Lucky #7 are still going strong !!!
phyllser replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, we just about always go to Anthony's at Happy Hour time. Usually have a glass of wine, appetizer (oysters if they have them) and enjoy the sun. Tracy wants to go tomorrow, so we might go again. Zoey was so good there last night. They don't allow dogs, so we just sat at the very last table and put her around the corner on the handicap ramp. As soon as she got it that she couldn't come over and sit with us, she went into her little red carrier and went to sleep. Of course, if Zoey has her surgery tomorrow... that could change our Happy Hour plans! Or maybe she'll just sleep in her carrier again. We have 84 degrees and it's not yet noon! Such a nice day. We took the trip down to the lake... Zoey and I ended up cruising around the neighborhood for 2 hrs because we made stops after we split with Earl... Safeway, sports store, Surf Shack and Target where I got her some more treats. Oh, Theresa gave me your SF White Choc powder, but she has to go home and look at her bill to tell me how much. It's as big as a coffee can... 2 1/2 lbs. Hope Karri is having a great time in Vegas. And Candice is home by now. Karri's beans are so good! I had a little for both lunch and dinner the past two days! Guess I'll have to start making my own. -

What a GREAT weekend. So good to see all of you and missing you like crazy now! Still working on getting photos on FB! And enjoying the nice weather!! LOL!! Summer got here right after you left and it's supposed to be 89 today, 93 tomorrow! We're going to take Zoey to be spayed tomorrow... mobile van in the area... have to be there at 6 a.m. because first come, first served and they only take so many per day. Will have her microchipped, too. Right now she's scratching on the door because "daddy" took the garbage to the dumpster without her!! Candice.... I have to work on some more tricks, because she definitely has the "sit" and "down"!! Riding in the basket... if she stands up, I just tell her to "sit" and for the most part, unless there are too many distractions, she does it. Bad part is... yesterday when Earl brought out the wine and little stainless steel condiment cups... she knew there was cheese in them. So she was at my feet doing her little bark and when that didn't work, she sat! I still ignored her, so she did the "down" with her head cocked looking at me sweetly! So I think she got about 1/3 of my cheese!! Who can resist that face and she is so proud to do her tricks! Skipping Primetimers again... too nice to go sit inside for 3 hours!! Gotta go... Earl wants to do the "lake loop" walk and then go to Costco! I thought we were just there yesterday! Oh... that was just to fill up the Chevy... We went for a long ride in hte 53 Chevy yesterday with Zoey. In fact, we went to Anthony's Home Port for Happy Hour! No more oysters! They ran out. So I had shot glass shrimip cocktails! -
Hi, Cat Lady! Welcome to this thread! I was banded at 63-- 3 yrs ago. In fact, just got back from 3 yr reunion with gals from the July 07 thread.... 8 of us rented a beach house here in WA state for the July 4th weekend. Had a GREAT time! Will post a photo. You won't be sorry! Best decision I ever made! Will..... GREAT metaphors and excellent advice! Good to hear from all of you!

