Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!

I am confessing that I sort of misbehaved today. I did my usual morning routine, and then I went to beading for a little while to work on the necklace I was hoping to take on the cruise this weekend...mmmmmm, that's probably not going to happen. But we meet in the room right next to the beauty shop, so I went in to say "HI" to Pat, the beautician, who is a friend of mine. Asked her if hse thought I needed a trim before we go on the cruise. Of course she said "yes", so as soon as she finished the lady she was working on, she gave me a hair cut, and style. Looks cute! Wish I could fix it like that!!! So... little bead work done. Went to a "food drive" TEA at 1 pm, had to bring canned goods and wear a hat. Had a blast there.... 46 women showed up. food consisted of angel food cake...small slices, straweberries and Cool Whip. I posed for a photo especially for you! BUT.... I AGAIN forgot my jug of crystal lite... left it at beading class. So, hair dresser brought it to Earl and then went next door. So when I got back from the "tea party" I went next door to thank her for bringing my crystal lite jug home to me! And there were several neighbor ladies having a glass of wine. Two bottles of wine and a couple of hours later.... I came back home! I was SO BAD!! And Earl was no help... he kept bringing us bowls of pretzels, chips, crackers, onion dip!! I didn't indulge in very much of that, but I did have too much wine. This has got to stop!! I am having TOO much fun!! But, I want you to know that the attached photo was STAGED entirely for your benefit!! AND, before I had any wine!!! BTW, that's LITE whipped cream she is shooting in to my mouth!! -

Well, probably my most exciting find was ceramic numbers w/iron frame for our RV site. Since we did the cement, I'd been looking for fancy numbers to put our site # on out front since Earl & the neighbor put a nice post in the cement to mark our site. Couldn't find anything I liked at Lowe's or Home Depot or Walmart... looked in a bunch of different stores. So, saw a rack with ceramic tile squares/#s behind one of the booths on the street.. so asked a few questions.. they had the numbers I needed as well as the frame, so I did a little negotiating and got the whole thing... glued and all for $25. And I bought a leather over the shoulder purse, carved flowers on the front. And a few things for the grandkids. Yes, Earl was driving me nuts when we were rained in all last week! I kept busy with my beading, and other stuff I had going on! I'll let you know about he Mexican cruise when we get back. But Janet's been on that one, too. Our first time on this one. We have done Alaska 3X now! -
Wow! WELCOME to all the "Newbies"!! So nice to see so much activity here lately! Ask as many questions as you like... many of us here to answer!

HAHAHA!! I LOVE IT!!

Forgot one thing.... I bought the complete Beck Diet for Life... a year ago .... and never read it!! So since you've all been talking about the Beck books, I had DH drag it out for me this afternoon!! I have TOO many books to read. I'm listening to one audiobook on my iTouch, have a paperback I read every night before I fall asleep.. 1-2 chapters a night, and two brand new paperbacks to read by Feb.. 17 for our book club here in the RV park ... another thing I started this winter!! I wanted to stay busier this winter so I wasn't coming back to the RV after water aerobics each day and sitting around watching TV and on the laptop the whole rest of the day! So I have beading, choir, Red Hats, book club, volunteering in the activities office!! YIKES!! Have to keep it all on my Blackberry & my laptop so I get reminders as to where I'm supposed to be and when!!

DESERT!! You have to come down to the desert SW!! Love it here!! Wish it was no bra Sunday for me. It's underwire day for me!! LOL Hey... it's MY desert, too, at least part time! Yeah, had to be up by 7 a.m. so I could be ready for the shower by 8 a.m. Choir sang at both services this morning so had to be there at 9 a.m. for practice. We sounded much better today, but wish I could say the same for the orchestra! Oh, well! I keep telling myself... they're OLD and they're still playing! Get over it! They don't know they're off key! You asked about PS.... I wanted to go to that bandster bash in Seattle because I knew I could talk to some plastic surgeons there. I never heard back from the chick at the Navy base, but we're going up there again Thursday to pick up Rx, so will try to check on it then. You asked me one other thing but I forgot what it was! iPhone, Blackberry, other??? Now I forgot what kind of application you were looking for! That's cuz I'm old and I forget stuff! That's one of my favorite lines! BTW, did I tell you I was born and raised in Buffalo??? Mom, sisters, etc still live there and several of DH family, too. DH was in AF, so we've lived ALL over the country.... CA, FL, CO, OK, ND, WA... I think that's all! But I do LOVE to have mountains nearby. One of the homes we owned in WA back in the 80's had a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier out the kitchen window. I can't tell you how many hours I spent during 5 yrs in that house sitting at the kitchen table staring out the window and contemplating my navel!! LOL! Watching football, but better not tell you who I'm rooting for!! HAHAHA! Watching Jets/Colts right now... recorded.... and not happy to see NY going down! Looks like they're going to lose it! Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers were my two "Fantasy" QBs on my Fantasy team this year, so I supposed I should be rooting for the Colts, but sure would like to see the Jets go to the Super Bowl! I haven't started any new Sudoku games in a couple of days because I had about a dozen to play on Earl's account! But I think I finished the last one last night after midnight!! So I'll have to start some new ones.

