    Scared of Vomiting

I didn't throw up at all. They gave me anti-nausea meds in pre-op and again after surgery. Sent me home with meds for nausea and I didn't need to take them. Are you diabetic? Pre-surgery I got a woozy, naueous, faint feeling if I didn't eat something every few hours. I think it was a problem with my blood sugar dropping. I've not had that feeling since surgery. Didn't have it during that 1st week after when I had a hard time getting liquids in let alone Protein. Now I do eat about 6 times a day. Was just told today to up my cals a bit. I was at 600-800/day and NUT wants me at 900-1000. I do aim for 90-100 g of protein/day now and that's not a problem. I basically eat protein 1st then there's not room for anything else. Good luck!
  2. Can now wrap a normal size bath towel around me when getting out of the shower without a huge gap exposing me Meds have gone from 9-10 pills a day plus insulin to 2 1/2 pills and no insulin. Fitting into clothes that had been in my closet unworn for years. No cravings for fast food or candy! Being able to get down on the floor and up again with no problem.

sit up when can i start doing them?

I was cleared for all exercise including anything involving your "core" at 6 weeks but also told if you start doing something and it really bothers you in a something is not right sort of way to hold off on that particular move.

    Vitamins question

I take 1 chewable multi-Vitamin Celebrate brand once a day. Did 2 a day during the pre-op diet. After surgery they said 2 Flinstones Chewables can replace the 1 Celebrate multi, Also 1 B-12 sublingual per day, Celebrate brand also. My Dr does not start calcium until 3 months out. Took Iron during pre-op but don't take it right now. Can't remember if he adds it back in a 3 months or not but did read it's best not to take Calcium & Iron at the same time.
  5. I think there were 5 bariatric pts on my floor. All had surgery the same day by same Dr. Many of the staff from nursing, unit techs and housekeeping staff had also been sleeved. My son was in and out during the day as I was napping on and off after surgery. Staff would come in the room and he would say to me "did she have it too?" with a smile on his face since I kept telling him everyone who had been through it already:)
  6. Glad you let someone know about that fool.
  7. Congrats on your loss! So how did you do it since you mention you didn't do it the "traditional" way?
  8. Congrats! I look forward to being overweight

    Stress Test

I had one a couple of years ago unrelated to WLS. They actually stopped the treadmill test after a short time as my heart rate went up too fast. Ended up having a Lexiscan about a week later as a subsitute where they take pics (MRI-like) then inject you with something that replicates walking on a treadmill (speeds up your heart) and then take more pics. Hope you can just do the treadmill test!

    Restaurants and gastric sleeve card

I got a card from my Dr but haven't tried to use it yet. Haven't actually eaten out since my surgery which is saving me money as I use to eat out ALL the time!

Help! Hungry after 1 1/2 weeks

2 protein shakes probably won't make you feel "stuffed". The protein is great since protein helps so you're not hungry. The feeling of restriction will be more obvious when you are eating solid protein. Liquids don't stay in your stomach as long. Cravings can be part of head hunger as opposed to actual hunger. Good luck!
  13. If you continue to follow your plan the scale will move again. Bodies need to adjust after dropping lbs. 32 lb loss in 2 1/2 weeks is huge! Great job.

    Help a newbie with TRACKING!

I understand! I kept a food calendar for the 1st 4 weeks then went exclusively to MFP. I found it easier as I was adding more foods into my meal plan and could see the sodium levels even though I wasn't keeping track of it. Went a bit overboard with chicken broth for a few days there
  15. Hope you get an "all good" report at ER. My upper back/left shoulder pain was gas pains. Was so glad when it dissapated.
  16. The edges that peeled up I cut off carefully with small cuticle scissors. By my 2 week check up I only had a small part left on 1 incision and the Dr said you can remove that last piece when you shower tomorrow.
  17. I stayed 1 night in the hospital. Got home and slept on and off the next 2 days:) Didn't drive til day 5 just because I was all set at home and didn't have to go anywhere. I still took a nap most every afternoon for the 1st week. Guess I was catching up on sleep!

    Hows your diet?

That does seem like a small amount but we are all different. I can eat 1/2 cup of soft foods like cottage cheese, refried Beans or 6 oz yogurt, 2 low fat 50 ca each pieces of string cheese, tuna in the pouch, 2 oz of Boars Head (deli) chicken, 2 oz of fish or 1 egg as 1 meal. Just one not all of them at once:) So alot more than 2 spoonfuls. Not cleared for beef, pork, or nuts yet. 7 weeks out. down 40 lbs.

    Nerve issues under left arm

Will be interested to hear what you find. I've had a twinge like feeling in my left upper arm on a few occassions in the last few weeks. Had never had it pre-surgery. I've not had back or neck injuries but do work 12 hr shifts on a computer. Nothing I've felt the need to check with my PCP yet even though I work for them. But may mention it when I work Friday. They're used to me asking lots of questions I'm guessing they'll tell me I work too much as I often work 50-60 hrs/week.