Ellensberg!! Impressive! Should've come on in! You could've crashed here. Candice came in this morning at 11 a.m. We pick up Janet at the airport at 11 a.m. tomorrow morning. Then we'll come back to the condo & pick up all our stuff... refrigerator stuff, groceries... and go on up to the beach house. Have to make a costco stop. Didn't get all the stuff yet. Earl got coffee and pork roast.... which he cooked all day today... but he forgot the blueberries and we didn't get the canned chicken Karla wanted yet. Beach house check in is 3 pm, but it might take us that long to get all that done. Do you have gps??? You can just punch in my address and meet us here.... 9210 Market Place, Everett WA, Bldg F 103. -
Wait a minute!! WE CAN get sand in our underpants... it's not a ROCK beach!! Lots of driftwood though!!
-
Great update, Linda!! You and Julie are so good at bringing us all up to date!! I think I really like the FFFF's!! LOL So much looking forward to the next few days with my "7's"!! Candice arrived today.. she and I have gone to my Surf Shack for latte's with the puppy! Zoey loves it now... first trip in the scooter basket freaked her out. Now she welcomes those rides and gets all excited when we get near the Surf Shack because she knows she's going to get treats! And, we walked over to the dollar store and got "stuff"! One of our gals has a birthday tomorrow... so we got some fun things for her birthday party and ordered a cake. It's not a veggie cake, Janet! Get over it!! LOL! Decided she probably hasn't had many real birthday cakes with candles and sing "Happy Birthday", blow out the candles and make a wish!! So we ordered a very special birthday cake and got candles and bubbles, etc.! It'll be fun. So now we're having some wine and then Earl is taking us across the street for prime rib.... Candice and I will split a dinner! Today my wonderful husband has done all this for our "7's" get-together... ground a big bag of coffee that he got at Costco yesterday, cooked a 13 lb pork shoulder roast all day and then pulled all the pork for us, and made a bowl of macaroni salad! He is a winner! We won't have to cook all weekend. Tomorrow... Janet comes in a little after 11 a.m. We'll make a Costco stop for some popcorn, etc before we go to the beach house! We're going to have a GREAT time! Friday DD is going to go with us to LaConner and show us where to get the best salmon burgers in the world!!! She says!! LOL! And I think she says there's a quilting store there for our quilting gals. That would NOT be me!! HAHAHA! We took the puppy to the dollar store with us. She walked all the way there and then she just planted her feet and decided that was enough walking! So I had brought her small carrier bag.. put her in it and put her in a shopping cart and rode her around in the store. When we came out... made her walk again. That made it down about 3-4 stores and she was done again! She is tiny with short little legs, and I guess she was tired. So... back in the bag and slung her over my shoulder until we got to Albertson's. Then back in a shopping cart while we did our thing in there. Then had to carry her home. She was all tuckered out.

Food.... only if there is something in particular that you want. Have some groceries already, Earl is grinding our coffee right now, and he just put a pork shoulder roast in the oven for pulled pork. I think we will stop at Costco on the way back from the airport today and get the popcorn and the blueberries for Karla. Maybe I'll get a big jar of mixed nuts. But there is a Costco and a Walmart, and other grocery stores on the way to Camano. Last little community you go through before you get to Camano is Stanwood and there are all sorts of stores there, too. And a "General Store" as you come in to Camano. I think there are plenty of blankets and linens. -

Well... I've been up an hour and a half, but still trying to wake up and get my butt in gear! Have to pack my beach house bag yet. Need to get in the shower. Have to leave to go to the airport to pick up Candice by 10 a.m. Great time at Lake Chelan with Tracy and Jim. -
Lost my post last night!! Too tired and frustrated to post again!! We went RVing on the other side of the mountains for a couple of days with DD & SIL. Had a great time, beautiful weather! We were at Lake Chelan State Park. First time we'd ever been there. DD & SIL had camped there many times. Took an all day boat ride to the end of the lake on Monday... Lady of the Lake cruise. We took both dogs in their carriers. About 3 hrs up, 3 hrs back, 1 1/2 hr stop at a resort at the end of the lake. Stehekin I think was the name of that little community. Accessible only by boat. We had lunch there and the dogs had a chance to get some exercise, eat and have potty time. Staying in the RV was very good for the pets! They came to an "understanding" because of being forced to share a small space. Zoey's "come uppance" happened when she got curious about why Candy was curled up under the driver's seat. That is Candy's space and she did not take kindly to Zoey poking around. Not sure exactly what happened as it occurred between the seat and the driver door, but it involved a lot of hissing and puppy squealing. Candy has no claws, but I figure she gave her a pretty good swat and she is respecting Candy's space ever since. Candy learned her lesson in the middle of the night. Zoey was in her crate in our bedroom on my makeup table. There was a crash in the middle of the night and kitty squealing this time. We believe that Candy deliberately knocked the carrier off the shelf, but it apparently clobbered her on the way down. Zoey couldn't have cared less... "oh, well.... I guess I can sleep upside down"!! Candy is still in charge, but she's decided it's okay if Zoey's crate is in our room at night because last night she was sleeping on our bed again... which she has refused to do since the puppy came to live here. I got lots of exercise while we were gone.. lots of walking, lots of STEPS! But didn't necessarily eat all the right things and definitely had too much wine two nights! Quickly breezed through four pages of posts last night... speed reading! Excited so many are going to make it to Vegas! I better get off the computer. First of the "7's" arrives in 3 hours. Have to get in the shower, haven't packed my bag for the beach house yet, and 1 hr drive to the airport. It is a GREAT day, though. It won't be very warm, but it's nice and sunny. Tomorrow may be a little rainy, but should be sunny after that but no warmer than 70 if the weatherman is right.

