    Coffee?

I had to stop caffeine prior to surgery so switched to de-caf. I have a cup with hot chocolate protein each morning. 80cals and 15g of protein.
  3. I loved the Syntrax Nectar's prior to surgery but not so much after surgery. I tried a few different pre-mixed but didn't care for any of them. Then ordered the Unjury sample pack http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/review/product/list/id/184/?limit=20 which I really liked. Everyone has different tastes.

    Crazy leak ?

When I asked my Dr he said it should not be a worry after 6 weeks as long as you follow the plan. That being said there was a post on here last week about someone who developed one at 6 months. Not sure if there were other circumstances involved with hers or not.
  6. Beautiful! Congratulations on your progress!!

    protein shakes..... how long?

I still have 2-3 per week. Dr said goal is to get as much protein from food as possible when I could. There was not an exact date timeline on that but after I was cleared for most foods at 6 weeks.
  8. How many cals and grams of protein are you getting per day? 41 lbs in 2 months is great:)
  9. not to off topic here but I've been having the same problem and have asked Alex/tech for help but nothing has been resolved. It's a PITA since I don't want people to have to read my run-on posts.

    Hair Loss

If you go to the forum home page and search hair loss you'll see many threads on the subject which will give you any idea of what people have dealt with. Short answer- seems more people than not deal with some hair loss in varying degrees starting at 3 months out. I'm not quite there yet but do anticipate it. I shoot for 90g of protein a day and know it helps my nails so will see about the hair:)

    8 MONTHS OUT

    Fantastic!!
  14. Day 2 sucks! I totally agree. Each day gets better and better. Honest it does. I think day 5 was the 1st day I went to run an errand. Not a big trip but really started feeling better after that. By 2 weeks out I was back at work & feeling pretty normal. Now I don't even feel I like had surgery:) Good luck with your journey!
  15. Totally normal for many people. I waited 2 weeks to get on the scale after surgery. I KNEW I had gained in the hospital just by the way my top fit.

    Post op preparation....

Check with your Dr/nut too. I wasn't allowed any hard candy for 1st 2 weeks for sure. It may have been longer. Would have to check my notes.

10 weeks and can barely eat

I'd check in with your Dr. At 10 weeks out life should be getting easier for you not more difficult. How much are you eating a day? Protein and calorie wise? I've not had any nausea and can eat my serving size of protein. I shoot for 90g of protein and under 900 cals a day and have no problem hitting those numbers. Hope they figure it out for you.

    Help with my fitness pal

I'm not a good one to explain it but when you search for a food it gives you several options. It will show you the nutritional info on each option when you click on it so you can find the one that best matches what you're eating. After you add an item to your diary it will keep it in a list for you so you don't have to search each time. Then if you look at your food diary or summary it shows the amounts of carbs, protein, etc.. along with calories.

    Post op preparation....

Some form of protein. I used Nectar Syntrax but honestly did much better with it pre-sleeve than post sleeve. But you should have some sort of protein so when you can, it will be there. SF popsicles and chicken broth got me through the 1st week. Water was hard for me with or without crystal light. Yesterday I finally drank about 10 oz of water while working a 5.5 hr shift. That was the most water I've got in a one time so far,

Surgeon trying to talk me into band.

Many sleeve pts take a PPI (for acid) daily after surgery to aid in the healing of the stomach lining. All for different lengths of time it seems.

Surgeon trying to talk me into band.

Can you get a 2nd opinion from another Dr? Maybe he's done more bands and that's where his comfort lies?

    Broke 300

    Great job!!!
  24. The 1st week for many is difficult to get the goal number of liquids and protein in. I know mine was deficient in both categories. I was told at that time to concentrate on liquids so you don't become dehydrated and not to worry about the protein as much. Just do what you can do:) It will get easier as the weeks go on!
