Have heard that carbonate vs citrate discussion before and it makes sense, but the calcium citrate is really hard to find. I tried the petites, too, but still had trouble getting them down. Doesn't make sense to me that they are almost SQUARE!! If the object of making them "petite" is so they go down easier, then WHY SQUARE!! I just couldn't swallow them. So I went back to the chewable even though they are calcium carbonate. -

Hi, and WELCOME!! I've been taking Centrum Chewable/Senior ever since banding without a problem. Vit B gel cap is probably okay, but you might have a problem with the big Calcium cap. Might want to switch to a chewable calcium. I use the ones from Costco. And I found some fairly small Vit. C. I take fish oil, too, and most of them are pretty big. But I found some that come in little foil packets... squeeze it out into a SF pudding once a day. It has an orange taste.. kind of pleasant. -
Yeah, ain't this fun??? I just had FORTY LBT email notifications dump into my inbox!! Yep.... FORTY!!
-
LOL!! I bet you're right!! I was wondering what that post was all about!! Well, not much wind all weekend, but it sure has picked up now. Earl had to put the awning in AGAIN!! And, it's clouded up, too. It was such a beautiful morning! And it's pretty warm... like 76.

Yeah, I like the email notifications, too. And, then when I can't get to my laptop, I can preview the posts on my Blackberry. It's annoying not to get them. I agree... the darker, bold print is so much easier to read. -
I laughed 'til I cried and could barely read your post to Earl, Denise. TOO FUNNY!! I'm in.... and then we have Candice with her acupuncture experience... hey, we've got it made!! Yeah, Karri... Vegas, Baby!!

Oh... forgot... they were apparently doing maintenance on the site this morning because it was down for a while. I haven't had any email notifications all day long either. So whatever they did, they screwed some things up in the process! -

Having reached that 100# mark a few weeks ago, I know exactly what you are going through! I was so close for several weeks before I finally made it. Then came Christmas and now I'm about 1/2 lb over again!! Perfect cruise for early summer, IMHO..... Alaska! We've gone on two Alaska cruises and would go again in a heartbeat! -
I don't know what the heck they did to this site when it was down today, but it sure seems like they screwed it up big time. I tried to post and I don't know what happened but next thing I knew they had me back on page 1 of our thread!! And I haven't gotten any email messages of new posts since yesterday. Candice, You're doing great! And I LOVE your new picture. Janet, did you feel the earthquake last night?? Neighbor gave me some samples of this line of skin care products she is selling and I ended up with a big old ZIT on my chin!! I'm way too old for zits!! So much for that stuff! I like my Clinique stuff.

I don't know, but I do know that I come up against those brick walls all the time. Every 5-10 lb it seems like I settle in at that certain weight and have to fight for the next loss. Constant plateaus. It's okay.... I'm used to it so I just have to be patient until I drop again. Those are an awful lot of NSVs, though... all the health improvements are remarkable!! ASTOUNDING!! AWESOME!! How much further to goal??

So sorry to hear about your dog. That's a tough one. Easy for me to say, but try to focus on the good times you shared in those ten years. HUGS!! -
You quit that failure stuff, girl!! Like that song goes... pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start over again. The pouch test is a great idea. When I did that last summer, it was really exhilarating. Planning ahead and being determined to do it made it not hard at all. It kind of gave me a "high"!! I've been fighting some hunger the past week or so, too, off and on. Good thing there's no bad stuff around for me to get into!! Only things I ever sneak are maybe a couple of crackers dipped in humus or something! Got some Greek Yogurt at Wal-Mart the other day. Boy, is it good! It's cucumber and garlic. I had a couple of little thin wafer crackers dipped in that last night, just cuz I wanted to see what it tasted like. Tonight I want to have a small filet for dinner and a small baked potato with some of that Greek Yogurt on it!! Yummy! It's 35 calories for 2 Tbsp. But you are 1000% right!! This is no easy job! A really nice lady from ND was sitting with me in the hot tub yesterday and she was asking a lot of questions about what I can and cannot eat. So I was telling her, and explaining that there are some things I COULD eat that I simply have chosen not to. So then I told her everything I eat in a typical day, including snacks. She's a really tiny lady and she says, "Oh, my gosh! I eat that much at one meal!!" It really made me feel kind of good because it pointed out to me the extent of the effort that goes in to this! It definitely is no EASY FIX!! Sorry I made you cry yesterday! I am just so very sensitive about my legs. Hmmm.... Earl is retired military so we've been dealing with military healthcare for years. I guess I never thought of that as "socialized medicine". After he retired and went to work for Boeing we used that medical care until we both went on Medicare. Even now we only use military pharmacy. I guess we could use the Marine base medical facility when we're down here, but it's 65 miles away. "Knock on wood", neither of us has required any medical care during the months that we've been here during the last five years! That's pretty remarkable if you think about it!! If we did get sick, we're probably go to an urgent care clinic. Good grief! I think I've been working on this post for over an hour now and I still didn't respond to everything that I wanted to! But I have to have my cheese and wine before I go to choir practice!!

