night. Then Earl dropped me off at youngest sister's... we haven't had enough "sisters on the porch drinking wine" time! Barb was already there.... RV is parked at her house, so we came back together... but not until about 1 a.m. Zoey smothered me in kisses when I got back! Excited about meeting Peter and Candice in Niagara Falls this afternoon. Dinner in the revolving restaurant at the top of the Skylon Tower. BTW.... my "Earl" is only a category 2!!! LOL Janet... sorry about all the drama, etc. at work. Hope things settle down soon. Enjoy your long weekend! Linda.. good to hear from you. Thought provoking comments.. well-put. Steph... Karla.... HUGS!! Is Karri already gone to TX or is that after this weekend?? This is our last weekend here. Oil change on RV Tuesday, then leave on Wed. Stay in Ohio with friends first night.. in their driveway, that is. We'll play some Pinochle. Hope you all have a GREAT day!!
  2. Hope things start looking up for you. Yep... burn out!! Wine tour was great fun. Lots of photos on FB. We were gone almost 5 hours, 5 wineries. Great limo driver... older gentleman who was very sweet. Didn't even charge us for the 45 minutes we ran over. Today... dinner w/high school classmate and his wife. Nothing during the daytime so far. It's going to be another very hot, humid day and Earl is already whining about that! It will cool off tomorrow or Friday because of the hurricane coming this way and storm front coming from the west. He can't wait!! I don't mind it that much, but it's frustrating when you take a shower and no matter how much you towel off you can't get dry!! It's tough to try to put a bra on a clammy body!! LOL Janet.. glad your jury duty was short and sweet! Candice.... 4 pm tomorrow... Skylon Tower... that's the big one with the yellow elevators and rotating restaurant. I will get on their site and see about reservations. Wine photos... my sisters and I are in the black shirts! But Mary Lou had a white shirt on for a while... then I bought a short sleeve one and gave her my 3/4 sleeve one to wear. She is being a jerk about photos. Sent me a message one night telling me to remove all her pictures from her profile page. Well... if you "tag" them, they show up on that person's page. So I guess I have to "untag" all the pictures from the wedding and I haven't tagged her in any of the wine tour pictures. So last night... another message saying she's quitting FB because people won't stop putting her picture on her page!! She wants to put her own pictures on... HAH.. not really... she's just very vain and wants to approve every picture that gets put on. She used to put her hand in front of her face or turn her head every time she saw my camera!! She's the tallest one, FYI. Birthday girl is the one wearing the crown. Her sister made her wear it all day!! And a name tag that said "Today is my birthday!" It was her 65th. The two girls in the green... Carol & Marcia, grew up in the house behind us when we were kids. Sort of lost track and reconnected through Facebook. We really had a GREAT time and it was so good to see them again. They fed us dinner when we got back so no one was driving drunk!! HAHAHA!!
  3. All of the above... hair, nails, make-up, eyebrows waxed, and wore my contacts. Thanks for all the compliments!! HAH!! So you got your Caddy!! Congrats!! Yeah, DH is so attached to that dog!! He brought the dog to the wedding reception and parked the car in the shade and put her in her little red bag. Then he went out and checked on her about every hour and took her for walks, and finally, towards the end of the evening, when we were sitting outside on the patio at the reception.. he brought the dog down there! He's a kick. He's got her peeing on demand now, too! Takes her outside and tells her to go potty and she does! Glad you are asking for a conference. Definitely sounds like a bored child. Our oldest son was "gifted" and he was very bored in kindergarten. He could already read. So the teacher picked up on that and started having him read books to the class. But every teacher had to find ways to keep him from getting bored. I will know more about when we'll be in your area once we actually get back on the road.... next Tuesday. Have to figure out when we'll get to OK, how long we're going to stay and how long it will take us from there. I did spend a couple of hours on the itinerary a few days ago and worked out some stops. Congrats, Cheri!! What I am thankful for today..... for having this week to spend with all three of my sisters! Had a great time on a 4 hour guided wine tour complete with limo today! Great fun! Got in trouble for buying too many bottles of wine.... 7! He doesn't know about the t-shirt yet!! LOL
  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CANDICE!!! Wine tour today! Sisters coming at 9:30 a.m. I have to get in the shower! Everyone have a GREAT day!
