Okay... I looked at the hats... you know what... if you find a fabric you like... I bet we could make them easy!! And I bet I could get my sister to help. And then we could customize them... no elastic if you don't want it. Their website says to send 3/4 yd of fabric... then they're going to charge you $11 to make them?? I can't imagine it taking 3/4 yd of fabric, but even so, you can buy pattern... and it would be a lot cheaper to just make them. What do you mean about one of Karri's fundraisers sponsoring her outfit? Maybe we could find someone who would sponsor outfits for the whole team then.

Can you post the website again? And I forgot the dates. I want to put it on my calendar now, so I can make sure I keep the dates open... and plan our trip south around it. Here's a corny name.... But I got my hair cut to boost my spirits and put me in a better mood. Today I was supposed to be in TJ for my consult, so I had that on my mind all day! Dh took my photos in underwear last night & I emailed them to the clinic, so may be hearing from the doctor in a day or two. He is supposed to call me with his "consult" since I couldn't go down there. Oh, look!! Those little guys have those scrub hats on, too!!

Yes, there are good and bad out there both in the U.S. and in Mexico. So you have to do your research, which I have done. I'm 65 years old. It'll probably take me another year to get to goal. If I decide to go ahead with PS, I won't be waiting until I"m nearing 70 years old! I would like to be able to wear a bathing suit without being embarrassed about my legs. And it'd be nice to be able to wear shorts or a dress again!

I got the referral for Dr. Quiroz online and I think it was Dr. Ortiz' people that recommended him. They WILL send a cab to pick you up in San Diego, or at the parking lot just over the border. But Earl is just freaking out over the security issue. Dr's office has been emailing me and they said that their clinic is no where near the trouble areas. But I don't know what more I can do to convince Earl. He does not get how important this is to me. He did a little research of his own so now he's lecturing me about the danger to the blood vessels and nerves in your legs if you have liposuction... a word I made the mistake of using!

You are probably right! Nah! He changed his mind when he found out we had to go to TJ for the consult! And almost every night on the news they talk about all the problems at the "border towns" and that is not helping my cause!! Glad you had a good birthday! Yes, we must produce LOTS of pages for Janet to read when she gets home! LOL Dental appointment today was a total disaster. After 2 hrs in the chair three weeks ago, would you believe one of the crowns did NOT fit!??? I was so pissed!! So another 2 1/2 hrs in the chair. He got the first one cemented in place and worked and worked on the second one trying to make it fit. So after well after an hour he decides he can't make it work and he needs to redo the impression and order another crown!! so then he gets out his big long needle again to numb me up! He's TERRIBLE at doing that and I have a sore jaw again! First time it was sore for over two weeks. And I can tell this one is going to be sore for a while, too. And it didn't even work very well. He worked on the tooth again after that and did some more drilling and I could feel it! I didn't tell him because I knew if I did he would give me another shot. So I just gripped the armrests and kept quiet. Then the girl who was supposed to be retracting my cheek used something sharp at one point so now the corner of my mouth is sore. Am I whining! It was an extremely frustrating visit and I was there from 2pm until 4:45 pm and Wal Mart was right across the parking lot and DH went to Costco and I didn't get to go anywhere except the dentist! So I had him drive through Starbucks and got me a SF FF latte to sip on my way home!

Sharon.... good job on the exercise. Keep striving to make good food choices. Yes, when we exercise, then it seems to motivate us to make healthier food choices. Keep trying to figure out a regular schedule of exercise. It's easy for me when we're here at our RV park in the winter... Water aerobics at 8:55 a.m. Mon-Fri. When we get home, then it takes a little more discipline. But, DH goes to the hot tub every night after dinner, so I got in the habit of getting out my Wii Fit when he leaves and doing 45 min to an hour of exercise on the Wii Fit. Much of it doesn't seem too strenuous, but I'm usually sweating so I must be burning some calories. And I often end with walking in place. I have two knees that need to be replaced, so that is sometimes a bit of a challenge, but I can usually manage at least 10 minutes. So.... bottom line... find a routine that works for you and stick to it. You're making progress! Good work! Oh, my!! Still dealing with blizzards and it's almost April! Watching the presidential debate on TiVo but can't wait to get on with other stuff... like NCIS and Biggest Loser!! This is boring! I HATE those money arguments. We have them all the time! This week we're having plastic surgery arguments, and I'm sure much of the resistance is due to $$$$!! I want to have my legs done prior to reaching goal and before I have my knee replacements. He says that's stupid! LOL!! Good question! Didn't look at your age, but when MY kids were babies, you could get these litte toddler plates that had a reservoir in them. There was a little plug you would pull so you could fill up the reservoir with hot water. That's what we need!! Tortilla warmer might help. Fortunately, I don't mind eating food that's just luke warm! But if you're one of those, like my DH, who has to have everything piping hot, you're in trouble! My coffee always gets cold before I can finish it and THAT, I don't like! BTW... can't remember who it was that forgot where Janet is, she's on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera... Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, etc. with her grandson and his cousin... two teenagers, brave girl!! Hope she's making some friends so she has someone to hang out with besides the teens!! And someone to dance with!! She LOVES to dance.