Blessings to everyone!

Before I forget! Quilt shop: Cotton Pickins 8718 270th St. NW Stanwood, WA 98282 360-629-4771 She's much better walking on the leash now. She is doing really great. We are both very pleased with how well she has adapted to us, to the condo, to the RV... GREAT time at Lake Chelan the last few days. Zoey and Candy have come to an "understanding"!! LOL! Candy had to put puppy in her place on the trip over when she intruded in to her space under Earl's seat. She is now respecting Candy's boundaries! Okay..... 279 Driftwood Shores Camano Island Suzanne says, yes, the beach house has a very nice ironing board and iron in the 2nd bedroom, but.... "Is this person not on no iron island time??" LOL! We have two queen size beds, 2 pull out couches.... air mattress might be a good idea in case someone wants to sleep on the floor. -
Congrats on ONEDERLAND!! And the new knee! I had my left one done last summer. I am Very pleased with it. Sorry about your tornado! Yeah... new adventures every hour!! LOL

You tell him!! I'm not going to rock the boat!! LOL! I went and got $400 out of my "mad money" acct this morning. And when I tried to give it to him, "here is some of the money I owe you." He looked real sheepish and wouldn't take it! First he said he didn't want cash. He wanted me to deposit in the American Express acct... I can only get cash out of that savings acct... not a check. AND, I can't "deposit" something to a credit card!! I paid for the dog with my Am Ex cc. He knows that! I told him I'd go get a money order with it and mail it to our checking account. He nixed that idea too! Then hhe told me to put it back in my account! So I told him to take $100 cash and I would take $100 and I'd put the rest back! So that's what I did! At Walmart yesterday he wouldn't let me pick out the dog food! He said I could pick out the treats but HE was picking out the dog food! So he bought the same thing the lady had been feeding her. The lady gave us a zip lock bag full of dry food... which will last forever at the rate she eats (!), and 1 can of something else I can't remember the brand name now. But... she's still eating the first can! She only eats a couple of tablespoons of that twice a day and a little bit of dry food. Tracy and Jim were here with Gigi today. They don't yet play together, but they get along very well. I'm still worried about Candy. First I thought she was just pouting... but now I'm thinking... she's depressed! She and Zoey were staring each other down in the hallway today.. which is probably a good thing! At least Candy came out of her hideaway! Tracy took this picture of the two dogs on my lap... I said, Gigi is smiling for the picture but Zoey is trying to wiggle away! -
That's a great idea. I was looking at those Kong toys at Target this morning. But does the peanut butter leave a mess? You could put a treat inside, right?? I have the little tennis balls...although two of them are already lost!! Under furniture somewhere, I'm sure. She doesn't seem to mind the crate though. Protested only once... when we were getting ready to go to the gym yesterday.. because she wanted to go too! RV test this weekend!! Going "camping" for a couple of days. Cat is NOT happy and she has few places to hide from Zoey in the RV. Expect she'll spend a lot of time behind the couch! Getting concerned about her... she's old and she does NOT like this intruder! WOW!! That is GREAT, Will!!