So sorry about the mess at your bro's house! I know.... family, but I'd be tempted to hire someone to come in and haul it all away! I hear you on the book store issue! Even the library! What a pain! I did find a book that's one of our book club assignments for next month at costco today. I hate the way they display their books in stacks. It's too hard to scan them to find anything. Can't believe I found that book today! So I had to pay a few bucks more for one I ordered from Amazon this week. But guess what... if I'd ordered both of them from Amazon, might have been enough for free shipping. Busy day today.... I did sleep until almost 8 a.m. Only day I can sleep in is Saturday! Then we went to do our shopping... Trader Joe's, Walmart, Costco, plus I had to go to Wells Fargo and SBX! I've been having so many stomach problems... reflux, burping, hiccups... that I bought ONE bottle of Papaya and told Earl he is in charge. I have to ask him for it, so I won't be abusing it and eating it like candy!

Glad you made it to your hair appt and back home without incident! I grew up in Buffalo NY, so I think I know how to drive in snow and ice, but I sure don't like it. Good thing I rarely have to worry about it! The rain stopped, at least for now, and the sky was blue and the sun came out! The mountains surrounding Palm Springs were absolutely gorgeous today... covered with fresh white snow. What a backdrop!! But we're supposed to get another storm on Tuesday. I had to chuckle at your comments about DS's girlfriends. My sister went through that with one of her three sons several times before he married! She'd get really attached and then they'd break up. The other two aren't yet married and I think both are well in to their 30's now. I'm beginning to think neither will marry. One is a recovering drug addict and I think that is causing him commitment problems. The other had OCD and sister has convinced him he should never have kids so he is leary of getting i to serious relationships. I think it's a bunch of bull and she is doing him a disservice! Her only daughter married last summer. She wants grandchildren so bad! Meredith.. was looking at some of your photos on FB a little while ago. You are certainly a stunning young lady! Love the NYC pictures! I've only been there a couple of times even though I grew up in Buffalo. But I'd love to go back. We have a dear friend, from high school, who lives there and she's been having a real struggle with lung cancer for over a year now and I'd love to go visit her. You all are quiet today!! Wish I was joining you all in FL!! Scheduled a trip to Seattle to see DDs, Dr. appts, but that weeked so I could attend a "bandster bash" in Seattle only to find out recently that it was postponed to March! Grrrr! I was after a PS consult!

Friday night... must all be out partying!! We had Baked Potato night tonight but we decided not to go. We had leftover meatloaf instead. But... it was a little overdone to begin with and heated up... even dryer. So I slimed... and then just lost a lot of it. Haven't done that all week. The chili has been going down nicely. I should have smothered the meatloaf in catsup! I think the rain has stopped AGAIN!! Maybe it won't come back this time! Choir practice as annoying. All the parking spots by the door were blocked with golf carts parked in car spaces! So I had to park way around the side in a golf cart slot! Didn't mind the walk, but I knew it would be raining when I came out. And it was POURING when we were done! But I came out a side door not too far from the car so I didn't get too wet. The other thing that was annoying is that I don't like the music we're using over the next few weeks, it didn't sound good, and we're singing with the orchestra on Sunday and they sounded AWFUL! And the lady who was singing tenor with me decided to switch to alto so now I am the ONLY lady singing tenor with the men. I'm losing my incentive to continue!

