yeah, I think I did post a picture of his plane. Pretty exciting day for us! Enjoyed hearing about your son's homecoming dance! Our grandson went to his last weekend. DIL sent us a picture of him all dressed up. girl he went with wanted to meet him there! Kids?? Go figure! Yeah! good day, and lots of news. anxious to see photos of the two dogs, Steph! Earl didn't fuss much about the earrings at all! He cringed a little when we were at the Marine base the other day and I showed him some that I liked that were about $350! So he was pretty happy about $99! Just got back from pool/hot tub. ready to veg with some TV now! Later, Chicks!

Hi, Gang! OMG, what a day!! we were out & about today... went to the mall when I remembered I had a gift card with $20+on it, won it in that TOPS contest before I left WA. So we went to Sears and discovered they had a pair of diamond studs, $259, 1/2 ct,14k gold, on sale for $99.. so I got them! they're not the most impressive diamonds you've ever seen, but I like them. They're nice. I'll get more expensive ones when I earn them!! I still have a few pounds to lose before I can wear these! Second thrill of the day, and considerably MORE significant!! ... I think I've told you before that our oldest son was dx'd with eye cancer a few years back, lost his left eye and still has to be screened regularly for metastasis. Also, he's been building an "experimental" plane for 12 1/2 years!! Well, the day he called us to tell us about the eye cancer, after many tears, he said "I WILL finish my plane and I WILL fly it!!" And, guess what???? He finished it a few weeks ago, FAA inspection on the 17th, and today.... HE FLEW IT!! Earl & I both cried when he called to tell us he flew it this morning for the very first time!! I can't tell you what that means to us!! GOD IS GOOD!! :tt2::tt1::tt1::tt1: :Dancing_biggrin::plane::plane::plane::cool2::Dancing_biggrin::w00t:

Election: you are right on! Too many people do not realize the significance, especially spiritual, of this election! Pre-op work... yes, get your body ready for change in eating habits, and your head ready, too! Head hunger is a big battle! We are OVERCOMERS! WELCOME to BANDLAND!!

No biggie! He's acting normal so he apparently doesn't know how much he pissed me off..... YET!:biggrin::biggrin:

Ah, there you are! We were posting at the same time so I missed yours! Glad you had a good time! We were next door from 4 pm until 9 pm and I was BAD! But a fun evening! Five of nine of us there were born in 1943, me the youngest of those! Other four a little younger. So there was a lot of teasing about oldest vs. youngest.

Good Morning! I'm here lurking. Margarita party next door was fun. Sorry, I never did switch to wine! Also ate 3 chicken wings and a few meatballs, uh oh... and a couple of little mini muffin brownies! DH will make me pay. He's already lecturing me ad nauseum about how many carbs I had this week! Huh?? I guess he's talking about the 1/2 pancake I had at the pancake Breakfast Wed. morning!! Half of a skinny little pancake with sugar free syrup! He's only doing this today because after fixing me my little eggbeaters omelet this morning he fixed himself a big plate of blueberry pancakes and eggs. So it's his guilt speaking. but he's successfully pissed me off and it's not even 9 a.m. yet!:cursing: Watching Billy the Bully out the front window! He's still dominating the hummingbird feeder and exhausting himself trying to keep all the other birds away. :scared2::thumbup:

Just checkin' in! Fills...I had three before I really felt the right amount of restriction. When it's where it should be, you should feel full much faster. Very often, I will start to feel "full" with the first one or two bites. Then I am reminded to slow down and CHEW or I won't be able to eat. That is how I would describe it, anyway, and for me... that is the right amount of restriction. I had my first three fills within the first three months, with the first being about 6 weeks post-op. Then I went 6 months with none because we were "snowbirding". As soon as we got back to WA state, before we even went home, I had my 4th fill.. that was this past April. Then I had my 5th three months after that, in July at my one year check-up. And that one is still "working" just fine for me, so I'll probably be okay until we get back home next spring. Mine are always done under fluoroscopy by my doc's nurse practitioner. It's amazing how much easier it gets as the weight comes off!! Up until these last two, she always struggled getting the needle placement right, even when the doc was there helping her. And he did the first one with a great deal of difficulty. The last one, in particular, was a "piece of cake"! she got in and was finished before I knew what was happening! I think they usually deaden the area first, but I'm not sure about that. Then I have to sit there and drink a whole glass of water in front of them before they let me go.