Zoey got all wound up about 10 pm!! Freaky playful! Sometimes you just can't settle her down. Then she did her little "I want something" bark at 3:45 a.m. very quiet little woof. then if you don't respond it's another "woof". After three woofs I decided she had to potty. So I took her outside and she had to poop. I'm half asleep... it's the middle of the night.... it's dark out and scary quiet. I don't feel like walking around in the wet grass to see if there really is a pile of puppy poop out there somewhere... she squatted in three different places. So I waited until this morning to go pick it up. Then I put her back in her crate, get in bed, and 10 minutes later realize that I didn't say "GOOD GIRL!" and give her a treat!! GUILT!! Oh, well. At that point it was too late. She keeps chewing on her back leg and it's getting all pink and irritated. Should I put some antibiotic ointment on it??? Figure out how much I owe you for LV and I'll give you a check when you get here next week. Yeah... 4 days in a row of exercise... I need a break today! Shoulder a little sore. We will do "lake loop"... me on scooter.... in a little while and I'll take Zoey in the basket again. Unfortunately, Candy seems to be very depressed! She came out a few times yesterday, but wouldn't sleep with us last night because the dog...in crate... was in the room on Earl's night stand. Okay... I wrote that all down on my shopping list. Yes... we're right on the beach.. so you can beach comb to your heart's content! Earl just looked up weather report for next weekend. Chance of rain Sat/Sun, temps in the 60's. He says to tell you all to bring warm clothes! Good Grief!! Enough drama for one day??? And doesn't sound like you can find time to squeeze in a nap!! Glad everything turned out okay!! Text messages from my sister.... Uncle Ed's surgery is over and went well-"best possible scenario", per the surgeon. They should be able to see him in an hour and the doctor said he'll probably go home on Tuesday! Kind of fast for an 86 yr old guy who just had heart bypass surgery!!! -

Yeah, she's doing great considering she's been here barely 48 hours! She seems quite comfortable with us. And Candy is starting to wander out for short visits. I think she's going to be fine with it eventually, too. This weekend in the RV should be very interesting!! They will be in very close quarters for several days!! -
Julie, Would it help if I brought my scooter for you to use. My small one fits in Janet's trunk, so I could bring it. So glad to hear the Mayo news! Laura... I'd be ticked at those camp people, too! Common sense to use sun screen and keep the kids drinking water in that climate!! Frustrating!

