    2 days

Try not to worry. I was so looking forward to when they put me out so I could sleep as I worked 12 hr shifts Mon & Tues with surgery early Weds. Your team will go over your foods/vitamin regime. I only take a chewable multi-vitamin & B-12. At my 3 month follow up is when they add Calcium but my labs came back great so I'm only taking 1 calcium every other day instead of the 3 daily. Will redo that lab in 30 days to make sure it's still good. Just think in 1 short week you'll be done with it and starting to feel a whole lot better Good luck on your journey.

Sorry to hear this. Insurance is not fun to deal with:( Hope someone can help you with this.

    why

I could only do refried beans at first. But my nut said if you use black beans and puree them like a hummus they were ok too at the stage that I could have yogurt, cottage cheese, etc...But no baked beans at that time. I think it had something to do with fiber.
  5. All sounds very normal. It can be difficult for many to get fluids and protein in the 1st couple of weeks. Concentrate on liquids so you don't get dehydrated. It gets easier each day and week to come.

    eating between meals

I eat protein 6 times a day. Total cals under 900 and at least 90g of protein. All ok with my dr/nut.

    loosing to fast?

I looked at your profile and am guessing you have not updated your numbers. How much have you lost since May 7?
  8. We all get different info from our Drs/Nuts. Maybe yours will clairify it more as you go along. I was at that earlier but at 3 month appt was told 1000 cal though I'm still at 800-900.
  9. You look great! So happy for you

May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?

61 lbs is not slow! Great job!
  11. I was in the hospital 1 night. My daughter picked me up after work about 5pm and brought me home and stayed a couple hours. I had everything I thought I would need ready for a few days. I slept ALOT the 1st couple of days home and then took naps the next few days. So all was good with no one staying with me.

    new thread

Here's a fairly recent thread on hair loss. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/91034-hair-loss/page__hl__%2Bhair+%2Bloss If you search hair loss in the search bar on the forum page you'll see many more. Most people experience it in varying degrees 2-3 months out.

    losing too quick?

Agree with normal but know that the loss may slow down or plateau periodically during your journey which can be fruststrating for many. Just stick with your program during those times and you will see the scale move again

    No restriction

You will probably notice more restriction when you start more dense proteins.

    Can you eat salads?

Might be the lettuce? I know I can eat them but just haven't tried yet. Maybe try again in a week or so?
  20. At 2 weeks out (same day I went back to work) I could do greek yogurt and cottage cheese. Granted the 6 oz lemon greek yogurt took a couple of hours to eat and the 4 oz cottage cheese about 30 mins or so. I just had them in a desk drawer and took a spoonful every now and then.

    Can you eat salads?

I've not tried a salad yet. When was your surgery?
  22. MIJourney

    Bread and rice

Haven't tried bread, rice or pasta yet. Haven't had room for veggies or fruit after eating the protein first.

    I need someones opinion

Update- I received in the mail a denial for my 1st appeal. Denied as uncovered. Just the surgeon's bill, not the hospital, anesthesiologists or pathologist. So today I was doing to fill out the forms for my 2nd appeal which would involve my employer. I checked Priority Health's website which I've done frequently since surgery and the claim appeared to have been paid??? hmmm I didn't want to get too excited. I had a 1pm 3 month f/u apt and confirmed with the office that PH had indeed paid the claim. They still haven't told me. Glad I didn't send in the 2nd appeal without checking:) Sure made my day!!!!!!
