Thanks for all the kudos!! I took the earrings to TOPS with me... just in case! So, after we all dried our tears, the TOPS ladies helped me put them in!

Yes, it is a beautiful sight!! Even the mountains across the street from us have snow on top! Hmmm.... I'm sorry, but I think the two things go hand in hand. So maybe you aren't eating correctly, but proper restriction is a BIG incentive towards establishing better eating habits! I know that when I know I can only eat "this much" food, I am not going to "waste" that space on bread and foods that are not giving me the quality nutrition that I need. And by this time next year you will have solidly established healthier eating habits and the temptation will not be as much of an issue as it has in the past. Exactly... restriction, good eating habits go hand in hand! You expressed it very well! Free fills... GREAT benefit! I hit -100 lb today and you will be there soon, to!! Congrats!! Do you have a gall bladder??? Sounds suspiciously like gall bladder.

LOOK AT MY TICKER!! I DID IT!! - 3.6 lb this week so I made my -100 milestone!! DH went to TOPS early and was waiting at the door for me when I got there. My Wii said I wasn't quite there, but it hasn't been agreeing with the TOPS scale so he thought I would make it today. And he was right. So, after we all shed a few tears, some of the TOPS ladies helped me with the earrings... I brought them with me because I was hopeful, too, but not quite as confident as DH was! So, a great day!

I guess it was just the shock. I thought WE were getting ready to go out... post office and Kmart in DHS, and I hadn't paid much attention to his rambling about the weather report and the wind, etc. He's been ignoring the stock market and obsessing over the rain and weather instead.. which is an okay thing, but pretty soon it just becomes so much blah, blah, blah to me!! So I didn't realize he wasn't going until I was on my way out the door and turning out lights... then he said, "you DO know I"m not going, right??" No, I didn't! So, I didn't tell him, but if he wasn't going, I had no intentions of limiting myself to DHS, so I headed in the other direction when I left the park! Of course, it didn't take more than 10 minutes before he started calling me on the phone! I ignored it the first time, then answered and had to listen to him throw a fit because I didn't go where he told me to go!!:biggrin::confused: And then all the lecturing about being careful and the roads are going to be flooded, and more blah, blah, blah, blah!! I usually buy way too much for ME, too, when I go out shopping, but resisited the urge today because I had this specific mission to accomplish! Plus, I've spent a fair amount of $$ on myself this past week online!! I spent my birthday money and then some! I got myself the Water warmups, which I"m waiting impatiently for since it's so cold and supposed to stay that way for the next week! And I ordered a new bluetooth earpiece... everyone complains about the two I'm using now because they're too noisy, so I ordered a Jawbone on eBay last night. And, of course, I bought those earrings last weekend. That actually was money spent previously, though, because I took back the ugly Sears earrings and got my money back! Oh, yeah, and then there was the new bathing suit and sweatsuit last week!!:biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::tt1:

If you know anyone researching self-pay LapBand in Mexico, this Dr. Kuri (near Tijuana) is highly recommended... lots of folks in WA state use him, he has a holiday give-away going on... visit this website to enter for $1000 off, one certificate a week until Christmas, on LapBand surgery, which you can give away to a friend. http://www.lapbandsurgery.com/giftaweek/caindex.html

Yeah, it's been pouring down rain since about midnight last night. I don't know how cold it is outside because our outdoor sensor got waterlogged! It says it's 74 out there and I know it's more like 44! Really frustrated because we couldn't do Water aerobics this morning. And I didn't want to sit inside ALL DAY again for a third day so I went shopping! BY MYSELF! Didn't plan to go alone, but DH insisted on staying here to babysit the awnings because the weather report said the wind was going to pick up! I protested until I realized the opportunity before me!! So I went and finished my shopping for him. That took a lot of plotting and planning because he monitors ALL our accounts EVERYDAY... ATM, checking, credit cards! Just for security purposes, which is a good idea, but then how do I get him anything without him knowing what I spent and where???? So I decided I'd get cash from the ATM to solve my problem. Great idea if you use your card on a regular basis and therefore you KNOW what the PIN# is! So, after my card got locked because of three unsuccessful attempts, I had to call the bank on my cell phone and have them unlock the card and give me a new PIN#! So, after 3 hrs out in the rain and cold, I'm back home under my warm snuggly blankets sipping my afternoon wine and happy that I've finished my shopping for DH and he has no clue what I got (gift card from a hobby shop so he can go get himself a remote control airplane... which he has been wanting for years but won't go spend the money!) Interesting side note to my shopping trip... driving the car is so weird! I don't drive very often because I so seldom go anywhere alone!! Feels strange when I get in the driver's seat because there's so much more room between me and the steering wheel than there used to be, and today I was having trouble reaching the pedals so I had to move the seat up! I may have to insist on a new smaller car!!:thumbup::confused::tt1::sad_smile: Karri, have you ever tried pineapple juice when you get stuck?? I like my Papaya tablets, but they are somewhat addicting for me. I try to avoid them for that reason. But I keep little cans of pineapple juice handy.. the acid and the slimy consistency seem to help. But if you're already stuck, you have to sip it carefully.