Yeah, it's getting close to ridiculous! She's all cuddled up on his lap now... watching Judge Judy! He bought a "dog grooming" kit at Walmart! Took her outside to trim her and she totally freaked out. So he boxed it all up and he's taking it back. But then he took the comb and scissors to her and I do NOT like the outcome! She looks better now that she dried and fluffed up a little, but she looks way tinier than she did with all that hair. Then he decides she needs a bath. So he fills up the bath tub and takes her in there and gives her a bath with baby shampoo. She freaked out AGAIN... like hysterically running around in circles all through the house! She didn't like being wet and was rolling in the rug trying to get dry. Tried to wrap her up in a blanket in my lap but she was too freaky! but it didn't take her long to settle down and now she's fine. What an exciting day! She loves to play catch with one of her balls. But now all I can find is one. Two little tennis balls are temporarily lost! Engine/electrical noises freak her out... so electric trimmers were a bad idea from the get go!! Had to take her for a walk when Earl brought out the vacuum cleaner! So I took her for a walk and she wiggled out of the harness when a truck pulled in to the parking lot! So... another exciting day in the Hand household! LOL! I am up and moving around and much more active the past 48 hrs.. so you think the scale would move??? Maybe 1 lb! And busting my butt at the gym/pool this week, too. PT gal told me again today.. in all the time she has been there, NO ONE has done a program as vigorous as what I'm doing. She wants to start transitioning me from the pool to the gym. She says I'm "strong" and she wants to instruct me on the machines and monitor what I'm doing. So.. probably a good idea. Next week is so busy, only time I can go is 7 a.m. Thurs. morning... you don't have to get up that early, Candice!! But I'll get up at 6 a.m. so I can get over there by 7 a.m.... 8 a.m. was already booked. So, plenty of time to do my 1 hr, shower, dry my hair and get back home. And even plenty of time to go to Surf Shack before the airport!! LOL. Then the following week we will do one session in pool and one in gym. Food has been good. Fewer snacks, good restriction. Following the rules. My Skinny Cow treats... one a day usually, now have to be held high in the air between bites as usually have the new little critter on my lap when I'm having my treat and she thinks I should share! She also tried to get at my wine and cheese this afternoon! Did a little shopping for our weekend today. I am finding that since Earl has been doing ALL the shopping, I am a bit overwhelmed by all the choices!!! HAHAHA!! I had a hard time deciding on a bag of coffee! And when I did... he came by and told me that was stupid because I could get a much bigger bag at Costco for less $$$~~ !! So he wants to take Candice and I to Costco on the way home from the airport to pick up stuff like that, and he's going to get a pork shoulder roast at the same time and he's going to cook in for us ... I didn't know which popcorn to get either... 100 calorie bags, or what?? And does anyone want Decaf coffee??? I did get SF Hazelnut Coffee Mate powder. Hope that is right! And I got a variety box of Celestial herb teas for Candice. Three of them have chamomille in them, though...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! That puts me right to sleep! And I got a 5L box of Peter Vella Merlot. White wine in a box was "crisp" white, "refreshing" white or charonnay... so I didn't get any. Any other ideas??? Thought about making macaroni salad to go with the pulled pork, but... 210 calories for 1/2 cup. What do you think? Whole Wheat is 210, regular is 200! But Whole Wheat is healthier. Trying to think of what to have with the pulled pork. Baked beans probably, and something else. Maybe baked potatoes. Earl suggested he bake some for us and we can heat them up. Okay... this is making me hungry! After 6 pm... time to eat! Food today... eggbeaters omelet w/shrimp, latte, chili for lunch, cheese and wine this afternoon. Still have left over chili so I'm having it AGAIN for dinner...my choice. Earl found some other leftovers. Zoey just went in her crate! She likes it! Her two little tennis balls are still lost. We had to play catch with the big red ball. She hears the microwave going so she thinks she's going to eat again! Earl just fed her. Oh... HE had to pick out the dog food. I was allowed to pick out the treats! Give me a break! I thought this was MY dog!!! LOL! -
Yeah... I do the same... buy a lot of things on the internet, pay most of my bills online. I love automatic bill pay... don't have to worry about when they're due, don't have to write checks or pay postage... everything gets paid on time. No worry! Always make my travel arrangements online. Usually book cruises by phone, but start online... find hte one I want for the price I want. We still have a Tivo in our bedroom, but have HD TV in the LR and use the Comcast DVR. Like Tivo better! Had a DirecTV Tivo in the RV but it quit last winter. And since they no longer have a contract with Tivo, had to accept the new one they sent us. Zoey is 6 mos old... trouble with that is... she's already developed a few bad habits... like she likes to chew on fingers! Kennel lady that had her let her do that. But I don't like it so I'm trying to break that habit by telling her "NO" and giving her something else to chew on when she starts that. It's just her way of playing... but I don't want my hands chewed on! She's piddled on the carpet twice... but not since yesterday, and I think she's getting that pretty good. Gotta train her to walk with the leash. Dh has her outside now and is trying to trim her but she is freaking out.
-
Yes, we're working on walking on a leash... a new experience for her but she's getting it. Also... i use my handicap scooter as my neighborhood "golf cart"... like yesterday I put 5 miles on it! So trying to get her used to riding in the basket for short trips to the grocery store, etc. When she gets better with the leash, we'll walk some of that, but when I go across the busy highway, I will probably use the scooter a lot. The cars and trucks freak her out. But after her near hysteria yesterday... today when I left for the gym wihtout her she was quite upset. She ranout the door with DH when she saw him uncovering it and jumped on the scooter floor. And she resisted going in to her crate for the first time since we got it. So when I got back from PT I took her for a ride over to get my latte. She was much more relaxed about crossing the highway this time. But--yeah... I am for sure getting a LOT more exercise! LOL

