  1. Just sent all of y'all invitations to join the group! So sorry about the long wait. VST wasn't sending me e-mail notifications saying that people were replying to this thread' date=' and I rarely ever check this site now that I'm so busy with the FB group. If you didn't receive the invitation I e-mailed to you, please let me know.[/quote']

Hey Khloe I still did not receive a request on Facebook my email address is aparker28110@yahoo.com

    Thanks!

  2. Oh my I didn't have any drains thanks heavens my pain was associated with where my band port was located so it was extremely tender and plus my doc took out fat. What were the drains for? Did everyone have them?

I didn't have the band, I had the sleeve so I'm not sure if all band surgeries do not require the drain or if its at the dr's discretion even with the sleeve but I did have the drain on my right side

  3. Thanks for the info. It has been in since last monday and I get it removed tues.

Wow! I only had mine in overnight while at the hospital they removed it before I went home...I did has a stitch into my muscle and 7 staples where the pump was...not sure I could've handled it in much longer...you will definitely be relieved to have that come out

  4. Speaking of the drain pouch' date=' how do they remove it. Do they just pull it out and what about the hole left afterwards? I cant wait for it to be removed.[/quote']

I had mine removed before I went home and yes they do just pull it out mine was pretty uncomfortable when it was coming out but was so happy to see it go!

  5. I had a great experience! I have not thrown up at all, had no pre op diet but was on liquids for 2 weeks following surgery and did have a drain pump...that's the only incision that has hurt at all! I'm 2 1/2 weeks out, had surgery on the 16th and am doing pretty good on puréed foods so far just have a hard time keeping the carbs under 30 but its all a learning experience and everyday get better...I'm down 21 lbs so that is definitely something to be proud of...go me!!!

  6. I don't know how.you're doing it! I get 40-50 oz liquid a day- my.normal day consists of a.protein shake- 2 oz cottage cheese.w/5-6 pinto Beans and sugar free.Popsicles. Normally no dinner..just.too full!

I'm making myself eat every 2 hrs as directed by my dietician...she said if we stay too far under 800-1000 calories that I can hit a major plateau and I didn't want that at all

  7. I was sleeved and had the hiatal hernia repair on the 16th and couldn't even look at Water or Protein without getting sick...yesterday I finally met...actually exceeded the protein consumption with 96 grams. What I did was 1 an oh yeah strawberry cream shake in the morning (32 grams) I at a string cheese (7 grams) 1/4 Wendy's chili (4.2 grams) 1 scrambled egg (6 grams) 1 scoop of chocolate whey Protein Powder (42 grams) with 8 oz skim milk (10 grams) 2 tbs. Peanut Butter (7 grams) with a couple of I've cubes and blended it was soooo good this gave me 46 grams of fat, 39 carbs, 97 grams of protein, 24 grams of sugar and 950 calories which is pretty good I would just like to get the carbs under 30 try a diet similar and it might make you feel a little bit better it definitely helped me as far as the water I'm still only able to consume about 30 oz and I have lost 18 lb my Dr said this was great...I know when I came home I had gained 8 lbs of water weight so are you counting that in you weight loss...I don't I waited until I got to the weight the morning of surgery to calculate any weight loss...good luck and please contact me if you need anything since we had surgery a day apart and both had the hernia repair we are in the same boat together

  8. I am 1 week out from surgery and feeling fine. Went for my first post-op appointment and was down 12 pounds. That is a total of 20 since my pre-op diet two weeks ago.

I am happy and look forward to some yogurt and Protein Shakes tomorrow.

I was 1 week yesterday and have my post op apt tomorrow...I feel fine just extremely tired...I returned to work yesterday! I'm still on liquids and shakes until next Tuesday I think that another reason I feel so tired