Congrats on the win!! We knew you could do it!! Texas Roadhouse... there was one close to us when we lived in Oklahoma. Wonderful rolls!! I loved the BBQ ribs. Never heard the term "FIRST BITE SYNDROME" until today, but I can relate. Sometimes I think I"m SOOOO hungry and then I take a bite of something... like my nightly snack, cottage cheese and peaches, usually... and right away I think, well, maybe I was hungry but now I'm not!! Our heads, and maybe even our stomachs, can send us confusing signals! -

I didn't eat salad for a long time, but once I tried it again, I had no problem with it, so that's what I usually have for lunch. Not my very favorite thing to eat, but I eat it because that's what DH fixes for me.....EVERY DAY!! (That can get old!) As far as bread goes, I really don't tolerate it very well. If it has a fairly crispy crust, it's easier, but even the 45 calorie Sara Lee gets me in trouble every time. And the thing about bread is that it fills you up too quick and leaves no room for the good stuff. You used to live outside???? We want to hear more about that, don't we??? I have stayed inside ALL DAY the past two days because it's too cold outside... well, after water aerobics, that is!! We still go to water aerobics no matter how cold and miserable. We even went in the rain yesterday. I ordered water warmups and I can't wait until they come!! Short sleeve swim sweater that will help keep me warm on these cold mornings! Pool water is hot. Otherwise I would not be able to stand it! Diamonds..... we can't have enough!! I often get teased about my wedding rings!! Added ring guard encrusted with diamonds for our 25th anniv, so my short little ring finger sports diamonds right up to the first knuckle. My dear Uncle Frank once told me I needed to get my finger stretched to accommodate it! I'm not a very glitzy person, but I do love my diamonds and I am so excited about my diamond earrings! The first pair I bought were on sale at Sears a month or so ago.... 1/2 k, 14k yellow gold.... but DH talked me in to them because they wre on sale.. $99 from $259. But they were such poor quality that they were cloudy and dull. I kept taking them out and looking at them and it just made me sick that I spent $100 bucks on them. So I took them back last weekend and bought 1/4 k at the Piercing Pagoda and I LOVE them... tiny, but sparkly and oh, so pretty! I am being so good this week trying to get that 3 lb off to make it to 100 lb... cuz I won't wear them until I get there. -

Lots of good insight and suggestions on this morning eating problem. Coincidentally, I had a bad morning today... DH always makes me a small eggbeaters omelet, usually with some kind of seafood in it. Today he put shrimp in it... cut up in little pieces. And, as always I ate it very slowly. Nevertheless, it got stuck and I was mildly uncomfortable all morning. Shrimp often gives me problems and I always eat it very carefully and slowly. I always have a cup of hot coffee about 1/2 hour before I eat. Warm/hot liquids definitely help to open things up in the morning. But, sip it slowly... don't gulp like this chick!! -

Sorry, Long... no extra heat here in CA today!! You'll have to hit up NYC for some warmth today!! They're getting all the warm weather for all of us today! -
Congrats, Long!! Sounds like you're going to be the winner!! We're under our blankies, too, but it's 47 degrees here, and pouring down rain! We're freezing. This is our "Judge Judy" and wine time, but neither of us wants to get out from under our blankie to go pour the wine, so I'm drinking my crystal lite!