Spell check... if you have misspelled a word, it's underlined with little red dots. If you right click on the word, it will give you the correct spelling. I use it ALL the time! Pool.... OF COURSE, I went to the pool today!! You didn't really thing that old biddy would stop me, did you!?? These people have all seen my ugly legs, most of them for several years now, and rarely are any comments made. And Earl tells me these ladies tell him all the time how impressed they are with my weight loss/exercise efforts. And he tells me how proud he is, and gives me hugs when I need them because someone has been rude! Interestingly enough, the old biddy wasn't there today and she rarely misses. Maybe she was having a guilt attack for her rude comments! The plane, the plane.... today we went to the hobby shop again and got all the parts to fix the BIG plane and bought a small plane for him to practice with! (Well, when I say "we", I was next door browsing through Trader Joe's and buying some more white balsamic vinegar because the big bottle I bought a couple of weeks ago is just about GONE!!) When we got home, he fixed the big plane, put the little one together and we went back out to the road behind the RV park and flew the little one. He crashed it over and over without doing damage and finally figured out he needed to extend the antenna because the plane would get just so far away and it would lose power and crash! DUH!! ANTENNA... radio controlled airplane???? After that he was much more successful in controlling the plane. He flew it ad nauseum and crashed it quite a few more times before he finally was getting close to what I would call a "landing"!! This one crashes without damage because it's so much smaller, flexible prop, goes slower & is much lighter. I kept whining that it was getting dark and I had to pee and he finally quit! I really did have to pee, but I also wanted to go back to the RV because it was getting late and I missed my afternoon glass of wine!! [/center] I agree with mango24. Even if she's 80, she's still a B*tch (yes, I meant with a capital . People who are happy and content with themselves don't make hurtful comments to others. Those that do, often are only lashing out at others their own inner miseries. I'd say next time be just as inappropriate as her and either just stick out your tongue at her so she realizes how ridiculous she is or you can go down to her level and ask her if she intends to get plastic surgery for all the wrinkles in her face and neck. I like that.... PS for the wrinkles!

Vinegar is one of my very favorite things!! i just went through a large bottle of white balsamic vinegar from Trader Joe's in about 2 weeks!! I bought another one today! Cut yourself some slack! "messed up"? You've had a lot to deal with, in addition to the holidays! ... so get through this weekend. Then, if you want a "new start", consider the "Five Day Pouch Test". I did it this summer to give myself a new "jumpstart" and it's really quite invigorating. You can google it for more info, but I've talked about it before... it gets you back to basics... two days of protein drinks, etc... gradually gets you back to hard protein over five days. It was really quite effective for me. If you've been drifting from "the plan" as we know it as bandsters, it will give you a new beginning. Today was my official weigh in day, and I was really quite content to be up 1 lb considering the holidays and DD & SIL visiting here for about a week. I've been back on track for the past week and my Wii Fit says I lost about 2 1/2 lb this past week, so that tells you.... I gained about 3 1/2 lb over the holidays. BTW, for those of you struggling with eating too fast, etc, I bought some toddler forks/spoons at Wal-Mart this week back in the baby dept. Package of about 4 forks, 4 spoons for a couple of bucks. It will help to slow me down. -
LOL!! That's a good one! Yeah, she knew! I just have to ignore her, I think. Letter sounds like a good idea, but I just want to forget about it at this point, not draw more attention to it... and not sure I want to let her know she hurt me!
-
Thanks for all your support, gals! Yeah, she's kind of a dimwit and she's 80 some years old, so NO Sophia Loren, for sure. And not much tact! Funny thing is, Earl had an encounter with her this morning, too. He was walking by their place and saw her husband struggling with their sliding glass door. So he stopped to help him and she tried to run interference and not let him talk to him. She kept saying he didn't have time because he had to take her to the doctor. The door was off track and the poor old guy was having a tough time getting it to close! So he just ignored her and helped him anyway!