  5. Gotta go jump in the shower! Another busy day.... family outing to what used to be "Aunt Genny's Cottage"... now remodeled and owned by her oldest daughter. She invited us all out for lunch. I'm not sure she realizes that there are about 4 car loads of people showing up!! HAHAHA!! Anyway... wanted to say "Good Morning" and add a couple more photos! Yeah... that's ME... DANCING!! Hey... Candice... your dress makes another appearance!! LOL
  6. A couple more photos from the wedding reception. Smooch pic is my favorite, I think!
  7. I'll have to go look at that picture again! Smiling, huh?!! LOL Yes... these "modern" relationships... don't do things the way we used to... baby first, then wedding! She is a beautiful baby and she looked adorable in that little wagon... 4 yr old ring bearer pulling the wagon up the aisle! Cute! Think I'll post a couple more photos.. one of me & my sisters w/Mom... 88 yrs old! And one more "hat" picture. Eva... are you right off I-10??? Stopping at your place might be a possibility! Yes, Cheri... you can handle all that technology. I've never lost or broken a phone, or dropped one in the toilet!! LOL! But then I've been wearing mine around me neck the past couple of years!!! HAHA!! Hard to lose it then! I'm worried about this new one because I don't yet have a case that fits right. I ordered some accessories on eBay and they were shipped about a week ago, but coming from Hong Kong so who knows when they will get here!! I hope before we leave! Had them shipped here to my sister's house. Okay... gotta go to bed! Exhausted after another long day with family and two more busy days to go before I get a day to relax a little.... Wed... only thing scheduled that day is dinner with old high school classmate.
  8. Thanks, Linda!! I survived just fine! Had the most fun I've had at a wedding since my cousins first wedding (she had three!). It was 1970 and Earl was in Viet Nam. Didn't drink wine in those days but must have been drinking something because I started flirting with this cute guy. Then my Aunt Genny came over and discreetly whispered to me... "that's the priest, you know!" LOL!! But... yeah, I had a great time last night. Reception lasted from 6 pm to 11 pm.... I had 4 glasses of wine and a glass of champagne. Not too bad, I guess.. for 5 hours. It was a beautiful wedding and a perfect day. Reception was at a very nice restaurant downtown on the Buffalo waterfront... right on the marina. There was outdoor seating with gas fireplaces. So spent part of the time sitting outside. I don't remember if I posted these pictures here or not! The dog picture is my "NO, I haven't seen your hat" photo!! LOL. She was playing with my hat and managed to get it over her head. I started laughing and said "WHAT are you doing with my hat??" So she started walking towards me and it ended up around her rear end. It was pretty funny!
  9. Yep! I'd say you're done!! Congrats!! Here's my before and a few taken this weekend at niece's wedding.
  10. Wedding day so just time to breeze through your posts before we go to reception. A little unwind time after the wedding. Beautiful day, beautiful wedding! Here are a few pictues, including one I just took which I am calling, "No, I haven't seen your hat!!"
  11. Beautiful day, beautiful wedding! Resting with a glass of wine, back at the RV. Have to pick up Mom &Uncle Ed in an hour to take them to the reception which is in downtown Buffalo on the waterfront. We will NOT be taking them home! I am going to insist that someone else do that. I did not drive 2700 miles to come to this wedding and have to leave early because they're tired and want to go home. I'm going to see if my nephew will take them... Don't think he drinks, is not bringing his girlfriend. And, anyways, it's not my job to make sure they get home. Shirley should have arranged something. Oh, my! Am I ranting!???? LOL Put a few pictures on FB but now I can't get on there to add some more and edit! Frustrating. But I will share a few with you as well as one of Zoey that I just took. The caption is, "NO, I haven't seen your hat!!"
  12. Welcome to you "Newbies"!! Glad to have you join us! I am 5' tall and started at 327. I still need to lose about 50 lb. Then some plastic surgery and I should be at a reasonable weight. On a cross country RV trip... WA to NY and then OK and end up in CA for the winter. Big family wedding today and busy, busy, busy for the two weeks we'll be here. So get on LBT when I can, but not much the last week or so!
