Great job! Big difference in your pics! -
You can search homemade beef broth on the database. It will give a few options. Most are in 1 c increments I think but you can change that.

Do I count the calorie's & such if I can't keep it down?
MIJourney replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't thrown up yet (knock on wood) so don't know the right answer on that one. Seems if it all comes up within 10 mins you're not retaining 100% of the calories. I do have a guideline for water/fluid intake 64 oz, protein 60-90g and cals 900-1000. I do aim for 90g of protein and maximum 900 cals but often go over in protein and under in cals. All drs are different with their plans of course. -

AWESOME job! Sounds like you're eating the right things. Are you getting close to goal? I'm still pretty much eating protein first and haven't had room for veggies, fruit or anything else.

Young Children Visiting Post-Surgery
MIJourney replied to miss_cee85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question! It doesn't apply to me but after my surgery I'm sure I looked like hell as I felt pretty out of it. My adult children got to witness that...poor kids I went home the following day. Not sure if I'd have brought young kids in to visit. If it's close by maybe you can decide after surgery and see how you feel. -
Sounds like you're good then! Just keep in mind those are empty calories but I'm guessing it was just a vacation thing?
-
I'm sure you didn't stretch your stomach but I'm guessing you're referring to alcohol at 10 days out? All drs are different but did yours not give you guidelines for alcohol?
-
ok... scale has stopped moving.
MIJourney replied to Gwendallyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You've lost a large amount of weight in 2 weeks. Great start. Weight will keep dropping if you keep following your plan. You may not see a drop every day or every week even but it will continue. Your body is still healing from major surgery and needs to adjust every so often to dropping the lbs. Good luck on your journey! -
Right now I'm on B-12 and 1 multi-vitamin that I take in the morning but not on an empty stomach. I don't start calcium til 3 months out.

Day 3 post op. what do i do?
MIJourney replied to Alys3129's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 3 days out I was taking my vitamin in the morning and just drinking whatever I could whenever I could. I was still sleeping a lot on days 2 & 3 with naps that 1st week. I was not getting my protein numbers in but was sipping as much as I could so I was not dehydrated. Mostly chicken broth, nectar protein and sf popsicles. -
How long does the surgery take?
MIJourney replied to alobri's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was told it was approx. 1 hour for surgery. I think mine went to 90 mins as they did a hernia repair once they got in there. -
All drs/nuts are different of course. I was cleared for all food at 6 weeks. Still haven't tried many things. How much protein are you getting in per day. My nut goal is 60-90g but my goal is 90g minimum. Have not tried bread, potatoes, pasta or rice yet as they don't have any protein so to speak and swell up in the stomach. By eating my protein first I really haven't had room for much else and it's kept any cravings at bay. Good luck in your journey

Coffee! Is there a medical reason why they say no regular coffee?
MIJourney replied to chapasmamita's topic in Food and Nutrition
The acid in coffee can irritate your stomach lining which is still healing for at least 6 weeks and can trigger acid reflux as well. All drs have their own rules on it. I'm on decaf right now. -
