We haven't had much this winter, so can't complain, but I still hate it!! After church, stayed inside ALL day!

Wow!! Karri, you've had quite a ride! Hope things start getting better FAST!! So, you did NOT have the flu, right? You just started throwing up? Glad you found another apartment that quickly. TERRIBLE utility bills!! Hope Janet & Candice had a GREAT time in Vegas! Probably will be heading home soon.

WELCOME! Sounds like you're not tight enough. Another fill should help a lot. How many fills have you had? I was banded 7/20/2007. I've had 5 fills and have fairly good restriction, but planning to go in 2nd week in Feb and will probably ask for another small one. I'm losing steadily, but only averaging about 5 lb/month.

Checkin' in. Not much going on. Quiet here and everywhere today. We had a few rain drops today. Nothing to amount to anything. Quartzsite trip was fun.

My seminar was here in Palm Springs, with Janet's doctor. I remember the question of age coming up and I believe he said he'd banded a man in his mid-70's. But I think this varies by doctor. I've head some say their doctor wouldn't do it over 60, others over 65. But, if Mom really wants it, I'd encourage her to look in to the possibility!

Nice you had a visit with your son. We had a similar visit with our youngest son this past summer... hadn't seen him in 2 years!! TOO LONG!! Sorry to hear about your kidney stone! Have any "secret" seafood recipes for us??? Seafood is my favorite thing.. often have it 3X a day! You see... that's why we have TWO laptops! We each have our own. Sharing doesn't work well!! We tried that! Glad you are enjoying TX!!

Vegas trip really sounds like fun. You sure worked yourself a couple of DEALS!! You're going to have a great time. Hope you take lots of pictures. And, I CAN'T picture you in red hair!! I vote NO! Yes, I hope to find a way to keep in touch with that lady... Sally. Hope she will be at the pool tomorrow. She said she's just her for this week. Several people in here have those Segway things... people right behind us have two and a few streets over, another one. Well, they don't lock them up at night. DH even locks up my scooter... locks it to the RV steps. Next door neighbors leave their bikes, etc unsecured all the time. Well, last night the Segway on the next block disappeared! That's about $5 grand worth of toy! I've seen the lady use it to walk her dog... chatted with her about it one day. Really annoying. RV park is gated... gates lock at 5 pm, gates to the desert or locked, and we have 24 hr security guard. But these thefts keep happening. Really a shame. We think it's someone inside. Almost has to be because of all the securty. Didn't do too bad food-wise today considering we were out "playing" all day. Drove to AZ this morning. After the BIG RV tent, we went searching for the healthiest lunch we could find... amidst a myriad of typical "fair" food. Finally found a BBQ place that had "smoked" potatoes.... like a baked potato wrapped in foil and cooked in a smoker. Paid $2 extra for chopped brisket on top. DH ate about half of the potato.. but I wouldn't let him have any of the meat because he had a hamburger! It was really good and a good choice. Later we stopped at Sizzler on the way home and I had Sr. Fish Filet dinner... two fish filets, but they were fried. I could only eat one because I also hit the salad bar before my dinner came. Took way too much salad and could only eat about 1/3 of it. Have to weigh in tomorrow morning and I"m concerned because my legs and feet are swollen from sitting ALL day... in the car, on the scooter for SIX hours, then back in the car for about another 2 1/2 hrs! UGH! Drinking a little wine now... it'll make me pee and pee and pee and maybe I can get rid of some of this fluid! Good theory, huh???? Yes, seriously need to plan a group Vegas trip!!

