    Any one in NW WA

Kammi, Hope to have an update from you soon. Trusting everything went well! Maggie, Yes, you may need another fill. If your weight loss stalls for several weeks, if you are getting hungry between meals, if you are able to eat more than you think you should be, then you probably need a fill. HOWEVER, DO NOT get discouraged. There are times when your weight loss is just going to be slow. I think you said 11 lb in one month.. that is FANTASTIC!! I seem to have a tendency to lose very small amounts for sometimes several weeks and then all of a sudden drop 5 lb in one week. Of course, following the "bandster rules" is important, as is getting some exercise. And IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES!!

Morning Coffee.... about 12 oz Crystal Lite.... about 16 oz so far Wine.... about 6 oz. Does that count?? I'm about to go for a ride on my scooter and buy a 12 oz latte. The rest of the day I'll be drinking Crystal Lite. I don't like water!!

It is very tempting to just get them both done at the same time. This doc told me they do it, but don't recommend it. We'll see what the other surgeon says next week. DH's problem.... rehab interfering with our summer travel plans and fall departure for warmer climes...i.e. Desert Hot Springs. If I can get the first one done within the next month, I should be all recovered by the time of our July trip. Then I was thinking I could get the other one done in August and still be ready to leave in Oct. I think we bought those Costco sausages once or twice. Sounds good.

I sometimes snack on those toasted wheat thin chips.. the veggie ones. I put a little low fat cream cheese... chive, onion, garlic... whatever I can find, and maybe a little smoked salmon. Alouette makes a low fat garlic & onion spread, too. I haven't tried the laughing cow brand.. I'll have to look for it. I saw an orthopedic surgeon this morning. After looking at my x-rays, he says I need a total knee replacement on BOTH knees! I was anticipating that for the left, but kind of overwhelmed that he said BOTH. I want to get the left one done ASAP and the right later in the summer. But DH wants me to wait until next year to do the right one. I have to think about it.

My BP was about the same... on two BP meds. My appt last week.... 118/62, I think. My doc was very pleased with that, but opted not to let me quit one of my meds yet. Did stop one cholesterol med, though, and that's a start. I was happy about that because I thought she'd reorder it. You handled that temptation well!! My treat... mid-afternoon, if I am having hunger issues... I go across the street and get myself a sugar free/fat free milk latte. Get's me out of the house and away from the temptations, out of my chair and away from the TV. Yes, it's all about choices!! DH was into the chips, crackers, cheese, etc., so, best to get out and away and get my little low cal treat! And today, I also rode over to the tag agency and renewed our car tags.. a productive distraction.

Good Afternoon, everyone! TOPS weigh in this morning... down 1/2 lb! I was hoping for more. But, they said the scale was weighing heavy today, and i was the best loser of the week with only that 1/2 lb loss, so that may very well be true. It's an old doctor's scale that gets moved around every week. Anyway, whatever it was, it went down! That's what counts. Still enjoying my Wii. It only lets you do your "Fitness Age" exercises once a day. Yesterday I did really well and it measured me at 40!! But after that I did some training exercises I'd never done before... some boxing and some power bowling where every frame the pins increase in number up to 91 pins! I did really well in that one and in the boxing. So, apparently, that readjusts the things you have to do to measure your fitness age because today I had to BOX. I couldn't seem to hit the bag with my right hand! And I had DISMAL results... 79!! Then I did some golf training, so I hope that doesn't mean its going to add that to tomorrow's test!! Wish we had room for a total gym! Should try to get them to put one in our clubhouse!! The Today Show has this "Joy Fit Club" feature that is beginning to annoy me. Today they had a gal on who had lost over 100 lb and they used the phrase "ON HER OWN"!! Doesn't that make you mad!!!???? Very irritating! They don't get it. And they have Al Roker. Look at him... he's gained back some of his weight... so, obviously, personal choices play a part here.

Ah... that reminds me... there was some dialogue about dreams the other day... was it Jacki and Janet?? Anyway, the next night I had a dream that we all went to Hawaii instead of the Mall of America!! I don't usually remember my dreams either, and I already forgot most of that one.. except that we went to Hawaii!!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hi, I'm 9 mos out and have never PB'd or choked. One episode of sliming, but I, too, am very careful. I HATE to throwup, so I'm pretty careful to make sure that doesn't happen!!

