Too cute!! Cat is always sleeping at the foot of the bed on MY side when I got to bed. But one night when it was quite chilly, I went back there and she was under the covers with her head on my pillow! Love those purple sheets, BTW!

Well, I am going to get there one way or the other. I was hoping to talk DH into a motor home trip. We could spend that weekend in Canada and have time for a good visit with Mom and family in Buffalo. Yesterday this friggin' little postcard came in the mail. He has jury duty July 13! Ticks me off. First letter he got they wanted him this spring. So he sent back the form and said he would only be in the state May-Sept. So then we get this... July 13~! So if he has to be available for a week, we couldn't even make it by car let alone RV and train is out of the question, too. So, only way to make it is to fly. I DO NOT like to fly anymore, and especially not all the way across the coubtry. But looks like that will be the only option. So we'll probably fly to Buffalo and rent a car.. so I don't know if he'll come up to Canada with me or not. He probably will, though.

Sorry to hear you had an unpleasant experience. Both my surgeon and his PA had a great deal of difficulty finding my port the first few fills, even using fluoro. But it's gotten easier and easier with each fill. As the weight comes off, it's easier for them to find the right spot on the port.

Sounds like you're in good hands.. Sorry, my RN comes out now and then and I get bossy. Glad you had a positive experience. It was a while ago, but I do remember that the group I went to was GREAT!

An orthopedist is simply a bone specialist. These days, they tend to specialize in specific joints/bones. The first guy I went to last summer turned me over to someone else because he did partial but not total knee replacements. So it tends to get a little ridiculous, but in your case, I think I'd look for a back or spine specialist. I know you're fairly limited because of where you live, but check it out.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Joann... on that long flight, make sure you get up and move around frequently. And do some simple little exercises when you're sitting to keep the circulation in your legs going. Bending your toes towards your knee is an important one.. flexes the muscles in the backs of your legs where blood tends to pool. You can find more suggestions if you google plane exercises. I tried it and pulled up a bunch of sites.

Hugs, Long... you have your hands full!! Yes... 7-8 hrs sleep is what is recommended!! Especially if you are trying to lose weight! Janet, you can board a lot earlier than 2 hours.. last cruise we went on they said no boarding before 2 pm but we got there around noon and got on and other friends were already onboard! Then you have plenty of time to settle in.. unpack, etc., have a bite to eat, a drinkie poo... Celebrity met us with champagne when we got on! Then you have the silly lifeboat drill at 3 pm! Oh, I want to go on another cruise SO BAD!!

Yes, Linda & Mel left around noon time. Surprised she didn't call you because she said she was going to. They said they had reservations in Vegas for tonight. And Mel wanted to go take pictures of the wind mills. I think they were going to drive up 62 and maybe stop briefly at Joshua Tree Nat'l. Park. They came over at 7:30 a.m. and Earl made them omelets. Then we went up to the pool... Earl helped them get some laundry started and I think Mel finished it when we went in the pool. Water aerobics was great... I was pumped because Linda had trouble keeping up! See I AM doing it EVERY day! She said her legs started hurting and she wanted to be able to walk in Vegas the rest of the week. You gals ARE going to get a handle on this! Keep fighting! Can you get them to MOVE the food somewhere else???

COD---College of the Desert... they have a big street fair there every weekend...love to go shop there. He used to fly 2 & 4 seaters but now he just flies remote control planes... and not very well,at that!! LOL Every time he flies, we're off to the hobby shop for replacement parts! I had a partial replacement on the right knee... ortho guy says the hardware is collapsing down because of the weight loss. So I went to him assuming he could do a partial on the left... that's the one that hurts... and he says no, it needs a total but that the right one is more critical... needs to be converted to a total. That means total knee, right & left!! So I'm hoping when we go home around 1 May, I will go in and convince him to do them both at once ASAP. I want to get it over with and get on with my summer! I have places to go and people to see!! LOL Don't know anything about Dr. Ortiz, but pretty sure you need a passport for TJ now. There are ways to get an expedited passport... check on the internet for instructions... might mean going to Bismark, though.

Years ago I worked with a gal in Colorado whose parents died that way. Father had a heart attack, Mom called the paramedics and by the time they got there they were both gone. On a lighter note, we went to a really fun birthday party today and I can't believe this but I DANCED with my husband for the first time in quite a few years! Very carefully, and only a few slow dances, but I danced! Everyone was having so much fun with all this old 60's music... Elvis, etc., that I could hardly contain myself! It was great fun! I want these knees fixed big time!