Well put, Holly. I promised Janet I'd monitor this thread for her while she's gone. But I don't think I have any better answer than you do. I'm not sure I understand the problem, DxGirl. So, are you PBing, vomiting, sliming and your food is not staying down?? Can you tell us what you eat in a typical day. Also, are you keeping a food journal of everything you eat? It is very important to eat very slowly, chew, chew, chew, small bites, put your fork down between bites, use small utensils and small plate. No drinking for an hour after you eat. And are you exercising on a regular basis?? Those are all important in this weight loss journey. If you're not keeping food down, I don't understand why you aren't losing.

Hey! How is everyone??? Anyone in the NW had plastic surgery??? I don't know how much longer I can stand my ugly legs. I'm looking for doctor recommendations. I found one in Tijuana, and we're only about 2 hours away right now... wintering near Palm Springs. Had an appointment for a consult tomorrow, but DH refuses to go to Mexico! UGH!!

Hmmmm..... Do you think Janet is sitting quietly at the piano bar sipping a drink of the day?? Or maybe she's in the lounge and she found someone to dance with??? Or maybe she's so tired from running around all week getting ready to go on the cruise that she's already tucked in to bed catching some zzzzzzzzzz's. Nah... she's gotta tuck those teenagers in before she can go to sleep and they won't be ready for bed yet!!

Did you check you junk mail?? Mine started going to my junk mail once and it took me a while to figure out what happened. Once I checked "not junk", it started coming back to my inbox. User cp.... then Settings and Options, then options. Have you had any plastic surgery... can't remember? Having a BIG "debate" with DH because I want to get my legs done... and I want to do it in Mexico, and I want to do it before I get to goal.

So sorry you had trouble with your new bed! We bought one probably about 5 years ago and we LOVE it. In fact, I hated to leave it to stay in the RV each winter, so a couple of years ago we bought one for the RV, too. I like the one at home the best because it has dual controls. This one in the RV, DH has the control for both sides. At home, sometimes in the middle of the night I want it softer or firmer and I can do it. In the RV I'd have to wake him up, so I can't do it. There's not a handy place to put it where could both reach it. I sure hope you get the new pump quickly and that you like your new bed.

Hmmm... well, my suspicion is that a great deal of the resistance to PS comes from being focused on $$$$, but he's not going to say that, so he just keeps telling me how STUPID it is, unnecessary, I look MUCH better than I used to, I'm only doing it because some stupid ladies made comments about me legs, etc., etc., etc. Why would you want to butcher yourself, blah, blah, blah, blah! And then there's the Mexico arguments.... too dangerous, why don't you go to a REAL doctor, he's a quack, etc. Transfer addiction... yes, SHOPPING! One of the things I was shopping for was a CRUISE! LOL I am going to post on the NW thread and see if anyone there has had PS... Maybe someone can recomend someone closer to home. I am still upset about the whole issue and DH response and want to go crawl in a hole somewhere. He just doesn't get it. Really think that a large part of it is the $$$ because one day when he let his guard down he said, "we can't even afford a new car and you want to spend $50K on plastic surgery". Well, it won't cost that much and it's not true that we can't afford a new car. He just won't spend his precious cash! ON ANYTHING! Therefore, I think I will buy a cruise!! LOL.... YEP, I'm still MAD!! He's trying to be so nice but he's getting monosyllabic answers from me today. And I'm conspiring with myself as to how to get the photos to email the dr. in TJ... without asking HIM to help me!! Like taking my camera down to the locker room and take them in front of the big mirrors down there! STEPH... so glad you posted that note this morning! You don't need to apologize. We just all marvel at the fact that you can do all that cooking for so many on a daily basis without being tempted! But I guess you could be a little less descriptive about exactly what you are cooking! :frown::biggrin: Except when you have some healthy concoction to tell us about.... like your low fat, low sugar adaptions. Geez.... it's too quiet around here with Janet gone!! Just think, she's on that big, beautiful cruise ship this morning, cruising down the west coast, being served Breakfast and on her way to some Mexican coastal city. Wish I was there!

