  1. I had my surgery in the U.S. but spoke with a gal locally who went to Mexico and was seeing a local bariatric surgeon (not mine) for her follow-up care. I don't know if she set it up pre-surgery or when she got home. She's a year out. So maybe check around in your area?

I was cleared for lettuce & raw vegies at 6 weeks. Haven't tried either yet.

    Medical Leave

I took 2 weeks off which was fine for my job. I work in a Drs office. Probably 60/40 desk/running around but work 12 hr shifts. I'm glad I had 2 weeks off but could have gone back a couple of days earlier.

    before surgery and after

    WOW! Great job!!
  5. I had no problem swallowing my meds but the Dr did take me off several of them at the time of surgery. They told me which ones to take when I got home.
  6. I've tried that too Hoping one day I can drink it again.
  7. I'm jealous you can drink 80 oz of water a day. I keep trying to drink water and it just feels like a brick. I can drink skim milk, decaf/protein cocoa or hot chicken broth but water which I loved pre-sleeve is a struggle.

    Calorie Intake?

Protein is very important. I'm 2 months tomorrow and at 6 weeks was 500-600 cals and goal of 60-90 g of protein. At my 6 week appt which I didn't have til 8 weeks due to my work schedule the NUTsaid 900-1000 cals. I aim for 900 cals and 90 g of protein but often go over my protein number.
  10. I gained in the hospital too. Didn't get on a scale til a week later so don't know the exact number I gained but could definitely tell when trying to button my shirt to go home. You WILL keep losing

    Ostrim Jerkee

Have had beef jerky several times over the years prior to surgery and liked it. Just not a regular thing I ate. So thought I'd try the Ostrim Teriyaki Jerkee. 2 pieces with 60 cals and 10 g of protein. Good snack right? I did finish one piece and wrapped the other piece back up. I just kept thinking of ostriches running around:( Don't do that when eating other protein so why the ostrich???

    Citrus

Fruit (other than applesauce that was allowed earlier) was added on my 6 week visit. I've still not had any fruit since I don't have room after my protein.
  13. What are you drinking calories and grams of Protein per day?

    6 Month Surgiversary

SUPER job and results! You must be on cloud 9!!
  15. Did you lose 22 lbs the 1st 2 weeks then? If so that's a large amount and your body does need to readjust. If you're following your Drs orders you will start losing again soon

    Full fat, low-fat, or fat-free?

    Be my guest!

    Full fat, low-fat, or fat-free?

I'd check the nutrition labels. I've come across some fat-free that is more cals than the low-fat, etc... I'd love to kick them all to the curb but haven't yet. Everytime I see sugar-free or fat-free I think "sh*tstorm of chemicals" Maybe someday.
  19. The unjury has a sampler on their website. See previous poster link. I started with the sampler and then just re-ordered the 17 serving size tubs. I also did the nectar sampler, Roadside Lemonade was was pre-surgery fav.