My FB addiction is already way out of control, but I've tried Mob Wars and I just don't get it! I'm already doing Parking Wars, Tossing Possums, sometimes Speed Racing, and of course Pathwords and Challenge Sudoku, my WORST addictions, but I don't get Mob Wars. Put something in my inbox explaining.. maybe that will help. Steph, I'm sure we all appreciate the info on your back. You surely better not do too much until after you get more from your doc... MRI soon, did you say? Your brother may be right about the surgery... not fun, but will probably feel so much better if you do it.

Good Morning! Sorry to hear your dogs ended up with a bad "do"!! That's gotta be annoying! How long before it'll grow in so you can get them done again? Time Warner... gotta love em! They came yesterday to replace the neighbor's cable because his TV picture was fuzzy. So we come home from shopping... we have DirecTV sattelite, so we still had TV but no phone or internet! Guy just came and replaced our cable. So now we all have cables laying on the ground... buried ones are old and dead. I was able to tap in to a neighbor's wi-fi last night, so I was still online. But no phone except for cell phone which only works if you sit absolutely still and only in the front of the RV. But I was able to talk to my sister last night, and we talked to our son. I think I forgot to tell you guys this... remember last year when my Aunt Genny died the last day we were here.. Mar 31? Well, her husband died this past week.. Uncle Frank. Services tomorrow. Thought Mom would take it harder, but she's doing okay. He was like another brother to her. He was dx'd w/lung cancer about the same time Aunt Genny got sick. Kind of ironic.... just about a year later. He lost his fight when he lost his "Irish"... that's what he called her. Steph... hope your back is feeling better! Earl is off flying airplanes, so I'm going to church alone again! Not singing in the choir today because I didn't go to practice AGAIN ... feeling too miserable on Friday. So, guess I'll see if I can finish reading the paper before I leave. CBL

Holed up inside away from the wind. Water aerobics & hot tub this morning, then we took a friend to lunch over at our cafe. Been inside ever since! Skipped choir practice... still coughing too much, and off and on headache. Wanted to go hear a jazz group tonight, but couldn't face going out in the wind even just up to the clubhouse! We'll go out tomorrow.. Costco, wal-mart. Would like to go to COD if it's not too windy.

Oh, my!! So sorry to hear you got sick!! I've been worried about what would happen if I got he stomach flu when I'm this tight! As miserable as I've felt, I think I'd rather have a 2 week cold than a 24 hr throwing up flu! That is the worse kind of sick in my opinion! I HATE to throw up! Sure hope you don't have to have surgery on your back!! That would be a real bummer! And hope the 3 day in Seattle will work for you. Would be really nice to see you and Rose and meet Karri! If you do it, I will make sure we don't head south to CA until afterwards. Earl is talking mid-Sept, so that should work out should you all decide to participate. We would be there to help in any way we can... transportation, etc., and will help raise support. Already talked to one friend of mine who is a breast cancer survivor (as is my 86 yr old Mom). I lost several cousins my age and younger to this dreaded disease, so I am an enthusiastic supporter.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Okay... I took a few days to think about what my talents are. At this point in my life... mostly computer skills, I guess. I enjoy digital photography but my strength is mostly quantitiy and not necessarily quality... except thatwhen you take a LOT of pictures, you get some good ones here and there! I think I have pretty good organizational skills, but somehow that doesn't extend to having control over my clutter. I seem to be somewhat of a pack rat and I especially have trouble getting rid of paper stuff... books, magazines, interesting articles I'll probably never look at again, etc. I think I'm a good listener, but don't know if that's a "talent" or not! I have some musical talent, but don't use it much anymore. I play the piano but have let myself get rusty even though I have quite a sophisticated electric piano at home... Yamaha Clavinova with a lot of bells and whistles that I really need to learn to use a little better! I used to play piano for our church and led an orchestra and song leaders for a while. I sing in the choir here in our RV park. I'm not a soloist, though. I have a low voice, so I sing with the tenors, along with another gal. A couple of weeks ago, the choir director said, "guys, I want you to sing this solo part." She and I looked at each other and grinned wondering if that meant us, too or not! So we asked him if we were guys or girls for that part! He told us to sing. In high school I played the flute and did quite well on it. Since high school I've played at church, but now too much arthritis in my fingers. So... most of my "talents" are "used to" talents! I used to sew all my kids' clothes, too! Matching outfits for all four! I never made any quilts, but crocheted a LOT of afghans and hats, scarves, etc.

Thanks for the AI update! It was very frustrating that we didn't get to see the last two minutes. My fault, I think, because I scheduled something else to record after that and apparently gave TiVo permission to clip AI without thinking about it!

So who made the cut tonight?? Our last two minutes got cut by the TiVo! So we know Jasmine, and we figured out Nanoop or whatever his name is, who else?? We like the skinny guy and the blues guy.
