    Off track.

We share a sleeve date! I'm not trying too many new foods yet. I do 6 mini meals a day. Some stand bys for me are hot choc /decaf (15g) . 2 light mozzarella string cheese (12g). Chobani Lemon Greek Yogurt (15g). Boars Head Ever-roast deli Chicken 2 oz (13g). Al Fresco chicken sausage (14g). Morningstar Spicy Black Bean Burger (11g).1 pouch tuna/1/2 c 1% cottage cheese (31g). Gortons Simply Bake Tilapia (20g). Unjury protein powder 1 scoop/8 oz skim milk (29g) and sometimes I add 2 T of PB2 which brings it to 34g. Each one of these standbys is 1 mini meal for me. I don't have room for anything after eating it. Don't eat them all on the same day but keep my cals under 900 for the day. I shoot for 90g a day. Good luck with your journey sis! Sorry for the run on paragraph. My enter key is not working ONLY on this website. Hopefully tech will get it figured out as it does curtail me from posting as often as I like.

    Graham Elliot

Cool! Will be fun to watch the next season of Master Chef to see his transformation! Was thinking he should do something when he was walking out of the ocean during the surfer food challenge a few weeks ago.

Protein Powder & Hot Cereal Problem

Make the cereal 1st and add the protein powder after?
  6. I have the same issue. Have tried it cold, warm, room temp, with crystal light, mio, etc... Just doesn't sit right. I used to drink lots of room temp water all day at work. I hope it just clicks soon and can drink it again. I can drink hot decaf coffee or hot decaf tea with no problem. Go figure.
  7. Mine started with the 1st visit with the bariatric staff. surgeon, nut, exercise person. The interim monthly visits I did with my PCP as it was easier for me to see than scheduling with bariatric office. 6 complete months meant 7 visits total.
  8. You look amazing!!!!!!!!! Great job!!

    A whole lot of Protein!

My protein range per NUT is 60-90g/day but I shoot for 90 minimum and exceed that on many days. During my pre-op phase I was hitting 100+ on most days. It does wonders for my fingernails and hair:) Good luck!

    Some motivation please

Do you eat protein first and feel no restriction after a few or 3-4 ozs?

    Day 2 since surgery....

You'll feel a bit better each day!! Honest!! It's rough at first but it won't be long before you feel like you never went through surgery

    I need someones opinion

The amount billed by hospitals, drs, etc.. is usually higher than ins companies pay anyway for any services even regular appointments with a PCP. I don't get billed for that difference. The provider or facility absorbs it. Just the insurance biz I guess. So self pay patients usually get a lower rate than insurance bills.

    What is your biggest vice?

I used to freeze regular lemon yogurt years ago but it was hard and icy. What's your recipe with Greek yogurt?

    3 days post op

My 1st few weeks I was not near the marks for protein or water. At my 2 week apt my NUT said it's really hard to do and just do what you're doing and it will improve with time. More important to stay hyrdrated than to get the protein in the 1 week. SF popsicles helped me out

    I need someones opinion

My thoughts exactly! There would have been no need for anesthesia and a hospital stay if I hadn't had the surgery. My Drs office has not had this happen before either. The surgeon bill was 7000.00 and I already paid my 1000.00 out of pocket to the hospital. Crossing fingers til I hear back.

50 pounds down, 100 to go

Great job!!!!!!!!!!!! Your surgeon should be thrilled with your loss.
  19. This too shall pass. It gradually goes away. Just make sure sips are tiny for now. I can drink pretty much as before surgery now with the exception of water but hope that improves soon. And that's not due to pain, just a heavy feeling in my sleeve.

    I need someones opinion

I called my insurance 7 months prior to surgery just after I went to the WL seminar and was told bariatric surgery was covered under my contract. My surgeons office also received written approval prior to scheduling my surgery date. After surgery I found they covered the hospital, anesthesiologist and pathologist but denying the surgeon bill. They also covered 6 months of dr appts, psych eval and other required steps. I have filed an appeal.

    spaghetti

Have not had pasta, rice or potatoes as they take up volume with no little to no protein. When you're cleared for cooked vegies maybe try spaghetti squash?

Sleeved on Jun 20/2013...lost & sad.

Are you tracking your intake on MFP or something similar? I always eat protein 1st. After that I've not had room for vegies or fruit. Haven't had any since surgery. Was only cleared for lettuce at 6 weeks. I do know all Dr/Nut guidelines are different on this. Good luck with your journey! Let us know how you're doing.

    two month follow up today

I find it interesting when surgeons and NUTs are giving different info to pts. Are they not part of the same team? Seems like they'd coordinate a bit more on these things. Congrats on your loss!! I do miss carbonation in my life, happy you can have it. I can only have flat pop which is not appealing at all so have not had any. Sorry for the run on paragraph as my enter key is not working on this website only. What's up with that?

    When could you eat nuts?

Have not had any yet but was cleared at 6 weeks but told only on occasion due to calories and fat.
