Me, too! In fact, I'm having a crappy day all the way around! TOPS weigh in I was down a whopping .4 of a lb. Wii scale went up 1/2 lb this morning after I sweat like a pig on the Wii 5 of the last 7 days and cut out almost all my snacks the last several weeks. Had about 2 tbsp of salsa last night and 4 wheat thins. One very small glass of wine, no latte, salad w/grilled chicken for lunch. DH is being a butt head.... 3rd full day of pouting and I've had it with him. So, I'm just pissed off in general.... at the world! I want to run away and never come back!! :grouphug::lol:

Worked on the Wii for about 45 minutes tonight. Sports made me do one boxing, one golf, one hitting baseballs and I came up with an age of 41, so that's not bad. About the same age on the Fit when I weighed this morning. I did some bowling tonight and a little golfing practice. Tilt table.... stuck on 87. Got that score twice tonight and once last night. Stupid Bubble girl.... tried twice... can't make it to the end on the advanced. Stupid bumble bees get me every time. Have to time your speed to get past them. Couldn't get across the tight rope tonight either. I did remember last night that using my cane on that one throws me off balance... but if I hold it at waist level with both hands, it helps to steady myself. I use my cane on most of the other balance exercises or else I'd fall flat on my face. I almost fell even though I was using it at my daughter's last week! Downhill ski.. advanced, I beat my best score... did it under 1 minute!! Soccer... terrible tonight. I was checking my scores and my highest score on that is 155. Tonight... I did 27 and then 57!! Always try the ski jump at least twice but I end up becoming a snowball rolling down the hill every time. Humiliating! Can't jump up fast enough.

Oh, Denise! I'm so very, very sorry to hear about your Dad's sudden death! HUGS! -
Wii time 50 minutes last night. Brought my Wii Sports age up from 78 to 20!! That's the difference between 3 forced boxing tests vs. 2 bowling and a tennis. I'm terrible at boxing... can't figure out how to make my punches go where I want them to go. Bowling & tennis... I'm pretty good. Finally got all the way across the tight rope and I think my score was about my 3rd best. Did really well on the downhill ski/advanced and think I got my 3rd best time in that, too. Stupid Bubble girl made it to the end once, but not fast enough to get on my top ten grid. I hate that one! Did okay on the penguin thing, but, alas, scores not high enough. Through level 8 on advanced tilt table several times but can't get a high enough score to come close to any of my previous scores. You get 80 points for finishing and then added points for however many seconds you have left. So I think I got a 97 once, but all my top ten scores are over 100. 5 lb challenge.... plugging along... another 1/2 lb, and doing well this weekend with food. Went out to lunch after church with dd & sil, but got grilled chicken Asian salad. No bread or crackers. TOPS tomorrow morning. Oh, yesterday was WA state TOPS yearly "Walk". We went and Earl walked for an hour. I rode my scooter, but towards the end, I traded a lady her walker for my scooter so I could do a few minutes of walking, too.
-
Got through level 8 two or three times last night on the Tilt Table exercise but not high enough score to be in my top ten! Good idea! I'm only down a pound. I don't think I'm going to make it. You are a SICK puppy!! Intervention definitely in order!! (got anything for me to harvest today???) LOL I think Earl would love to do that hike! Next winter! I can do it after I get this knee replaced..... maybe!

50 minutes on the Wii tonight... about 20 on Wii Sports and the rest on Wii Fit. Scores improving. I think I got 3rd place with my downhill skiing... so almost up to my best personal times. Wii Sports age was 78 tonight! Because it gave me THREE boxing exercises to test me. I can't get the boxing gloves to go where I want them.... must be holding the controllers wrong. So then I did some bowling. Only 21 yds on the tight rope. I was doing well with that one lst fall, but now I can't do the knee thing so that and the ski jump are big failures for me. I got all the way through the 8 levels on advanced tilt table, but couldn't come close to my top 10 scores. I do all the balance exercises except the snowboard and that stupid last one... I think you're supposed to sit on the board, and that's not going to happen. Food today... eggbeaters omelet with art. crab, salad with more art. crab for lunch, morning snack sf,ff latte. Afternoon... wine... about 6 oz and a tiny bit of gorgonzola cheese. Dinner... 1/2 a small filet... about 3-4 oz, 1/4 peas, sauteed onions and mushrooms. Tonight... 60 cal jello pudding. Not good with liquids today... all my coffee and only one 20 oz jug of crystal lite.