How cold??? You're doing great with the exercise. I won't say anything about the chips! I'm having a glass of wine! Yeah, good to be back on speaking terms with DD. Now just wait til she hears the other thing that I did!! Uh oh!! DGD better keep her mouth shut! I'm happy with my fill, too. Good to have that much restriction! Uh Oh... Food Cop on duty!! Great pictures of your run... you're getting us all excited!! Heck, I thought I did good to walk back & forth to the bathroom at church this morning!! Used to always use my scooter at church... not doing that anymore! We have a new "system".... my old heavy duty scooter stays home on the porch... I use it around the neighborhood.. over to Albertson's, Target, etc., down to the lake and the park, etc. New scooter comes apart real easy, fits inside the car much better with both the back seats up. So it is going to stay in the car and it only comes out for things like Costco, mall, etc. Did use it yesterday when we were babysitting the grandkids... took them to the park, but it's just not as sturdy as my old one. Home Depot trip sounds like a real frustration!! Surprising... every time we've ever been in any Home Depot the help is falling all over you trying to help. That is pretty pathetic! Maybe they're all still getting the hang of it! It seems to me that it may be possible to convert a propane BBQ grill to natural gas. I remember we had a gas outlet put in outside at our first OKC house, but we never did get a grill we could use with it in the 7 years we lived there! Started out looking but never got around to doing it!

I'm sure you won't let ME count shopping as exercise because I ride! I do need to log some "Wii" exercise on my signature but I lost count. BIG NEWS... after we got home from babysitting grandkids yesterday, the other DD CALLED ME ON THE PHONE!! Yeah, no six weeks this time!! She actually apologized for not calling me back all week. She still doesn't agree with what I did.... oh, bad mother who called her friend and said... she won't talk to me but she talks to you so would you think about calling to see how she is doing???....... but, she's speaking to me again. Said she needed some space. That's okay... BUT..... Wait until she finds out the other bad thing we did!! Then we'll be back in the dog house. She is refusing to pay for GD's graduation packet because she's mad at her... announcements, etc..... We didn't think that was right, so we went and paid for it and picked it up the other day. GD doesn't know we did it yet either. When it gets out there will be a whole new war!! This is too much drama for me!! I want to go back to the desert!:huh2::tongue: You see how you FREED Steph to unleash her shopping tendencies!! Wow!! She had FUN!! Good job on the pizza!! I was hungry yesterday, too. Neglected to take what I needed to DD's and we were there pretty much all day. So I had to scrounge for things to eat and not a lot of healthy food there. I found left over beef stew in the fridge... was mostly tomatoes with a few chunks of beef. That was okay but I was hungry an hour later! Found a string cheese and some beef jerky to fend off the hunger. Dinner time we were told to fix the kids fish sticks and tater tots. Well, I wasn't going to eat that either, so I found leftover spaghetti sauce in the fridge and heated up some frozen peas/carrots and put the sauce on top. It was weird, but filled me up. There were a whole bunch of "Lean Cuisine" things in the freezer, but, too many carbs and not enough protein and too many calories. I was going to eat one and then I changed my mind. Then about 9:30 pm, after we were home, I was hungry again!! Had some cottage cheese and peaches with cinnamon on top.

    New 60+ Thread

Thanks, Gals! I appreciate the compliments!! NSVs...hmmm... Yes, restaurant booths are more comfortable, chairs with arms... no longer a problem, I'm walking better and trying to walk more... use a handicap scooter (bad knees), but I'm seeing an orthopedic surgeon next week and hoping he can do something to help that problem. We were able to buy a smaller, lightweight scooter that is much easier for DH to load in and out of the car. Saw my PCP this week and she's letting me drop one cholesterol Rx... will recheck in six months and see if I'm still doing okay without it.

BTW.... You'll find there's a little more activity on the "New 60+" thread. They did some "housekeeping" a few months ago, and I thought they shut this thread down, so I was surprised to see a post here.

I noticed my "rep power" changed from 1 to 2 a few days ago. Is it linked at all to how many times you've posted, Janet?? I forget what all you said you found out about it. Feeling really bummed tonight. DD still not speaking to us... and I think we're in for a long haul. I want to get back in my RV and run away from all this drama! My "Wii Fitness Age" is 68 today!! At least it didn't go back up to 70+!! I played a game of baseball today, and bowling, hit a few golf balls and did some bowling training. I like this one session where you start out with 10 pins and then you keep getting more and more and more and the alley keeps getting wider and wider! It gets up to like 91 pins or more. My final score was about 479! I did pretty good in that one. It's amazing how the "ball" responds... you turn your wrist and it puts a curve on it. Pretty fascinating.

Hi, BJane, Don't be nervous... you'll do great. Sounds like you've been working hard to get everything lined up. Glad you got the gall bladder surgery out of the way! I use CPAP, too... about 3-4 years now. Still fight with the mask sometimes. But I'm pretty used to it by now. This is the place to be for support and encouragement. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. There are lots of us here willing to help. Keep us posted!

Our gas... $3.49 at Costco, more than that elsewhere. After listening to your weather report, I guess I'll quit complaining!! That's what I was going to suggest, too. Be creative! There is a thread for crock pot recipes and I found a lot of good ones there, though I haven't tried any yet. We have a pork loin in the freezer and one of the recipes said to put a pork loin in the crock pot with a whole bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce and cook for 6-8 hours. I'd probably add a little wine, too.