I have Medicare/Tricare For Life (ret. military dependent) and I had an interesting experience. When I got my EOB for the surgery, I saw that Medicare denied the hospital portion of the bill. Then I remembered reading somewhere (here probably) that Medicare required an overnight stay and I went home the same day. So I called Medicare to see if that was the problem. It took a couple of days for a call back, but the person I talked to was very nice and in looking up my account, said that the hospital had coded their bill incorrectly and that I should call them and tell them to resubmit it with the correct code and it would be paid. So I did that, but the person I talked to at the hospital told me that my balance was $0. I told him what Medicare instructed me to tell him and he said it didn't matter because the hospital had already written it off! go figure! Forgive me if I already told this story, but, a word to the wise... make sure you check to see if you are required to have an overnight stay or not.

Wish you could see this! We hung a hummingbird feeder high in a palm tree at the front of our RV site. I'm watching this big, fat green hummingbird I've just named "Bully" guarding that thing like it was Fort Knox! He's sitting just a little above it and around to the opposite side. Every time another hummingbird tries to come and drink from the feeder, he dives down and chases them away! One got smart and brought a couple of friends. while he was chasing two of them off, the third one was able to get a drink! He's being a real SNOT! It's pretty fascinating, actually! How do I tell him, we've got plenty of stuff to refill it??

good afternoon, everyone! internet access slightly improved but have to use DH laptop. Sitting outside on the patio w/very good reception here. Saw the article about Fergie in this morning's paper. Have fun, Janet! Hope I take it easy on the liquid calories today, too, as the neighbors invited us over for "Happy Hour" and I think they're fixing margaritas! Maybe I'll bring a bottle of wine... fewer calories, I think. Figured out today that I'd shorted myself on one exercise session, so I updated my signature. slight weight gain this week, though.... we won't talk about that. I'm doing my usual... 3 1/2 lb loss X2, then a little gain. next week I'll be back down again. It was very nice to get a new military ID this week with a little better picture and the weight changed!

You're doing great, Don!!

HI, Live near Janet only in the winter! We live in WA state but winter down here in Desert Hot Springs not far from Indio where Janet lives. Good to have her back, isn't it!! Gail, Have you heard about the "5 Day Pouch Test"?? You can google it and find out all about it. Basically, you go back to liquids two days, then I think it's soft two days... etc. Can be a good "kick start" if you kind of need a kick in the butt! Helps get you back on track. I did it last summer, not necessarily because I was slipping... I don't really remember why I decided to do it. I think my weight loss was stalled and I wanted to shake things up. It worked nicely!

That's very kind of you, Roxie! Everyone her has something of value to offer and we're glad you're here, too!
-
CONGRATS!! That's GREAT!! Mine was almost 64 when I started my pre-op diet and now it's below 50, so I KNOW how good that feels.
-
Thanks, Steph! I looked at all of those and started a QVC wish list so I can let Earl look at the ones I like. They're alot less $$ than others I've been looking at! I just might go for that. He wants me to go to a jeweler and have one made! He doesn't know what kind of money he's talking about! Pair I liked at the exchange yesterday was around $350, I think. EBay guy emailed me and said he sells singles, so I might look at some of his, too. Gosh it's nice to have you back!! It's going to take some time for you to get back in the groove! New kitten!! That's surprising. You know I'm a cat person! Although there are days when I'd like to toss that mean cat of ours out the door! She's been good lately but she is miserable because it's too hot for her. Earl tried to get her to sit out on the patio in the shade with us yesterday but she was just freaking out and wanted to go back inside. He bought her a little fan that is just for her and she doesn't like that either!!

