Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
phyllser replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Too late... I had one very small pancake... guys know me and won't try to push any more on me. And they were out of butter by the time I got there! I did have a little syrup, but not much. I got two sausage links and ate a little bit of scrambled eggs. But it appears that we have skipped lunch. Apparently Earl is planning to weigh in tomorrow! He's cutting us a few small cubes of cheese now! I've heard Dr. Kuri is a good one, too. Lots of folks from Seattle area have gone to him... they even have their own support groups in the Seattle area. I think he has 18-20 yrs experience. He is in Tijuana. Both Mexicali and Tijuana are fairly close to Janet & I... like maybe 2 - 2 1/2 hrs. I'm feeling pretty good today. I think the crud is really gone. I didn't have to work in the activities office today. It was closed because of a burglary during the night! Can you believe that?!! This is a Christian resort, and mostly old people. I've heard a rumor that someone in the mobile home section has a son who is basically a career criminal. He's been suspected in a lot of the thefts that have occurred over the past few years. Last year someone ripped the laundry card machine off the wall and took all the cash. Last night they ransacked the activities office, took anything of value including a bank zipper bag that was in the desk drawer. I know when I worked in there last week there was probably $500 in cash in there. I've often wondered why it wasn't locked up, or deposited once a week or something. There's always lots of cash in there and that is NOT a good idea. But the office was closed because the sheriff was there to take fingerprints and the whole place had to be cleaned up. -

Purses... a great idea! I buy a lot of things on eBay, DIL does too. And I've sold a lot of things on eBay. Might work. Feeling a little better this morning. I should be getting ready for water aerobics NOW! Earl is up making pancakes, and I can get free breakfast if I go up, but not motivated! Once a month "Cecil's Breakfast"! Usually have a little scrambled eggs, sm pancake a couple of sausage links and some coffee. Back of my neck is still achy, but no headache yet this morning! Volunteer in activities this afternoon, but that's just sitting there listening to a book on my iTouch and hopefully finishing my beading project from a couple of weeks ago! -

Made it to pool/hot tub, but couldn't do water aerobics.. Just no energy, body aches, etc. Sick to my stomach. But, I went to beading class anyway. Made a really pretty bracelet. Pretty easy one, too, so I'm going to make some more in different colors. Face feels really hot and I thought I had a fever, but thermometer says no. Just feel really yucky. Beautiful day today! Sorry so many are suffering the freezing cold weather! Family in Buffalo, too, and lots of snow there. Earl took his plane out in the desert again. It got away from him and ended up stuck high in a tree, too high for a ladder! So I heard him banging around in the storage compartment in the back of the RV. Next thing I know, I see him walking up the street with his fishing pole!! Out to the desert with his fishing pole!! He got the plane back down and then spent about 1/2 hr fixing it. Don't know if it will fly again or not. He broke the tail section off AGAIN!! The neighbors are getting a good laugh out of the fishing pole caper!! He's out there yucking it up with them right now! -

Feeling a lot better this morning. Guess I'll be off to the pool in a little while.... 8:55 a.m. start. Beading this afternoon. Earl will bring the laundry up while I'm playing! My email links aren't working today. Don't know what changed overnight and can't find an option to enable links again! UGH! -

Just a short job, but will give him some money... 1/19, in Houston. He decided NOT to go to Spokane so was glad to hear that. And he dropped the girlfriend... boss told me she was a scumbag druggie and he told Steve either drop the girl or I don't want to see you again! Headache is back and now stomach cramps! This is not good! -
We'll miss you! Come back soon! Good thing you let us know cuz we'd come looking for you!!

I listened to a Kathy Reichs book on CD and the narration was pretty good. This one I'm listening to now, Tortilla Curtain.. is EXCELLENT. Very well done. Those are the only two I have to compare. I have another... Nanny Diaries, that I haven't uploaded to my computer yet, so not yet on my ipod, but it's narrated by Julia Roberts, so I"m assuming that one will be well done, too. DS #2 has called several more times for money since I last mentioned it. So this weekend I decided to try to contact his boss. That was after his loony (estranged) wife that he hasn't seen in about 10 years called me! She expressed "concern" that Steve wanted to come up to Spokane to spend some time. HE told me that SHE invited him to come up and she was going to buy him a ticket! The family "compound" is like a commune and they're raising/selling "medical" mj now and we were sick to hear that he was seriously considering going back up there. We were afraid he'd stay and abandon his job. Even though they don't have work now, they have contracts coming up and it's a really good job and the longest he's ever worked anywhere, and the most money he's ever made! So, we wanted to hear from the boss what his take on the situation was because he's always been honest with us. SO... Steve is NOT sleeping under a bridge or in a tent like he told us. I guess he spent one night in a tent. But he has a roof over his head and food in his belly right now. We did decide to send another $100... to his boss, though, for him to dole it out as he sees fit. Steve would have it all gone in a day! -

I went to the library website and the book I am interested in next is available in MP3 format, but I don't see any way you can download it. I should call them or email a question. I know you can download them from other libraries online, but I don't see that option yet. I bought one from iTunes last week and synched it to my new iTouch. I was having trouble keeping the ear buds in my ears. Then when we were at our son's, grandkids and DIL told me to buy "skull candy" earphones. SO I did. They came with 3 different sizes of ear things. But none of them will stay in. My ears seem to be too small. So now I"m going to try my Blackberry ear buds. They are actually bigger than the others, but they stay in.. just can't get them in as far as the others. WE'll see how that goes! -