Hope you're feeling better soon! Wish I was on that ship, too!! Those Mexican cruises out of L.A. are really cheap. We should've all gone! Heck, I just found one online on Norwegian out of Seattle... 7 day Alaska cruise for $399!!

Well, I am frustrated, angry, upset, etc., etc., etc.! I somehow got the mistaken idea that the plastic surgeon from Tijuana had an office in San Diego and that's where I was going for the consult. Unfortunately, that is not the case and the appointment they made for me for Wed. is in Tijuana. Of course, DH absolutely refuses to go there or let me go! All the recent publicity about "border towns" in Mexico definitely is a contributing factor! And he keeps calling the doctor a "quack". He did agree to help me with photos so I can email them to the doctor. Hopefully, in underwear will be acceptable. But now I'm thinking, just to placate him, I will also consult with another doctor... I was even thinking of contacting yours, Karri, because you had such a positive experience with her. I looked her up on the internet, too. I'm not sure where Bend is, but we could probably work it in to our trip back home. I'm just very disappointed and discouraged and all those other expletives! DH is just dead set against plastic surgery and will say anything to try to keep me from pursuing this. Chocolate is a weakness for me, too, but you just have to get it out of your system, resist the urge to buy it, and you will stop craving it... I promise! But you have to JUST SAY NO!!! Check under CPUser and make sure the option to get email notifications is still checked. Then go to your list of subscribed threads and go to the last page of each thread. I find that if I don't go to my subscribed threads on a regular basis, email notifications stop. But after I go back and visit each of my threads, they will start up again.

My exercise challenge comes when we leave here! I love my water aerobics, and have to find something else when we leave the RV park and go home! Most people want to go somewhere warm on a cruise, but being that you're in the NW, you can drive to Seattle. Alaska cruises out of Seattle come pretty cheap... like $699. We've gone twice and LOVE it!

I don't think I'll slack off on my exercise, etc. if I have the PS because I will not yet be at goal. So I won't be looking THAT great! Every now and then I see myself in a mirror at a certain angle and I think, "yeah, you've got a ways to go yet so don't get cocky!!" Like last night! And I've set my goal fairly high for my height and may want to go lower once I get there, like you did. But I do have you gals to keep me on track! You are right... we are FAMILY! We CARE about each other and we stick together. Reading your posts, I'm almost as excited as you are about this cruise!! Wow... a girl after my own heart with all those shoes! Earl always has a fit over my shoes! But I don't think even I would take that many pairs of flip flops! Unless, of course, you need certain colors for certain outfits. Earl doesn't get that either. He brought three pairs of shoes for the whole winter... crocs, white tennies and a pair of dress shoes he actually bought here on sale at Christmas time... slip ons, and they are the ugliest clunkiest looking things you ever saw. But they were like $80-100 shoes on sale for $20 and they fit so he HAD to buy them no matter what they looked like! But, back to subject.... you're making me want to go on a cruise again! I thought I was in for some pouting when Earl didn't get up until almost 8 a.m.... he's usually up at 6 every day. That's the first sign of a good pout.... sleeping a lot. But he's still speaking to me, so guess not! :smile: He did let me know last night he has agreed to San Diego ONLY because we say we're going to go every winter and we never have! It was one of the stops on our honeymoon trip almost 45 years ago! Have a Red Hat PJ party to go to this morning. CBL Wish we'd get another update from Steph. Ok, gals.. I'm going to go for it. Earl has agreed to San Diego and I think once he meets the guy, he'll feel better about this. They can't see me on the date that I'd hoped, but will fit me in any day next week, so I'm going to negotiate with Earl and see if he'll agree to go down this Wed.