  13. Hope your garage sale goes well today!! So sorry about your teacher friend. That is so sad. I hope they pick you!! Great pictures, well written article!! Very impressive! Yesterday was BUSY!! I was so tired when we got home. And Zoey went everywhere with me. She got so exhausted that she doesn't want to wake up this morning! I got up early and went to get my hair done.. left here a little after 7 a.m. She was still sleeping on our bed. When I got back around 9 a.m. she was STILL sleeping.. between the pillows. Eventually Earl got her up and put her on my lap. Now it's 10:30 a.m. and she's STILL sleeping... on my lap. She will have to wake up soon because the coffee is catching up with me and I need to make a trip... and I probably should get in the shower soon. Wedding is at 2 p.m. and reception at 6 p.m. So I'm wearing slacks and a blouse to the wedding, the coming back and changing into my long dress. It's supposed to be in the high 80's today... beautiful weather, so I think Candice should be having good weather for the big birthday bash, too. Anyways... we all went to a nail place yesterday around lunch time... 11 of us...two of my sisters and 8 nieces and grand-nieces. Zoey went in her red bag and she was SO good!! One of the grand-nieces took her out several times to play with her and take her for a walk. The rest of the time she just quietly waited in her little bag. One of my nieces brought sub sandwiches... and LOTS of wine!! Oh, my... she gets this wine from a guy who makes it himself and she had blackberry merlot and it was really good. After that... went back to my sister's house, Shirley... and just hung out. I stayed home and babysat the lasagna and garlic bread when they went to church for the rehearsal. Had to put the stuff in the oven so it would be hot when they got back.. and she bought chicken wing Soup from a local restaurant. So I put it in crock pot to keep it warm. It was VERY spicy. I had a few bites and gave it to Earl! I was going to spend the night since I was going to go for that hair appointment so early with my sister. But... about the time both babies were screaming at the same time, I decided maybe I'd rather just go back to the RV with Earl and get up early to drive back! Shirley said she didn't get to bed until 2 a.m. Bride and her baby spent the night, and my other sister is there now, too... Mary Lou... so I figured I'd end up on the couch and not get any sleep! So..we've been running since our feet hit the ground Tuesday afternoon and no end in sight! After wedding today, church tomorrow morning... probably pick up Mom & Uncle Ed, cuz Earl told his brother we'd be there! So then they'll want to go out to lunch. And then my sister said she's having a "cook-out" later. Monday we're going out to what used to be "Aunt Genny's Cottage". All my sisters, Mom and probably some of the nieces and their kids. My cousin, Nikki owns the place now and has completely remodeled it. Pretty much tore it down and started over. So all the kids... even the older ones like our Tracy, Chris, Jodie, and Steve have fond memories of going out to Lime Lake and swimming, fishing and boating. So, that's Monday. Tuesday is the "Sisters' Wine Tour".... limo for four hours taking us to some Finger Lakes region wineries. Wednesday.... classmate of ours wants us to come over... for dinner, I think! Saturday morning I am trying to organize a get-together with some of our high school classmates to start planning our 50th reunion.. which is next year! WHY... when I live on the west coast... do I have to be the one to get this thing going???? HELLO??? Anyway... we are staying until just after the Labor Day weekend. Earl has an RV oil change scheduled for the day after.... If they finish early enough, maybe we'll leave that day.. or the next morning. We are stopping for the night to visit old friends in Ohio. Wife was my roommate in the hospital when Tracy was born and we've kept in touch all these years. Whenever we are in the area, we try to stop and see them and we play Pinochle for HOURS!
  14. Well put... all of you!! All I can really add is AMEN!!!
  15. HAHAHA! You're a kick! We did have a good visit, didn't we! And guess what just occured to me today!??? Next year is our 50th high school reunion so we have to come to Buffalo again next summer!! NO RV next year, though. That's a long, tough trip, so we'll probably just drive the car next year. But maybe we can meet up again then with you & Julie. But we will be moving faster than 300 miles a day if we drive the car!! Earl said he wanted to cook dinner for my sister and her husband tonight... the one whose yard we have our RV parked in. So I suggested those steaks you brought us... he said NO, he's NOT sharing those!! LOL!! So he made a big pot of spaghetti sauce with gr. turkey. You'll get the weight back off. You know what to do!! I think most of us have a huge self image problem!! Actually... we're not going back! We'll leave here two days after Labor Day and head down across Ohio diagonally this time, and in to Indiana eventually picking up I-44 which will take us through Missouri and then Oklahoma. We'll spend a few days in Oklahoma before going south through part of Texas... down to El Paso and then pick up I-10 which will take us all the way to the Palm Springs area. May get to meet some more LBTers along the way!! LOL Laura... you had me cracking up.... having an affair with the repairman, etc.!! Hope things start going better. Maybe the pregnancy test was wrong!!