Okay... now this is getting pretty funny! The man who did NOT want a dog is heating her dog food in the microwave, brushing her all the time, told me that we can only have her at the beach house the first night because we're going to be too busy. So... we can have her one night so everyone can meet her, and then he's going to come and get her Friday afternoon. AND, he says he's picking up uis that day and dropping us off at Anthony's Home Port while he goes to the airport to pick up Linda. And... now we're taking the dog to Walmart with us beacause it's a cool day and she won't get too hot in the car. When I got back from the pool he had her all ready to go for a scooter ride with me to Surf Shack because she was "disappointed" that she didn't get to go with us when we went to the gym. I am trying to get her used to riding in the scooter basket as well as walking on the leash. The traffic freaks her out, but she was much more relaxed about it today. -
Good Morning, Gang! I've been trying to keep up with posts, but new puppy is REALLY keeping me busy! I bet I have a weight loss THIS week! I'm up and down a bazillion times a day, in and out of the house for potty trips, playing catch. Little stinker's favorite play, though, is chewing on your hands and I don't so much like that because she gets too rough. So I'm trying to find some small chew toy I can keep by my chair and transition her to that. I don't like my hands and fingers chewed on!! LOL! She's on the floor with a chew toy right now, after attacking DH's brand new Crocs for a minute! Our living room looks like we have a toddler! Don't remember if I shared photos or not, but here is a new one of "Zoey"!

She actually seems to like the crate. We're keeping it near the door and last night...last trip outside, when we got back in she went in it by herself. Earl put a folded up blanket in there for her, so it's comfy. She stays quiet in there all night. And it's making me get up early because I feel guilty if I stay in bed past 7 a.m. Earl is sticking to his "she's YOUR dog", so he leaves her for me when he gets up. He did take her out when I got up though, because he took her harness off last night. Not sure why, but I can't do it myself... she's too wiggly. Yeah... she does NOT make that much noise, and when she was barking at her toys it was hilarious and Earl was a nervous wreck and I think he was making more noise scolding her than she was making playing. She's ignoring the shoes now that she has some more toys. (Spoke too soon... she just went after Earl's new crocs again! short attention span, though, she's off to something else.) She's pretty smart.. she is getting treats for good behavior and she knows exactly where they are! The thing about making her walk on our "lake loop" circuit is we have to cross a really busy highway and cars completely freak her out. Once we got away from the main highway she settled down eventually, but then there's a long stretch where we have to go up the shoulder of the road. We had to take turns holding her for part of it because she was so scared she was trying to get out of the basket. So... I am continuing to walk her on the leash, but like Earl says... she gets pretty nervous when we get to blacktop! She's fine on the sidewalk and grass now... well except for tangling your legs up in the leash because she likes to weave between your legs! She almost killed a couple of neighbors with that! One lady picked her up weird yesterday and she tried to bite her. Silly dog is afraid to jump down off our chairs. What a wimp! My recliner is electric and I sit with my legs elevated ALL the time. So if she's on my lap and she wants down... it's push the down button on the elevator and then she jumps off! Hilarious! Earl doesn't think so! He gets frustrated when she wants off his lap and is afraid to jump down. He won't put his foot rest down!! LOL Now, Janet... I have to go to the gym for my pool PT in an hour. Think I won't ride the bike today. My calves were sore last night and I only did about 20 minutes yesterday. But, I'll still be gone about 2 hrs... shower, dry my hair and go get my latte on the way home. THEN, we're going to Walmart. I can't remember why... but one thing I know Earl is looking for is some kind of tool he saw on the internet to groom the dog! Like he knows what he's doing!! He's talking about some kind of comb that has a razor blade in it! I am going to have to closely monitor this one!! -