May try to get back on my Wii. The more you talk about it the more I want to start using it again. Use it at home a lot, but in the RV there's just not much room, and the TV screen is so much smaller! Reading a Nora Roberts book... Blue Smoke. I don't think I've ever read one of her books before... very good. Also have an audio book... listened in the car coming home last week, and when I volunteer in the activities office Wed. afternoon. Tortilla Curtain... it's a pretty good story, too. OH... and today I went and got a Riverside County Library card so I can download audio books! Feeling MUCH better tonight. Decided to go to water aerobics this morning even though I still felt yucky... bad headache up the back of my neck. Almost quit after first 15 minutes, but kept on going. Then decided I'd quit at the halfway point. Then decided... oh, what the heck.. may as well just stay until it's over. So I did.. Aggravated the headache a little, but relaxing in the hot tub for 1/2 hr helped a lot. Then went to Red Hat lunch. Still had headache when I got home, but not bad. It did feel Great when I sat down on the couch and put up my feet for the first time since this morning. Didn't realize how tired I was. Then a couple of Ibuprofen and the headache finally went away!! Yippee!! Still feel kind of worn out, but so much better than yesterday and this morning!! BEAUTIFUL sunset out my window right now!! Should go out and take a picture!! -
Well, my doc told me 1/2 c 6X a day... but to me that is not realistic. I want to eat like normal people.... 3 meals a day. So I probably eat 1 - 1 1/2 c per meal... at least at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually a very small eggbeaters omelet. But I agree with you... if we have to deny ourselves things that we enjoy FOREVER... this won't work for us. I have treats... but then I will cut calories somewhere else that day, or ramp up my exercise a little. My weight loss has been slow but steady and that's okay with me.

Think I might have the flu! Headache all day, tired and achy all over and just lost my dinner. Didn't eat much... a couple of little meatballs, less than 1/4 cup mac & cheese. But it wouldn't stay down. Just feel lousy! -

Yeah... annoying, isn't it!? Last year had to borrow a machine to hem some pants and will have to borrow the neighbor's again to get these pants done before they're all too big! Love the quilt pictures... the other one, not so much! Maybe you should use it as your FB profile photo. It might stop some spam and nuisance mail!! "Wanda Witch"!! LOL -

Janet.... I think AMC starts giving the discount at 55! So that's not so bad, is it??? Heck, AARP enrolls you at age 50! Yeah, my family in Buffalo is getting it. They showed the snow in Orchard Park on the Today show this morning.. THat's where one of my sisters lives. Some of them complain about the snow and cold, others say bring it on! The younger ones are saying that, pretty much! I hope my mother is staying in today! The other day when it was bitter cold and miserable, they went out to lunch anyway (a daily thing with them) and the excuse was they didn't have anything to cook! I hate hemming pants too! And at 5 ft nothing, they ALL have to be hemmed. That's why I look for capris or cropped!! LOL Then they're the right length. I took 5 prs to DIL's with me. Sometimes she hems pants for me. Earl didn't bring my sewing machine again this winter! But DIL's sewing machine was buried in quilt stuff, and mattress Earl slept on was on the floor in front of it, so I brought them back home unhemmed. I did try them on, though, so Kellie could confirm I had the length right. UGH! When our youngest daughter got married 21 yrs ago, she wanted to wear my wedding dress. But the underlayer had yellowed. So I took it completely apart, bought new fabric and put it all back together again. I must have been out of my mind! -
Jump right in! Always room for one more. We'd love to hear your story! Lots of support and encouragement here! WELCOME!!

You think that's depressing!? LOL! Happens to us all the time. But then we ARE old enough for the Sr. discount! And how about when you go to buy "adult beverages" and they say, "you don't have to show your I.D." Why couldn't they just not ask for it instead of telling me they're not going to ask for it??? That just rubs it in! You're so old we don't need to bother looking at your I.D.! I want to go see "It's Complicated", too, but when we're down here we only like to go when the weather is bad... so we've only been to one movie since we came down in Oct!! Just can't go to a movie on a beautiful day like today... 72 degrees, sunshine!! Now I AM considering K-Mart... mostly because it's right nextdoor to Starbucks!! HaHa!! Really.. I want to go see what Christmas stuff they still have left. Probably 50-75% off now. You can fly in to Palm Springs. Or Ontario and rent a car. Our DD & SIL are coming down mid-Feb and flying in to San Diego. Last year they flew in to Vegas, but that's a few hours drive. Ontario is about 1 1/2 hr, San Diego maybe 1 1/2 - 2 hr drive. Can usually find a rental for about $50 or so a night...definitely under $100 here in this park. Or probably no more than $500 for a week. Monthly rent is in the $1500-1600 range depending on unit. Don't hold back like that... just let yourself GO!! Tell us how you REALLY feel!! LOL -

How to Stay Young 1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'. 2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. 3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' 4. Enjoy the simple things. 5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. 6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive. 7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, and hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge. 8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. 9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is. 10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Here's a really deep question! If you needed to buy some toothpicks and you were in Walmart, where would you look???