  16. Finally got the internet working at my sister's! Wanted to post photos from Karen's visit with us in Indiana.
  17. Don't understand why I didn't see those last two posts!! Very weird! Anyway.... Linda, so sorry to hear about your friend's husband. That is tragic! And Cora and the birthday drama! You have enough going on in your life to be throwing an impromptu birthday party for 25 people!! And, Karrie.... sorry to hear about what is going on in your life, too. Although, once the hurt is healed... probably a good decision to make. It will all work out, I'm sure. Moving to AZ... as much as you hate the weather in OR, excellent idea! Sounds like you have a good plan... just have to get past the roughspots you're facing initially. Hugs, especially to you two!!!
  18. I will have fun at the wedding, but I'm almost looking forward to the "Sisters'" Wine tour on Tuesday even more! Sister #4 gets in at midnight tonight. The four of us and two sisters that lived behind us when we were growing up are going on this wine tour. One of the other sisters has rented a limo for us for 4 hours on Tuesday. It should be a blast. OMG this dog is wearing me out!! Have to keep throwing her toys down the hall so she can bring them back. That's after I took her for a walk and two scooter rides! Visited with Mom & Uncle Ed again today. When we were leaving Ed said "see you at the wedding".... which to me was a subtle message... you've been here every day. Don't come back tomorrow! LOL! We went to see one of Earl's brothers today too, and had lunch with one of our high school classmates. We need to start planning our 50th reunion (next year). So>>> I am TIRED!!
  19. Our pleasure... to meet both you and Julie, and then another Karen from another thread in Indiana! What a kick to get to meet all these bandsters!! Had a great visit. Corn was wonderful... didn't eat the steaks yet. Thank you so much! Yes, Julie... wish we could've spent more time! And wish we could've sampled what was in that crock pot! LOL! It was just one of those stressful days and we WERE tired! Oh, goodness!! Reminds me that our youngest son, Steve, carried a dried up old ND salamander around in the pocket of his jeans for a few weeks.... Wouldn't give it up until the tail fell off! Gross! I think he was about 3-4 yrs old. Well... I've gotta quit and go to bed even though there are about 5 more pages, at least, that I haven't read yet!! Tired!! Busy, busy days now that we are here in Buffalo.... spending time with my sisters, Mom & Uncle Ed, went to see one of Earl's sisters today and I'm sure tomorrow he will want to see his brothers. Then we have wedding stuff all weekend and more things going on next week!!
  20. I will run it by Earl, but at the moment it looks crazy! Tomorrow I am sure Earl will want to go see his two brothers. We went to see his oldest sister today... She and her husband are not in good shape!! I think they are around 80 yrs old. That was after we took Zoey to my cousin for grooming and took Mom and Uncle Ed out to lunch at Olive Garden... We had soup and salad. Mom looks okay, but she fell twice over the weekend and she has a torn muscle in her thigh. I think Uncle Ed looks awful. I know it's just been a month or so since his bypass surgery, but his color is terrible... like grey, and he is very thin. Lost a lot of weight and he didn't have any to lose! Both of the walking with walkers when Tracy and I couldn't persuade them to use canes when we were here a year ago. Friday is mani/pedi and lunch with nieces, sisters, etc. Saturday... all day wedding stuff. Hair in morning, wedding at 2pm and reception at 6pm. Sunday I think we are supposed to get together with one of my cousins.... her 60th birthday I think. Next day we're supposed to go out to another cousin's for lunch.. Lime Lake cottage where we used to hang out with her Mom, my Aunt Genny. Tuesday is our "Sisters Wine Tour"... all four of us and two sisters from the neighborhood we grew up in... have a limo rented from 11 a.m. until 3 pm. So... that leaves one week before we leave! Have to get together with former classmates one day, too, to start planning our 50th reunion next year. I'm thinking if we could get to Toronto at all it would probably be next Wed. or Thurs. Yes, Zoey has certainly changed our lives. Did you see my FB note the other day??? Earl was sitting in his recliner in the morning reading the paper with the dog in his lap and he says, "I think getting a dog was the BEST idea I ever had!!" BIL put me on his internet again tonight. Didn't last long last night. But tonight seems to be working. Still having trouble with my back and left foot is still nnumb and tingly.