YAY!! Someone in my corner!! :tongue::biggrin: I think I'm ready to be a blond again... at least some blond highlights! I didn't get her email address. I was in the hot tub... she was standing next to it looking down at me... I had nothing to write with & neither did she. I'm hoping the sister-in-law who told her to come and talk to me because I'd lost 100 lb will come and tell me. She said NO ONE in her family know about her surgery except her husband and daughters. So, SIL sent her to talk to me without knowing we'd both had lapband surgery! So I have to respect that, but I will definitely try to get contact info if possible! We're going to AZ tomorrow, so won't have another chance to look for her until Thursday. I told her I didn't think she has enough restriction because she told me she can eat as much as she wants... BUT, she also described "first bite syndrome" and said that happens sometimes. So, not enough restriction and she's not following any of the "rules", has no support system, and cards are stacked against her unless she's willing to make some drastic changes!

Sounds like a good idea. Check out the liability issues. I'm sure you can get insurance to cover that. Can you get credentials to become a "personal trainer"??? Might have to expand your hours for the gym though. Lots of people like to go early in the morning.

That's a great idea. There are lots of good recipes that have been posted here. One gal who is always experimenting and coming up with new ones I think is called GeorgiaGirl. She'd be a great resource.

UGH!! I can't get Channel 3 because we're on DirecTV with east & west coast feeds. Unless they show it on L.A. channels, I won't see it. Hope you can upload it to Facebook!!

Yeah, it dissolves real easily and has no taste so you won't even know its in there! I use a 20 oz Rubbermaid water bottle. I try to empty it three times a day. I don't do as well on the weekends as during the week because our schedule varies on the weekend. I get out of my usual daily routine and it throws me all off!

Try something like Benefiber. I have it in my first jug of crystal lite every morning.

Janet.... Tom Tom is just a little confused about where you want to go. He's British, you know, so you have to be patient with "him"!! Sometimes we don't necessarilly speak the same language!! I have been playing with mine to see if I could find the address. First, I looked up the address of the Trump Hotel online. After you pick Las Vegas NV in the Tom Tom, type in Fashion... and a list of three streets should pop up. You have to scan down to W Fashion Show Dr. Pick that and then type in 2000 and it will calculate your route. Address online does not use the "W", but if you google 2000 W Fashion Show Dr, Trump hotel/condos pulls up, so I'm pretty sure either address works-- with or without the "W", it's still the same address. Says its 287 miles from our place.

Vegas trip is very tempting. Would love to go but need the scooter to get around.... more walking than I can do. So that means I need DH, too... and there goes the fun!! :tongue2:I did get it in and out by myself once, but it's heavy. Janet.... almost called you today. I would've said "HELP! I need to be rescued!" Spent like THREE HOURS out in Thermal at this little remote control airfield watching grown men fly their expensive toys around in circles... a JET RC plane rally. I didn't even know those things came in JETS! Some of them were HUGE... like 102" wing span! With little GI Joe guys sitting in the cockpits! It was interesting for a while, but then I was playing with my Blackberry trying to get on Facebook and snuggling up against a big old SUV trying to find some shade because it was so HOT and bright sun!! Gotta go!! I'm tired and I want to stay here but we have tickets to go hear this comedian at the clubhouse!!

I keep forgetting you are in NO. Our son is still down there.. painting trains! I guess he is just about finished with this job and then heads for Houston. Watch out for him when you're hanging out in those bars!! :eek::eek:

That's why I stuck to my wine!! Talk about yuck... next door neighbor didn't want to drink the "Russian Sunsets" DH was fixing or the wine, so she brought over her own "Fuzzy Navel" in a bottle and THEN she added VODKA to it!! I can't imagine! We have some fresh lemons, but I don't think I'll try that vodka trick!! We even have a lemon tree outside our door with a few ripe lemons on it now. Used one on some Tilapia the other night.

Well, Hi, Neighbor! We're "snowbirds" from WA state staying in an RV park on Dillon Rd, Desert Hot Springs.