Hi, Kathy!! WELCOME "HOME" (LBT)!! It WAS great to meet you and thanks so much for the wonderful brunch! Hope you get that fill you want/need!! Stand your ground! Cry and carry on! Do whatever it takes!! Throw a fit!:frown::biggrin::biggrin::cool2::biggrin::tt2::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: It is COLD here today and pouring down rain!! Was just light showers earlier, so we went to Water aerobics anyway. Pool water is HOT, and no wind, so it was fairly comfortable. Then we all went in the hottest hot tub... the one we call the "Lobster Pot". Only 9 of us showed up... less than 1/2 the normal. The die hards!
-
YOWSERS!! That gives me chills just thinking about it!! Actually, I already had chills because I"m freezing! It's 49 degrees outside, 62 inside, pouring down rain and I"m sitting under an electric throw that's on HIGH!! BUT, we DID go to water aerobics this morning anyway!! Only light showers when we left, and we had to put the CD player undercover so it woulnd't get wet. And only 9 of us showed up! Heck, you're going to get wet anyway, and the pool water is HOT, and we need our exercise!! Heck, I'll be under this blanket on the couch for the rest of the day!! I don't even want to get out from under to go potty!! The cat seems quite fascinated with watching the water trickling down the outside of the window. I think she may actually be hypnotized by now.

DH will probably be getting me some of those for Christmas (in my stocking)... maybe I should remind him!!??:frown::biggrin: My new favorite SF treats are the SF Jello pudding snacks.. I love the Rice Pudding/Cinammon one and there's another one with an exotic name that I can't remember right now, but it's vanilla pudding with caramel sauce on top. I saw it on "Biggest Loser". I am so hoping for 3 lb loss this week!! I want to get to that 100 lb mark so I can wear my new diamond studs! And the 100 lb shirt Janet made me for my birthday! I am so confident, I'm going to pack it in my swim bag Thursday morning before I go to face the scale! Anyone looking for an excuse to buy new earrings... if you have a "Piercing Pagoda" at your local mall.... all their jewelry over $30 is 1/2 price right now. I got a pair of $150 diamond studs, 14k gold for $75, and two pairs of little gold balls.. marked $49.95... half price for those too! Or, tell your "Santa" to go check it out! -

Gall bladder has been gone a long time. We made "fish soup" yesterday... tomatoes, tomato puree, carrots, celery, onion and a conglomeration of different fish... some artificial crab, tilapia, shrimp, squid, etc., chili powder, curry powder, a dash of ground cilantro, Old Bay fish seasoning and a little sea salt. It's a very weird kind of pain... doesn't feel like indigestion or anything. Kind of does remind me of when I did get gall bladder pain, but it's on the wrong side, and it is pretty close to where my port is. It lasted about an hour, which is longer than before when it happened. -

Hi, there! Yeah, we got down here early in October this year. Weather has been great. This weekend, not so much, but for the most part, very pleasant. Got that pain in my side again tonight... port site, I think. It lasted about an hour. Started not long after dinner. Don't know what's causing that. -
Yeah, hope you get it!! I've seen them here in several places this past few weeks. Does anyone know anything about the new Jillian game for the Wii Fit?? DIL wants one for Christmas and I was thinking of putting one on my "wish list", but DH thinks it might be "too physical" for me after he looked it up on the internet. Amazon.com has it, and Circuit City is advertising it in their flyer this week.

WELCOME!! You are so young!! I have grandchildren almost as old as you!!
-
Very, very small sips and very small amounts right now... like no more than 1/2 cup at a time... My doctor had me on clear liquids two weeks, full liquids two weeks, mushies two weeks before moving on to solids. also, told me 1/2 cup at a time and take at least 20 minutes to get it down. You must take it very, very slow. WArm tea is a good idea.

Okay... I kinda know where that is. Anyway, WELCOME to our 60+ thread. So you are trying to get approved for surgery? Where are you at in the process? You're on Medicare, right?? So you have to find a "Center of Excellence"? That can be a real pain! It took me a couple of weeks of phone calls, etc, to find a surgeon in WA who took Medicare, had the "Center of Excellence" seal of approval, along with the faclity he used, and didn't have a 3 year waiting list! That was spring of 2007. My initial appointment with him was the beginning of May and I had my surgery 7/20/07. Hope your experience is as effortless as mine was! And I was pretty surprised at how little I had to go through to pre-qualify! No psych, for one thing. About all I had to do was go on a pre-op diet (wanted me to lose 10% of my body weight and/or get my BMI down to 60 or below), and nutrition consult. They told me Medicare wouldn't pay for that, but believe it or not, I just got a bill for that this week!! Hope there won't be any other surprises showing up in my mail!!:biggrin: Although, I can't complain. They wrote off $100 of it so my balance is less than $75!