Yeah..NOT dying!! Hey...I'm definitely going to be seeing the scale go down!! I've been up and down a bazillion times today and in and out of the house about that many times, too. And playing catch! And picking up shredded kleenex! Crazy puppy is going berserk tonight and Earl is all paranoid about her disturbing the neighbors because she's making so much noise playing with her toys! So he was going to bed but he came back out and put her in her crate! Don't know what she's doin gin there but its rocking! I think she's trying to get out. I put her in there earlier today and didn't latch the gate right and she got right back out. So... did our "lake loop" this morning.. with the puppy in the scooter basket.... 3 miles. Then came home and put her in her crate and went to the gym. rode the bike for a while. Another reason I haven't been on the computer much today... puppy has been on my lap a lot and then I can't type. And... it's been warm and sunny for two days... nice to be able to sit out on the porch!! Now my allergies are bothering me. -

Oh, my gosh! She is such a sweetheart! So far... one little piddle on the carpet when we first got home yesterday. She is very playful, but does settle down and snuggle. She barks a little bark when she wants to be picked up. Yeah, she's pretty much won Earl's heart already. In fact, when we were still at the lady's farm, he was the one pushing taking her home when I was still wondering if she was too hyper! So... yeah.. we are both completely enthralled with our little girl. They were calling her "Pumpkin", but we didn't like that so we went back to the name on all of her paperwork....Zoey. I like that! And... Earl brushed her and cut her bangs this morning! Tracy came over with Gigi shortly after we got home and she and Gigi get along fine, too. Then we went to their place for dinner. That was a riot. She wanted to play with the big dogs, but only if she was sitting on someone's lap. Then she would bat at their faces with her paws and be playful, but she was too scared if she was down on the ground! And when Adam came home, it was killing her that he wasn't picking her up. She kept barking her little bark until I finally got him to pick her up for a few seconds. You have to pick her up... then she has to lick your face and ears and then she's content. She did the same thing with my neighbor when we got home. She loves the little boy upstairs and they wrestled in the grass for a minute or so yesterday. And she made friends with two of the neighborhood cats. So.... the only problem is that Candy is REALLY mad! Earl brought her out of "her bedroom" this morning and she sat on his lap hissing just because the puppy was in the room. I think she'll mellow out eventually but right now she won't come out of "her room"!! So... in the middle of the night I almost got up and got online because I was feeling so guilty that all I talked about was the dog yesterday because Uncle Ed is having heart bypass surgery either today or tomorrow. They tried to do the angioplasty/stent yesterday and the blockage was so complete they couldn't even get the catheter in. I don't know how he's even still walking around! So... keep him in your prayers. Speaking of the middle of the night.... Earl insisted on going to buy a crate for the dog before we went to Tracy's. So we went to the pet store and got one and put her in it in the car. She was perfectly content in there. So I put her in it when I went to bed last night and everything was fine until Earl got up to go to the bathroom and she started barking! So he put the crate on top of his night stand so she could see us and she was quiet the rest of the night. I brought her out when I got up a little after 7 a.m. , let her out and took her outside. Worked great. Lady told me she doesn't chew anything! Not true. She likes to chew fingers. So we bought her a toy and found our red ball... which she loves, but I'll go over to Target later and get some chewy things. And she does like shoes! Was in the bathroom changing in to my pjs last night and she was curled up on the bathroom rug. All of a sudden she grabbed one of my shoes and ran! I don't think her little teeth can do any damage, but she was just chewing on Earl's brand new crocs.