Yeah, DD said cheapest flights from Seattle were to LV! Who knew?? Maybe you should fly out of Vegas when you go to TX???? Meeting went so VERY WELL!! I DID wear my suit! DH kept nagging me that I would be sorry if I got weighed in my regular clothes. So I went in suit & robe, as usual... got weighed in bathing suit, and then slipped my clothes over the suit. We weigh in before meeting starts, so plenty of time to get clothes on! Was down a "hair", so I'm just s skosh under my pre-Christmas weight. I am watching ER. DH in a drunken stupor at the hot tub! :wink: Hope he keeps his head above water! I don't think he'll be swimming 100 laps tonight!

Okay... Hic hic, here, too! OMG, I don't know what happened! SIL left some vodka here after their visit. That's what started it!! Trouble! So DH decides we need to "get rid of" the vodka! So he bought orange juice and I persuaded him that SIL used OJ & Grenadine, so I stuck a bottle of Grenadine in the shopping basket yesterday! So, this afternoon, when it was time for my afternoon wine & cheese, he fixes himself a big glass of Jim's concoction... vodka, grenadine & OJ.... sort of a "Tequila Sunrise" but with vodka. He finishes that off (I had one yesterday and decided I'd rather have wine, thank you very much!) So after two of those he decides we need to invite the neighbors over... it was a warm, beautiful afternoon and we were sitting out on the patio by then. So, first neighbors, behind us, he struck out... they were getting ready to go out for dinner & didn't want to drink before going out on the road. SO he goes next door..... lights are on but no one's home. So he goes to the German people on the other side... I mean they barely speak English, but he's had all this vodka, so he doesn't care. So they come over. Really nice people... bought an RV in FL a few years ago & now they spend 6 mos in the USA every year. Having a very nice visit with them when the neighbors on the other side come home. DH invites them over, too. Pretty soon other neighbors go by on their golf cart... DH, still drinking, flags them down, too. Now we have 8 people, including us, and I guess we're having a "Happy Hour" party! He just keeps pouring that vodka & mixing these drinks that the Germans have now named "Russian Sunset" (as opposed to Tequila Sunrise)! Pretty soon Dh is emptying contents of the refridgerator.. summer sausage, cheese, crackers... moving on to ham, macaroni salad left over from ladies' luncheon I went to yesterday, ham, his favorite Costco bread! Neighbors bring over more cheese, more sausage, more macaroni salad. German's bring over kettle corn, some very hot red things.. like cheetos only NOT! I tried one and that was enough! So, needless to say, afternoon drink turned in to too much drink, snacks, and eventually... dinner. Everyone pooped out about 7:30 pm. Most have retired to the pool/hot tubs now. I am recovering in front of the TV. Quite an evening, and totally unexpected, but fun! I've had way too much wine, but that's okay. Back on track tomorrow.... and I steered clear of that vodka stuff!! I was perfectly content with my little wine glass & my merlot!! And, we WERE celebrating!! My TOPS meeting went GREAT this morning. I was pretty nervous because we were having an open house today and I was reluctantly in charge. I was really blown away at how sweet everyone was... they made a really big deal out of my 100 lb loss and one lady even went out of her way to get me a dozen red roses!! It was amazing!! And besides that, we had several guests and I think we may get three new members out of all that. And I lost a wee bit! I've now more than recovered from the holidays and DD/SIL visit! Back on track. Well, except for a little over indulging tonight! Hell, I needed a good party to get me out of my "blue funk"!!

Congratulations on hitting "ONDERLAND"~~!!! I so look forward to that day. It's probably been about 30+ years since I've been there! I have about 25 lb to hit that mark! You are doing GREAT!!

Hi, Been busy planning for TOPS meeting tomorrow. We're having an Open House and I have to lead it. Our leader kind of bowed out and dumped everything on me a couple of weeks ago. Hope we have a good turn out. That means weigh in tomorrow morning, too. And, since I'm leading the meeting, and since it's an Open House, trying to recruit new members... have to wear REAL CLOTHES, and can't weigh in in my bathing suit this week! Bummer! I usually get ready for water aerobics before TOPS meeting, so I go in my bathing suit and robe. :thumbup: Doing better today. Thanks.
