Good luck to everyone tomorrow! I was told no polish, not sure about acrylics. Had to remove mine 3 yrs ago when I started working for a hospital But with all this protein the last couple of months my nails are growing like crazy.

I must be the only one who can't drink the Premier Protein RTD Have tried but even when I shake, shake, shake it the texture is what gets me. Too thick and glunky. Have tried about 4 brands of RTD and haven't found one yet. Loved the fruity Nectars before surgery. Not so much after. Do like the vanilla and splendour chocolate unjury with skim milk. Added PB2 to the chocolate one today. I tend to stay away from bars as they are too similar to candy bars for me. Do not want to start eating multiples! I do keep a box for back up if I know I'm going to need something during the day or on the way home from work.

Last night was a BAD night :-(
MIJourney replied to snsgreeneyedgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had upper back and shoulder pain due to the gas pumped into me during surgery. It didn't matter what position I was in. I slept in my bed on night 2. It was painful on incision area when getting in and out of bed. Sorry you felt sick but great your guy is on the ball On a side note- Just noticed an ad for office supply company quill.com featuring a tin of free Cookies with purchase. Odd site for them to buy an ad on or THAT ad anyway. -
Welcome & it's another beautiful weekend!

MIJourney replied to Bizzness81@aol.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job!! -
Sorry your Dr is a butt. They aren't all like that. I could do the pre-months thru my Bariatric office but went thru my PCP since I work there. My PCP is the one that suggested the sleeve for me.

Haven't had a lot yet but have been putting Frank's Red Hot Sauce on my refried beans with no problem. Also have tried salsa and salsa verde. All good!

After Surgery Exercise time off?
MIJourney replied to spiritedcowgirl63's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I was told to hold off on exercise that involved the "core" for 6 weeks. -
Measuring by weight or volume?
MIJourney replied to artymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use both. I have a food scale when measuring my Boars Head (deli) 2 oz of chicken but 1/2 cup when measuring refried beans. Just depends so I can keep track in MFP. -
How fast do you drink your protein shakes?
MIJourney replied to artymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ready to drink protein drinks took forever just because of taste and texture and I have no problems getting liquids down (except water). If I have a protein shake now I use 8 oz of skim milk and Unjury protein powder. Those I can drink at the same rate I could pre-surgery. My Dr said it's not a problem to drink at same rate as pre-surgery if it works for me. Granted it didn't work this way at first but has increased over time. -
Looking for "buddies" in Michigan, more specifically Grand Rapids area...
MIJourney replied to Gardengirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery was at North Ottawa Community Hospital in Grand Haven. He has an office there too. They hold 2 nights but I only stayed 1 night. Just wanted to sleep in my bed even though it was much easier using the hospital bed to get in and out of. Smooth recovery as recoveries go. Msg me & I can answer more detailed. -
Diabetics who got sleeved....
MIJourney replied to ccaramel27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The Dr said the diagnosis will always be there even if numbers are controlled by the weight loss, proper nutrition & exercise. I would guess if someone doesn't make those changes in their life numbers could creep up. -

Diabetics who got sleeved....
MIJourney replied to ccaramel27's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Type II Diabetes Was taking 2 Kombilgyze (like Metformin) 15 units of Levemir (insulin) 1 night in hospital and am still taking 1 Kombilglyze and no insulin since I left. Was taking other meds totaling 9-10/day plus insulin. Now taking 2 1/2 pills. Figure those will be gone sooner or later! -
You look like you lost more than 79 lbs and I love your top in your skinny pic!

You cant be serious!
MIJourney replied to mrsplusamericajacksonville's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They have you at 300 cals/day at 2 months out? I know all plans are different but it seems very low. I'm almost 2 months out and was just told this week to increase my 600-800/day to 900-1000/day. -
