Never tried it, but apparently those little icons will do what you want to do. I tried a couple of them. The little red "f".. is a site called "furl". You establish an account and then if you click on the "f" in the post you want to tag, it'll save it there for you. I think the other icons do the same things, just on different sites.

Did you see my little guy who got sick and died from drinking out of a plastic bottle??? (that's MY story and I'm stickin' to it) (it was one of those bottles with a #7 on the bottom) He is my favorite. I think I'll show you again!! He's a great actor!

YOU DID IT!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU'RE OUR LATEST HERO!!

I should've asked about PT... didn't think of it. He did encourage me to get to a pool and do some water exercise. We need to do that. I can do 40-50 minutes of Wii, but that probably isn't great for my knees.

You know what is really good... when I was in my liquid phase, I'd sometimes add a little sugar free raspberry flavoring... the kind they use for Lattes... I think mine is DaVinci... in my chocolate protein drink.. But there are lots of different flavors that come in sugar free, DaVinci as well as other brands, just for a little variety. I used the E.A.S. whey protein from Costco... at least I'm pretty sure it's whey.

Hi, I can give you some answers. It's really an entirely individual thing. Lots of people cannot tolerate rice, pasta or bread at all. I can eat all three in moderation and very carefully. But, I think you will find that as you make changes in your dietary habits, your desire for these things will begin to fade. Like, yes, I CAN eat bread, but I very rarely do because I want only quality foods on my menu, and with limited space in my stomach, I don't want to fill it up with bread! I want my meat/fish & veggies! Every Wed we have lunch at church with our 55+ group. There's always desert and I usually indulge in a couple of bites and pass the rest to my hubby. Today it was rainbow sherbet and sugar cookies... those waffle kind, you know? I started to eat this one little cookie, and YUCK!! I'm not used to the sweetness anymore and it was almost sickening! Pasta.... oh, my.... one of my very favorite foods!! But we just had "spaghetti" for dinner and we had the meat sauce on french style green beans! And I'm perfectly content to have it that way. But they did have macaroni salad on the menu at lunch today and I had a spoonful of it. That is definitely a weakness of mine so I just can't have it in the house. Out of sight, out of mind. They offered everyone leftovers to take home but I knew better. If we took some home, it'd be talking to me from the refrigerator until it was gone. Rice seems to be a BIG problem for some people, too, but I haven't had any trouble with it. Again, though, I very seldom have it. We don't fix it at home at all anymore, so the only time I have it is if we go out for Mexican and then I'll have a little but I mix it with my beans and maybe that's why I have no trouble with it. I have had one little sushi a couple of times because one of our neighborhood grocery stores often has sushi samples out for tasting. It's that sticky rice, which I have heard causes many a BIG problem... but I can eat one of those things and haven't experienced any trouble. So, go figure??? So I hope that helps you a little. Really the biggest thing I can say to you is... trust me... your whole attitude regarding your favorite foods will change! Honest! They will no longer be that much of a temptation for you. And you can have most anything you want to have if you just "budget" it... if you want to treat yourself to say a piece of chocolate or little bit of ice cream once a week... you adjust your calories to make room for it.

Hi, Well, the total knee specialist is about 10 years old, but seems very knowledgeable. He did throw me a curve. He showed me my x-rays and said the hardware in the right knee is coming loose because of the weight loss and so it is more urgent than the right. He said, even with the pain, the left one is more or less elective at this point but the right one is NOT because if it continues to get looser I could do serious damage. He says he only wants to do each one ONCE… wants this to last a lifetime for me, so he wants me to wait until I lose another 40 lb or BMI of 40. But, he’s concerned about the right one and wants to x-ray it again in two months. He says if it’s gotten worse, than he might have to go ahead and do it anyway. At the rate that I am losing, it looks like this won’t be happening until about a year from now because we head south again in Oct. It’s a little frustrating because I was hoping to be able to do a lot more walking sooner than that. So… that’s my knee story for today! I go back July 7th to see him again and x-ray again. Other than that, an uneventful day.

Well, when you are in the message square, you should be able to click on the smiley central button on your toolbar and the little box will pop up. Do a search on whatever you are looking for. When you find one you want, just clicking on it should drop it in to the box you have open. However, I've found that they can be stubborn little critters and sometimes it won't work! He is one of my favorites!

Yeah, I'm not going to quit using my new water bottle. I'm just rotating the "poison" one with the non-poison one!!:biggrin: If you turn your plastic items over and look on the bottom for the recycle icon.... little triangle... the number inside the triangle is the indicator. #7 is BAD, any other number is okay, I guess. -

Yeah, I bought a brand new $12 Camelbak bottle about two days before they came out with that.... sure enough, it has a #7 on the bottom!! I also bought a much cheaper Rubbermaid bottle a few days before that.. no problem with that one! When I went back to the first store a few days later... almost all the Camelbak bottles had been pulled off the shelves. -

You're doing GREAT, Lynn! Off to an exciting start! We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, Roses! You've done really well on the pre-op diet! Wow! 42 lb since January.... great! Doing well with exercise, too. Keep up the good work! -
A place for bandsters in their 60's

Sorry, Maggie... the head hunger is something you have to overcome. It does get better, but it's something you'll have to battle. As the weight comes off, I have more strength over temptations because I don't want to lose my momentum and sabotage my success. As time goes by, I am less and less tempted by things I used to have a weakness for. Something that helps a lot is to plan your snacks. Make sure you have things in the house that are healthy to snack on... know ahead of time what you are going to have when the hunger hits... and work at trying to distinguish between real hunger and "head" hunger. You CAN do this, I promise!! And, thank you so much for the compliment! -
Okay now??? You're not too tight, are you?? Maybe you ate to fast. My TOPS weigh in day... down 2 1/2 lb, and she had to move the little weight thingy down another 50 lb!! Very exciting weigh in for me... it was a biggy! All in all.... a very good day, even though the sun continues to refuse to make an appearance! Also, DD sent me an email last night... finally some dialogue! And she apologized for yelling at me last week. We are making some headway!