Made it through water aerobics and hot tub time without rain today! But the 2nd class wasn't that lucky! LOL! It started raining about half way through their class. I was in the showers by then. But Earl brought the scooter up to me and then took it back to the RV! Fortunately he brought an umbrella so he could get it back without getting it wet. I had taken the car up earlier, so I ended up driving it back. He was going to use it to bring the laundry up. We made a crockpot full of chili on Tuesday, so we've been eating that all week. Except last night Earl made a meat loaf. The sun is out right now, but I see dark, ugly, unfriendly looking clouds coming this way! Its supposed to stop by tomorrow. It's kind of chilly, too. It was 46 this morning when I went up to water aerobics, and car thermometer said it was still 46 when I went back to the RV 2 hrs later! That's pretty cold for here! -

Wait a minute!! That was JANET loving the rain! NOT ME!! I live in WA, remember??? I see plenty of that when I go home! It can stop any time now and I'll be happy. Water aerobics and hot tub in the pouring rain this morning was unique, but I'm not anxious to do it again any time soon! After I did some serious arm twisting, we went in to Desert Hot Springs for a short trip! We needed eggs, gas in the empty gas tank, and Mama needed a latte from SBX! AND, I needed to get out of "the compound" for a little while just to make sure the real world is still out there. So we went to the grocery store, gas station and SBX. It was an adventure. Had to drive through several inches of water in two different places. In fact, Earl chickened out once, but then we came that way on the way back and did just fine. The sun was out when we got back to the RV but now the sky is getting very dark again. Waiting to hear how Janet's trip across town went!! LOTS of roads closed in and around Palm Springs. -
So you're driving over to Tijuana? Are you doing it all in one day? Wondered if you thought about stopping in PS. Still raining here! Didn't think we'd have water aerobics this morning, so decided to join the DVD walkers for a while. Did 30 minutes of that and then 15 minutes on the stationary bike. THEN I saw a couple of the water aerobics gals going to the pool with the CD player!! They set it up under cover so it wouldn't get wet. So, decided to go to that, too! So I got in a lot of exercise this morning. Had to take off my glasses because it was raining so hard I couldn't see, and my hair got soaking wet! But it was fun. And then we went and sat in one of the hot tubs in the rain!

Unfinished projects?? Yes, I have two at the moment! One is even MORE unfinished tonight than it was earlier today! I started on that poinsettia bracelet before Christmas! I was going to do it as the pattern shows... red/green. But then saw a couple in different colors and I liked the monochrome one.. pearls and clear crystals and silver spacers. So I got it about halfway done during class. So took it to activities with me today to work on while I sat there manning the desk and phone for 2 hrs. But I added a few beads and the more I looked at it, the more dissatisfied I was with it. Threads showing where they shouldn't and a couple of little mistakes that I decided I couldn't live with so I took the whole thing apart and I'm going to start over! I also have the necklace I started last week! I need to work on that because I'd really like to wear it on the cruise... and that's only 10 days away! What is it about California!!???? I wanted to see a weather update... so I put on the 10 p.m. news... and so far the first 20 minutes is helicopter coverage of a police chase. WHO CARES!???? I want to watch the news and weather!! Went to meeting tonight... almost 2 hrs... Community Emergency Response Team. They want me to join because I have a HAM radio license. Problem is we can't find my radio. I know it is somewhere in this RV but Earl insists we left it home. I NEVER leave it home when we go for the winter. He just can't find it and doesn't remember where he put it. Tracy checked the condo yesterday and couldn't find it. -

Pouring down rain for the last 2 hrs or so.... 3rd day in a row to have rain like this and it's supposed to be worse tomorrow! Hope you can get to Dr. Bobby's, Janet! Roads might be flooded!! Candice gave me the idea to use PayPal for the deposit. Actually, the homeowner, Suzanne Lambert, suggested it as a way I could pay her, but didn't dawn on me until Candice mentioned it, that you could all send me your $$ that way. So I sent each of you a "money request" for $38. Then when I receive the money in to my account, I will use it to pay Suzanne. Got in our water aerobics this morning, but I don't know about tomorrow! Not if this rain keeps up. -
Welcome to the new people!! Glad to have you join this thread. I was banded 7/20/07. Still losing slowly. I'm down almost 130 lb.

Overcooked food is ABSOLUTELY a problem... for me, at least. The only steak I eat is filet, my fish cannot be overdone or it won't stay down. Last night I pb'd some chicken. I can't eat chicken breast unless its very tender and never if it's overdone. My DH is a Viet Nam vet, also. He came home pretty healthy emotionally, but he was pretty protected on an air base. Not that they didn't get shelled frequently, but he endured it all very well.