What the heck! How did I get two pages behind!!??? DON'T get the Jillian game. I've read nothing but BAD reviews on that one. Go to Amazon.com to research some of these games. Click on the reviews to see what other people think of them. I don't know anything about the EA Active... hadn't heard of that one. I'll have to look it up. I ALWAYS do my Wii with bare feet. You can buy a "sleeve" to cover it... I was getting black footprints on mine from sweat, I guess. I think they have the covers at Target.

Your story was toooo funny! Reminded me of my adventure when we were home in NY last summer. Went to the county fair and tried eating a part of a hamburger and an ear of corn. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to find garbage cans in obscure locations where people wouldn't see me barfing! I was miserable for quite a while. Only time I've had a PBing episode that went on for HOURS! BTW.... DS is NOT flying his airplane up.. he decided he'd drive up with the rest of the family. He's been stressing over the fix he needs to do and decided he wasn't going to try to rush through it. He needs some time to think it through. A part that he just had to replace is now causing some electrical static and malfunction of some of his indicators. So he may have to build a new harness and insulate the wires so they stop causing interference... At least... that's how I understand it.. as explained by DIL.
-
Okay.... here are some points to consider which may help to assuage your guilt about buying a Wii/Wii Fit. The Wii Fit has a very accurate scale and will keep track of your weigh ins and your BMI and save them on a graph. It also tracks your exercise by accumulating Fit points... I don't check that very often, but I know it does that. Using it becomes habit, just like any other type of exercise you start doing on a regular basis. I tend to be competitive, so I'm always striving to up my personal best scores. It's really not just a frivolous "toy", but another tool to help us get "fit" and achieve our goals.
-
Sounds good to me. I used to start with the "Sports", and then go on to the Wii Fit stuff because they wipe out my knees and then I have to quit. Doing that I can usually get in 45-60 minutes, but if I just go right to the Wii Fit balance, etc., I can only do about 30 minutes. Supposed to be another HOT one here today... 90 degrees, then back to the 70's after that. Looking forward to visit from DS, DIL & family. DIL & DGD are planning to leave in the morning and drive. DS & DGS... if all goes according to plan, fly up in his airplane on Saturday. Of course, we are worrying about that. It will be his longest flight since he finished the airplane, and he's been having a few electrical problems. He's generally very cautious and conservative, but I know how determined he is to fly it up here and show it off. We'll be nervous until we hear he's safely arrived. DIL says he may land it up here at a small airport near us. Earl would be pretty excited about that. I'd be nervous, but excited if I could go for a ride with him, but don't think it's possible. You have to take a BIG step up onto a certain spot on the wing to get in. It has a canopy that flips up and that's how you get in. No way I can do that!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I can relate to the knee problems. Left one is bone on bone and needs replacement. Right has partial replacement, but ortho doc says it needs to be converted to total. Last summer he thought it was urgent, but when I went back to see him a month or so ago, it hadn't gotten any worse, so he's backed off on that one a little. I carry a lot of weight in my legs, and that is a problem. He says it increases the risk of infection. So, I'm going to have to make a decision as to whether or not to go ahead with the left because we leave in the fall for the winter. So if I'm going to get it done, it can't be too late in the summer. -

I didn't keep it a secret... I told everyone. I felt it would make me more accountable, too.