  21. Got it. No Wi Fi here so have to use my phone. But was able to accept the request. When i get a good connection i will email photos to you.
  22. Nice visit with KarenIn! Thanks for driving up, and thanks for the fruit! Can't find you on Facebook.... see if you can find me.
  23. Yeah... good for you, Steph! I gotta go to bed. I am WAY tired! And I remember all those old shows too.... !!!
  24. My niece says weather report for next weekend in Buffalo is GREAT, so hopefully you will have good weather for your party, too! Sure, I'd be interested in the beading stuff... Be happy to pay for shipping. How much stuff do you have?? Beads, etc? Yeah... remember last summer when I had my knee replacement. I think he broke my first ice machine by putting big chunks of ice that he made in bowls in the freezer in it!! So, here's my update!! Couldn't get online for the past few days. We were just plain too busy in Wisconsin... 5K walk, Tig took me to Lands End outlet, her and I went to an art show... so even though I didn't get to walk the walk, I did walk with her at the art show and shopping. It was hot and muggy. It was okay... made it by stopping and resting now and then. Left foot still numb/tingly, but back is a little better. So.. Tuesday met up with Julie in Bismarck ND. Nice lady. She came out to the RV park we were staying at and visited with us for an hour or so. Wanted to take us out to dinner, but we were kind of tired that day. Fourth day on the road and the day before had been really stressful... trouble finding an RV park and then Earl got so nasty I was ready to unhitch the car and drive the rest of the way by myself! Whenever things go wrong it's all my fault! So I decided then and there that we were NOT going more than 300 miles a day! So the next day we stopped at Alexandria MN, which is where "Apples" from the "I'm here to help" thread was going to be for a dental appt. There was a big Super Walmart there, so we did a little shopping first for some odds and ends we needed. Then went to the RV park and Karen was just a few minutes behind us. So we visited a while and then she took us out to dinner... rode in her truck. She and I split a Walleye dinner. OH.. that was GOOD fish! So... I had planned to go on to our friend's in WI the next day, but it was a little too far for one day so we stopped 100 miles short and got to her house the next morning about 10:30 a.m. She'd left the door open for us, so we had plenty of time to set up, and relax until she got home from work. That night we went out to another fish dinner! Her tenant that lives in her downstairs apartment came with us, and another couple who are friends of hers met us there. It was a fun evening. And I already told you all the stuff we did on Saturday. But... Saturday morning she made us the most delicius frittata! Egg whites, a ton of veggies.... like spinach, etc, and some low fat cheese. It was wonderful. And when we got home Saturday night she made her "famous" white chicken chili! She is quite a good cook! She made it last time we were there, so I bugged her to make some for us again! And she gave us the leftovers, so I'll be having some of it tomorrow! OH... that reminds me... when "Apples" came to visit, she brought us frozen steaks from a farmer near them, and fresh sweet corn from her farm! Finished that tonight. I thought we'd be getting to Buffalo on Tuesday, but depends on what kind of time we make tomorrow. And finding RV parks from here on is difficult. Spent more time on the computer this afternoon trying to find a place 300 miles away but it's hard to find anything between 250 miles and 350 miles. So we'll probably stop short and likely not make it by Tuesday. But that's okay. Wedding is not until Saturday. Just need time to get my nails done. Sister is making me hair appt for Saturday. OH... must'nt forget to say we had coffee with Linda and Mel this morning at a Starbucks south of Milwaukee!! It had to be a short visit, but was so good to see them! And when we got to our RV park tonight, a lady from the 60+ thread came to visit! Her name is Karen. She had her surgery the summer of 08 and she's lost 145 lb and is now on maintenance! I am so disappointed that I forgot to take pictures of Julie, and of Linda and Mel! But,here are photos of both Karens!
  25. Yes... do enjoy the scenery. We try to not drive more than 300 miles a day. Have to check my map. I think we do follow 80/94 after WI and etc. Leave Madison probably sunday morning. Hmmm.... don't think we'll be near Kansas City at all. Will be coming across MO on 44 to OKC, but will keep you in mind in case plans change.