Good Evening!! It's RAINING again!! It's been raining a good part of the afternoon and evening! I had a busy day! Water aerobics, hot tub, shower and then straight to beading. It was cold and rainy outside and not much incentive to leave, so most of us stayed until about 3:30 p.m. We were working on a bracelet today and I wanted to finish it before I left since I already have two other projects that are still unfinished! I did my bracelet in red and purple... I just gave away a Red Hat bracelet because it was too big. I have small wrists. That's one nice thing about making my own bracelets.. I can make them small enough to fit. This one today.. I made it too long and ended up having to take some of it apart. Got both ends of the fastener on, tried it on my wrist and it fell right off. So had to take off one end of the fastener, take off 2 or 3 patterns and reattach the fastener! What kind of ticked me off is that I want to make matching earrings and she charged me for the extra beads I needed to make the earrings! Doesn't seem fair since everyone else uses more beads, pearls, etc., than me because my wrists are small! Heard from the owner of the home we want to use this summer. She wants $268 deposit. I can pay it with Paypal. Or she said we could send her a check. -

Looked at that place. Very nice... but not too conveniently located. It's in Bremerton, which is on the other side of Puget Sound... long car drive or 1 hr ferry ride to get there. Don't see anything really compelling about it to choose it over the Camano Island place. It may be physically bigger, but doesn't say anything about pull out sofas... so don't know why it says it sleeps 8 with 3 beds. And would be a pain to drive the RV over there, and expensive... I think about $80 to take it on the ferry, or 100+ miles to drive around through Tacoma and back north. Lots more to see and do on the other side of the sound. -

Homeowner just called me. Very nice lady. I asked her about deposit and I can't remember what she said!! I think it was 25%, which would be about $200 unless she adds in the $200 cleaning fee. It's... king size bed in master, two twins in 2nd BR, 2 pullout sofas in the LR. I assume floor space for blow up mattresses if we need more sleeping space, and she said RV parking is ample.. so we'll park the RV there for a couple more beds... queen size plus queen pull out in front. Tracy is happy you're coming to WA and wants to have us over for BBQ... on the 4th if you like. Then we can either go to our church for fireworks... big professional display, or back to our house on the waterfront as homeowner says all the neighbors do thier own thing and there will be plenty of fireworks there to enjoy. Another thing I asked the lady about is quilting places.. for our quilt ladies... she emailed me the name of a shop very close to where we'll be within 5 minutes and has a friend who will give her some other suggestions. So.. are we set on this place??? Have you all had a chance to look at the pictures...? It's the Camano Island place.. I think she said Port Susan. -

I think we've zoned in on the Camano Island home. It's on the water with a beautiful view, not more than 1/2 hr from where we live, has RV parking so can bring the RV for extra beds, close to outlet mall, casino, restaurants. It's 60 miles from the airport. We'll figure that out. Hoping Tracy will help with transportation. It's $200/night plus $200 cleaning fee... so I guess that would be $1000 for the four nights. Not too bad divided up. We will have to reserve it soon since it's a holiday weekend. So, you all need to look at it closely... do your own research if you want.... zero in on Snohomish County if you do that... Candice found a place in Spokane!! That's 6 hrs away on the other side of WA state! LOL! So, stick with Snohomish County if you want to look some more. But this is one of the few I found that was affordable and big enough. It has 2 bedrooms, one king size bed, I think it's twins in the other but I looked at so many I'm not sure... Then it has two pullout beds. If we need more sleeping space... I will borrow blow up mattresses. I think Tracy may have one. -
Yes, school I went to in NY state did the same thing. Right up through high school the Catholic kids left early on Mondays. In high school, the rest of us got sent to study hall until regular dismissal time. When you think about it... with all the financial troubles school systems have now.... back in those days those kids got bussed to their churches that day. That would never happen these days. So many schools don't provide bus service at all anymore. Some of our grandkids have to take public busses to get to school so the moms carpool them. So sad that you might have to kill time at Starbucks or McD's!! :w00t::biggrin: I'd pick Starbucks but you probably already know that!! LOL! Yes... keep practicing that Sudoku! You can beat me! I know you can! If you get a new purse, we want to see a picture! Hey, Nawlinz!! It sounds like you're doing GREAT! Don't be so quiet! Jump in! It's all good! We have about 2 more days of nice weather before a week of what we are warned is going to be very wet. We'll see if they're right. But we planned a trip to Quartzsite AZ with friends from our high school days.. we were supposed to go Monday, but we're going Sunday instead because of the weather forecast. Then hope to stay tomorrow night at a casino near the Mexican border so we can go to Algodones the next day.. if it's not too wet!