Karri: Hope you don't have to wait too long to get over the mountains to your doctor!! DD is reporting bad flooding in her area, too. She works in the health office at their local high school and kids living in certain areas were told to call their parents to figure out transportation home because the school buses could not get through. I heard the passes are all closed, too. The two little foster boys DD has are going to be moved to their grandma's, but not until the highways open again. You're doing great, Candice! Steph, how's the weather in your area now?? I think I fell asleep during one of those Sudoku rounds again last night, but while I was playing on Earl's account so that's okay!!:biggrin: Don't want "him" to beat my scores even though I know it's me and not really him!! Janet, any improvement in the blahs??? I think it's JANUARY! Couple of my Facebook friends... even the men, complained of the blahs this week! Earl crashed his RC plane again yesterday! I think he bought more than he can handle!! He's now talking about trying to sell it on eBay and buying a smaller one until he learns how to fly them! I think he should just keep it and buy a smaller one. Problem in the RV is storage!! In the daytime it sleeps on our bed. At night, it gets moved onto the dashboard. It can't stay there in the daytime because that's the cat's lounging place.. in the sun on the dashboard on her special blanket! Back to the airplane... he powered it up too much AGAIN, just like the day he was practicing taxiing it. So when it took off, it went straight up in to the sky... you can see this on Facebook. It got so high and went so far away that the radio could no longer control it. He kept trying to circle it, but he was way over compensating and overreacting to what was going on and eventually it just nose dived. He went in to a panic and took off across the desert on foot trying to find it. I remained a little more calm, and I'd seen approximately where it went down. So I got in the car and found the house where I thought it had crashed and just driving by slowly I spotted it nose first in the ground right next to the carport. Funny thing was... out there in this driveway was a throw pillow???? And the plane had come down right up against it! I mean, another couple of inches to the right and it would've landed on the pillow! Funny, huh?? Well, not so much, I guess!!:cool: So, we now need another propeller, engine mount and nose cone! And a new, smaller airplane that will be easier to control and cheaper to fix!! Okay... this is already way too long... but I have to tell you about this horrible experience I had today. Well, I guess it wasn't exactly horrible so much as hurtful! I was in the hot tub with this lady from my water aerobics class when she says, "I probably shouldn't say this, but....." and I knew she was going to make some comment about my legs. My fat, ugly, grotesque legs...! So she asks me if, when I lose my weight, I'm going to have surgery on my legs. This same lady, when she found out I'd lost almost 100 lb a month or so ago said, "Oh, that's why you have all that extra skin on your legs!" So this lady is not exactly subtle! Then she says, "Now don't let this keep you from coming to the pool!" Geez! So I came home all depressed and cried on Earl's shoulder for a while. I already hate my legs... it's a sensitive subject and I don't need stupid old ladies making rude comments! Okay... I got that off my chest!!:cursing::wink2::cursing::eek:

I'm with you, girl! I'm cooking cabbage for the third time in a week. First time I used it in one of Janet's "One Pot Wonders". Then I made a sort of home made sauerkraut, threw in some carrots and sliced up hot dogs and took it to a pot luck. Not a scrap was left so I guess it was good! I cooked it in some white balsamic vinegar with a few packets of Splenda. Today I'm making some fish chowder in the crockpot... cabbage, couple of cans of diced tomatoes, can of tomato sauce and a couple cans of Water, carrots, onions, celery, mushrooms, onions and 1lb of mixed seafood that I bought at Wal-Mart... artificial crab, shrimp, squid, calamari, etc. Spiced it up with a little curry powder, chili powder, ground cumin, ground cilantro, Lawry's seafood seasoning. Smells wonderful. Low carb, low cal, lots of fiber, good quality protein. Mmmmmm! AND, it'll feed us for several days! -
I recorded that Biggest Loser hour. Didn't watch it yet. I am listening to very loud snoring from across the room, too! I guess it's bedtime!
-
I think it was on one of these threads that I read that salads should not be eaten. So I didn't have any for at least six months! But I finally tried eating it again and had no problem at all. Now I have one almost every day. If your surgery was less than a month ago, you are still in the healing stage. And you will need a couple of fills before you have good restrictoin. So it's not unusual that you've lost only 6 lb. Follow all the rules/guidelines your doctor has given you and don't fret about the weight loss right now.
-
How about that "Second Chance Harvey"? I want to go see that. Previews they're showing on TV look cute and I like dustin Hoffman. Marley and Me is supposed to be cute, but reviews also say it's a "tear jerker"! It's not uncommon to get depressed right after the holidays. You had family around, etc., then all of a sudden they're gone; and then throw in the recent loss of your brother.
-
Change the phrase "I HOPE" to "I WILL"! You CAN do it! My starting BMI was almost 64. It just takes determination, making the right food choices and exercise.
-
Hmmm.... my sister woke up with one of those headaches today, too! Earl gets them in the middle of the night and ends up spending half the night in his recliner. Gosh!!! Hope you start feeling better soon!! DD is still sick, too! Still in Vegas and flight to Seattle delayed by a couple of hours. Can't walk around and enjoy anything because it's too cold and windy and she is still so sick she gets out of breath trying to walk. Must be a potent virus going around!! And she is asthmatic so everything hits her harder. But you've been sick about as long as she has, I think!! You're really making me feel guilty! I need to start logging my food/calories again! Those are beautiful!! Did you see the pictures I posted on Facebook of the one our DIL made us??? All the squares that she had everyone color!! Really special!! I've crocheted a LOT of afghans, but never tried to make a quilt! I sent several of you a Facebook friend suggestion for Nicole/Forgive7X7... so if you don't recognize her name, that's who it is. It's amazing how many "bandsters" there are on Facebook now. Some of them, I'm not sure what their LBT screen name is, so I just have to trust that I really do know them from LBT!