Thanks for the info, Shirley. I am in WA state. I had at home PT after the partial, but only for 2 wks. I had exercises I was supposed to do every day but I wasn't very diligent about it. I will do better this time! I will know more after I meet the surgeon on Wed. I'm still toying with the idea of doing both knees at once, but I'd have to persuade the surgeon AND my DH who is pretty adamant about not doing it that way! My SIL, who has had lots of knee problems and several surgeries including a total on one of them, says this doc I'm going to this week is one of the best in the area. That was good to hear. -

How was the rehab, Shirley?? Did they make you do inpatient or outpatient? I guess I wouldn't mind a few days of inpatient, and there are two different PT facilities a block away from where we live.. maybe they'd send me to one of them for outpatient rehab. I'm thinking of doing them maybe a month apart. But they'd have to get me in quick because we have a 3 wk cross country train trip planned for the end of July. I'm not able to do much walking at all right now. I've been using an electric scooter for several years. It gets me around the mall, Wal-Mart, Costco, etc. Couldn't shop without it. Yeah, I'm worried aobut one shoulder, too... the pain is intermittent right now, but some days I can't stand my bra strap! And lately I've been hearing and feeling grinding in there. Ugh! -
WOW!! That is a GREAT report! We're all so proud of you! A fantastic accomplishment!!

Janet, Where are you?? Karri???? Are you home yet??? We're waiting for weekend reports from both of you! I lunched on Costco samples today. Everything was Mexican! Now I'm going to cook some seafood stew! Yeah!! I get to cook today!

You know what.... acknowledging that you HAVE issues is the first and most important step in dealing with them. If only our DD could get to that place, maybe we could begin to resolve some things!! Yes, we have pretty high numbers here, don't we??!! I keep worrying that Alex is going to cut us off because we have too many pages and too many posts!! Hmmm... we've got to get you on this Wii bandwagon!! My sister just told me that she thinks tomorrow is the last day you can order the Wii Fit online. She is in Buffalo NY and unable to buy a Wii after looking for several weeks for one for herself, and my Mom wants one! She's 86!! So now she thinks she's going to try to buy one (or two) on eBay! Jeans... I am wearing jeans since January... for the first time in many years. I don't like to talk sizes either, especially since some of our dear ones here are getting in to 12-14 and smaller!! But, I was wearing 3X-4X when I started all this, and no chance of getting jeans on. Now I can wear a 1X or 2X in cotton knits, 26 in jeans. The jeans I'm wearing I think I got at Wal-Mart for $10!!! My problem is they are tight in the thighs and loose in the waist & butt. I think Janet ordered a pair on QVC that were custom made.. you take your measurements and they make them to fit. I'm not ready to invest much money in my clothes while my sizes are changing though. Do you think this will get us past the 666????

You're sweet! I haven't yet experienced being too tight... think I'm in a good place right now. And I can relate to your knee problems. I've had a partial replacement on the right... several years ago.. like about 2002, I think?? I saw an orthopedic surgeon last week and was hoping maybe a partial would "fix" the left, but after looking at the x-rays he says I need a total on BOTH! Not the news I was hoping to get! In the years preceding the first knee surgery, I had both steroid injections and halagen. I know many people get months of relief with the halagen, but I really didn't get any benefit from them at all. The steroid injections, on the other hand, relieved my pain for quite a few months...maybe six even. The injections themselves, while not a walk in the park, are not nearly as painful as you anticipate. I hope you get some relief from them. -
I don't want to do it until DH gives it his blessing and he's still dragging his heels. Thinks I'm spending too much money! I'm wondering how valid their estimated shipping date is, too, being that there seems to be quite demand and they're already projecting a "shortage"!! That's why I want to order it ASAP! DIL ordered hers a couple of days ago... for her birthday! DS is protesting... says she shouldn't know what her birthday present is a month ahead of time! But she says last year HE ordered the propeller for the airplane he is building (which finally got moved out of their garage yesterday) THREE MONTHS before HIS birthday! I told her... as the saying goes, "turn about is fair play"!! BTW, he's been building this airplane for almost 12 years I think, and it's going to be ready to fly within the next month or so. Jacki, Do you think this will get us to the next page????

Well, NOW I noticed the page number!! Hey!! You need to demand your rights, woman!! Tell those turkeys it's YOUR TURN!!

I think the boxing is the hardest! I have a hard time controlling where my punches are hitting. Haven't quite figured it out yet. Practice when the kid is at school until you get really good at it and then beat his butt!! I think I'm going to order it there, too. I read an article on the web that says they're already projecting a shortage of it and it's not even released yet! Wal-Mart will give you a $10 gift card, too, if you pre-order from their site. Hope you get a chance to "play" today!! I love the bowling, and I'm getting pretty good at golf, too. Grilled chicken wrap.... I think they're only about 250 calories. That was probably the best choice you could have made at McD's....and a few fries... don't beat yourself up! You did pretty good! Funny... everyone is getting in to the Wii!! It's really fun. It keeps track of the minutes you use it each day. I like that. Took me a few days to figure that out.