Hi, All! Busy day today! And HOT! Primetimers this morning. Lunch was not good... AGAIN. This time they made egg/hashbrown casserole with hamburger in it, and corn. I guess I ate about a cup and about two bites of carrot cake. Took our loop around the lake when we got home. Then I worked on photos for a couple of hours. Borrowed memory card from one of the friends that went on the cruise with us so I could get her pictures. I'm going to put a slide show together for Primetimers. BUT... she had 512 pictures on that sucker! Every photo she's taken since the first of the year... maybe even Dec. There were snow pictures, wedding pictures from two different weddings, new baby pictures including baby shower. I sorted through 300 pictures before I got to the cruise pictures. I set up folders for her and put all the pictures in appropriate folders, and broke up the cruise pictures by location... Ketchikan, Juneau, etc. When I finished, I copied all the folders onto a DVD. So I hope when I give her the DVD and her memory card, that she will finaly delete all those pictures from her memry card. It's impossible to manage your pictures if you keep them on your memory card forever! That was the last of everyone's pictures, and it took me about 3X longer than it did to process the others, including mine and I had over 700 photos. So, after reading all your posts, I got on the Wii while DH was at the hot tub. I did 30 minutes before I couldn't stand the knee pain anymore! My scores are getting better, but not yet up to par with what they were before we left last fall. So, is anyone doing the "Wii Challenge"?? If so, how are you doing it? I know I can't do a lot of the stuff the rest of you are probably doing. I can do most of the sports stuff... bowling, golf, boxing, baseball.. I'm not so good at tennis. On the Wii Fit, I can do a couple of the yoga exercises, and I can probably do some walking. I was up to about 15 minutes on the advanced on that last fall.. the walk around the island. Then I do all the balance games. I can't do that snowboard thing where you have to turn the board sideways, though. And the ski jump... depends on how my knee is! Springing up is not always possible! I keep falling off the tightrope this week because of that. Can't make it all the way across.
-
So sorry you keep having these problems! I do a little burping now & then but not too excess and usually when I'm kind of tight and then sip on my crystal lite. I have been having a little trouble with reflux sometimes after I go to bed. I had fun today! Hee Hee... went to DD's to spend some time with her while Earl was out to lunch with old friends from AF/Boeing days. DD was doing yoga, etc on the Wii Fit when I got there. Then 6 yr old DGS was on for a while so then I wanted a turn. I've only used mine for weighing since these knee problems escalated, but I couldn't stand it.. I HAD to get on. So I was showing GS some of the balance things I like to do. He was beginning to tick me off because this 6 yr old is trying to tell me... "you have to do... blah, blah, blah, Grandma"... instructing me on my favorite things when he's still on beginner and I do advanced on most of them now. So he watched while I beat ALL their scores on the soccer game, downhill skiing (31 seconds, my best.. their highest was over 1 minute... including DD & SIL!) I'm holding 1st, 2nd & 3rd place on their Wii now in Soccer, downhill and... tilt table... forget it. They're not even close to my highest today. And I beat them all on the tightrope walking, too, even though I didn't make it all the way across because by then my knee was hurting so bad I couldn't jump over that stupid thing that comes across the wire. Of course, we won't talk about some of the other stuff.. Watched DD do the hula hoop, which I can't do at all.. and the step exercises... I can do the backwards and forward, but when they start the sidestepping... forget it. But I AM the QUEEN of the balance exercises! I am so competitive.. I stayed on there for almost 30 minutes despite the pain! And THEN.... I walked down to the bus stop & back with all of them when it was time for Charly to go to kindergarten (afternoon session). So.... hope I can walk tomorrow morning when I wake up!! LOL -- If I can, I'm going to start using mine for more than just weighing again. I really enjoy those balance exercises and last summer I was able to do the walk around the island thing, too... so maybe I can work up to that.... it would take me about 15 minutes to walk all the way around the island, but I could do it... started out with the beginner thing and worked my way up to advanced.

Just to clarify.... it wasn't so much HOW MUCH Phelps was eating, it's HOW he was eating it... shoveling in these great big humongous bites. His mouth open so wide you could stick a baseball in there! That's what was so disgusting!

Yeah, Earl is the only one I want putting food on my plate. He knows what I want and he weighs all my meat/fish. I won't let that happen again. I ended up with not enough meat and too much spaghetti. I had some garlic mashed potatoes... a very small spoonful that I got to put on my plate myself. So... no excuses... I should've exercised more control. So my weight is up a little this morning. I also did not drink enough over the weekend and let myself get constipated... so I'm a mess today. Tomorrow will be better. Food today.... Nature Valley granola bar for BF, homemade bean soup with ham for lunch... small bowl. We're having leftovers for dinner... turkey meatloaf and veggies. SF/FF latte this afternoon. Having a small glass of wine and a few tiny cubes of gorgonzola. TOPS this morning... I was actually down 1 lb since last time we were there... but that was 3 weeks ago. Earl wouldn't go because he's still 9 lb over goal! Stopped to see one of the friends that was on the cruise with us after that. She is in mucho pain.. hip replacement coming up, but not for 6 more weeks. I helped her with computer problems she was having and picked up her formal photos and memory card from the cruise so I could scan/copy all her pictures to my computer. I guess you didn't really need this run down of my whole entire day, but since I'm on a roll, after lunch we took our 2-3 mile loop down to the lake and back. When we get to Safeway, we're almost home and that's where we usually split! I usually want to go look in some of the stores... just because they're there, and Earl wants to go home. This time, he wanted to go to auto parts and that didn't interest me so I went to Target. Hope you all had a GREAT DAY!! And now I need to go tend to my farm!