Gone all day today so just time for a quick check in. We went to the Marine base because I needed a new ID card since I'm turning 65 next month!! I was psyched to get a new picture and change the weight!! Then the lady was too quick and had it all typed up and ready to have me sign & laminate before I realized what happened! So I asked her if it was too late to change the weight!! I briefly told her my story and she was delighted to retype it for me!! I was happy! We agreed to cheat a little and put it at 200 with my complete confidence that I will be somewhat below that when I get my next one in 4 years!! Went to the exchange after that. We were ready for lunch and Earl wanted to go to Domino's for a pizza!! So I ate at the exchange and got a BBQ pork on rice lunch special. The lady felt bad because they were short handed and she had to make me wait so long so she filled the styrofoam thing up with rice and then kept piling the BBQ pork on top!! I thought she'd never stop. So I ate maybe 1/3 of it! Earl ate the rest when he came back from eating his 10" pizza!! I found clothes in the clearance room!! I am a GOOD shopper!! I found a nice pair of pin stripe cotton pants.... $1.94! Also a polo shirt, same price, nice quaility... I think it's 555... and I think it used to be the Levi brand. One other shirt for $3.99. I really don't need any more clothes, but couldn't pass up the bargains. AND I looked at the diamond studs. I'm going to have a hard time finding someone who will sell me one. And I want to get a nice one, so a pair is going to cost more than I want to spend. So now I'm emailing eBay jewlers who have a good approval rating or whatever that is they call that, to see if one of them will sell me ONE nice diamond earring. I want 14k yellow gold, princess cut, not too big, but not too small either!!

Have to have to console to play any of the games. The Wii Fit is an accessory, as the other games are. The console comes with one CD, Wii Sports, and that is fun, too. But the Wii Fit is the balance board that weighs you and tells you waht your BMI is, tracks your exercise, and has yoga, balance exercises, strengthening exercises, etc.

Just a suggestion, but if you have a Target, Wal-Mart, etc. near you, try to talk to someone who works in the electronics dept and make him your new best friend. Try to find out when they usually get their shipments in. Ask if ther is a phone number you can call, like daily, to find out if they got any in and find out what time you should call. There is a Target a block away from us at home, and when I did that, the guy told me to call every morning at 8:30 a.m. to find out if they got any in overnight. Then when they get some in you have to get there quick as a bunny!!

I agree!! However, if I were in your position right now, I think I would have Protein Drinks every morning, small salad with some Protein on it for lunch, Lean Cuisine for dinner. My doc tld me I had to lose 10% of my body weight prior to surgery.. that would've been over 30 lb. I lost 18 lb and he was happy with that. My BMI was over 60 and he wanted it under, which I did manage to do... just barely! Haven't watched that in a while but always enjoy it! I think I have a few episodes on TiVo that I haven't watched yet. -
I think she'll be back on within the next few days. She said she did a little "skimming" over the weekend. Her mornings have been quiet giving her some alone time. I think she'll be feeling up to dealing with all of us soon!!:tongue2::crying:

You're right, Becky! Monday... new start to the week! Let's get back on track!! Janet will be back soon! Her brother's funeral was today. We went to the viewing yesterday. She's hanging in there! She's going to be doling out some of her "tough love" if you gals don't get back to basics!! :tongue2:

Hi! My daily online session! I am getting more than aggravated as no attempt is being made to fix this problem. Time Warner is supposed to have a new system in place about the middle of next month and I htink that's why they really don't care if they make this one work or not! Not to mention, this one is out of Montana and they have no one here locally to work on it. So they'd have to fly someone down and I"m sure they're not about to do that when they're about to be replaced with a better system! Have had Janet and family on my mind today as the funeral was this morning. We went to the viewing yesterday. She appreciates all your expressions of concern... she's getting through, but will be glad when today is over. She looked great! Got to meet her son and DIL.

Great pictures, Candice! Okay, here I go again.... I see a strong mother-daughter resemblance here, too! Waiting to hear more about your dog, Steph! We know you are excited! HOpe you got some rest!