OMG.... watching Michael Phelps eat on 60 Minutes! Disgusting! He could use some lessons on taking small bites! Overall, my food today was okay. My usual small eggbeaters omelet for BF, Costco samples for lunch. Bucca di Beppo... an extremely frustrating experience!! Am I the only that feels this way....?????? because of the unique way that we have to eat... I DO NOT like other people putting my food on my plate! On the cruise we only went to the buffet twice.. partly because Earl thought it was too noisy And... he likes to be served; but.. I went along with it because as soon as they saw me coming on my scooter I would be bombarded with wait staff wanting to help. At first I would say, "no" and tell them I could manage or my husband was helping, but they just wouldn't quit and I'd finally give in. Then I would get very frustrated because I'd say I'd like a "little" of.... _______, and I never got just a little. So, as you can imagine, I found the Bucca di Beppo dinner for DGD's birthday tongiht... extremely frustrating. Most of the food was on the other table... we were at side by side booths, 12 of us (including 2 babies). So, I wanted a part of a meatball and a tiny bit of spaghetti, SIL got it for me. I got too much spaghetti. Someone put a big spoonful of gnocchi on my plate which I didn't even want... I wanted to taste maybe one. I didn't eat that. It was awful anyway. I definitely ate a few things I shouldn't have, but I didn't overdo and I didn't leave uncomfortable. Next time I am in a situation like that, I wil insist on putting my own food on my plate. I did use a little salad plate and not their big dinner platters!
-
But what about your farms? Didn't you take care of them yet??? LOL (Scale says I'm down but I don't trust it 100%. We'll see tomorrow- Wii and TOPS. DGD. 19th birthday today and she chose for us all to go to Buca! That should be interesting! Family style Italian. I pretty much know what they'll order and its not good! I'll have a part of a meatball and salad. TTYL

I have always had trouble with tuna. Frustrating because I am a seafood lover and tuna is one of my favorites. Even mixed with mayo it often gets me "stuck". -
yeah, west coast!!

I LIKE that theory! My shoe size went from 6 1/2 or 7 to 6! Sorry to hear about Angel! Keep us posted. I'm down 1.5 lb this morning if my Wii is correct! 214.3 it says.

Karri - Wii, Wii, Wii. Kari - wee, wee, wee.

It's an individual thing, but for me, the weight loss has slowed down. You just have to persist and keep on keeping on! I have knee issues which limit the exercise I can do and that is an important element. We winter in So CA and I have access to a nice warm pool where I participate in water aerobics 5 days a week, but at home... I'm somewhat limited. I use a Wii Fit, also, mostly at home, but lately that seems to aggravate the knees and then I can't walk! I'm still losing, but slowly. Hoping to have knee replacement done in the next few months and then things will improve on the exercise front. Press on!! You CAN do this!!

GIMME A BREAK!!! You're ignoring us???? What's that about??? No, you're not! We know you're there! I'm not going to come over and pull your weeds and rake your leaves anymore if you don't behave! We're all trying to get back on track. You HAVE TO come with us! Thanks for the compliments, by the way. I DO like my hair short.... the shorter, the better. It's a lot less work and I"m no good with hair. So I keep it short, and wear hats a LOT! Earl says I have 80+ hats, but he exaggerates... maybe 40... and a lot of them are sun visors in LOTS of colors and styles. I have to take inventory of all of them because I lost a roll of fat on the back of my head that helped to hold my hats (and my CPAP mask) on my head and now a lot of the hats that don't have adjustable bands are too big. Why is my head shrinking faster than the rest of me???? Why can't my thighs shrink like that???? I hated most of the elevators on the cruise ship.... too many lights and too many mirrors. It made my hair look REALLY grey!
