  1. Question: Have you submitted your time off from work for the surgery? I'm trying to figure out how much time I'm gonna take off. I'm moving to do a short term disability claim... Some people take off 1-2 weeks .... Others take off a month... I wonder how it's determined....

  2. Hello Divalicious9700' date=' yay I am so happy that you have booked your endoscopy, one more of the list... getting closer and closer now for you.... yay...

I have got 6 weeks to go. I go and see my Dr again on the 5th june to get all the last minute details including times to be at hospital etc..

I'm very excited. It seems to be the only thing that I am thinking about at the moment. I'm looking forward to starting the journey to a smaller me and getting on with my life. Please let me know when you have your date, i'm sure that it won't be long at all now..

    Love Lily xo[/quote']

Good morning!!! It looks like you're well on your way!! I'm so excited for you! Looks like you're going to have your surgery before we do! I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience. I'm looking forward to getting back to my old size, since 2003, I've gained 100lbs. My knees are going to be sooooo relieved!!! Please keep me posted! I'll be here cheering and praying for you!!!

  3. Like you I am so anxious to get my surgery date and know that everything is a go. Do you have to be reapproved by insurance or will they use your other info from last time? I have a nut appt next week -

I think I will ask if they can give me some idea of a surgery date. Just want to keep up the forward motion!

Good morning!!! I have to meet all of their requirements then get an approval. Last time I didn't get far enough in the process to get an approval before I started getting negative feedback from family and friends... I only did the the psych eval and sleep study. That's why I get so excited about each step forward in this process :-) I have an appt with the dietician next Wednesday. Once June gets here, it's going to be down hill for us!!! July is right around the corner!!!! Do they give us our date before or after the approval?

  4. Hey Summer! Haven't heard from you in awhile! Are you going to the Support Group meeting this evening? I think I will actually be able to make this one....How's progress? I'm still trudging along - I'm finished with all my doctor's appts now (I think) and I'm trying to get used to my CPAP machine (of course I had sleep apnea!) so I just have nutrition classes and meetings with dieticians.....when I went to my nutrition class last week I had lost 2 more pounds so something must be working though it could just have been all the running around to doctor's appts and not having time to eat! Hope you are doing well!

Lol @ you calling me Summer lol I always said if I had a daughter, I'd name her Summer. Congrats on the 2 lbs!!!! That's great!!! I thought about you yesterday! I went to my first nutrition class. I got there alittle late but it was pretty cool. I meet with the dietitian next week then 2 more nutrition classes and that endoscopy and I'll be on my way!!! I'm still super excited!!!! Did you make it to the support group yesterday? If so, how was it? I may try to make the next one...

  5. Morning ladies! I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 19. I've always been told that if I lost weight it would help my PCOS. (At that time I was 150 lbs). I'm 34 now...weighing 255... Still dealing with passing polyps monthly and everything else that goes along with PCOS. I've had 3 failed IVF attempts and I'm currently in the process of adopting a little bundle of joy (being born this fall) I'm also going through the process of becoming a July sleever!! This is a very exciting year for me. I just wanted to suggest to all of you who want to become pregnant after fully recovering from surgery, please see a specialist ahead of time to make sure there are no OTHER factors preventing you from becoming pregnant. Fertility medicine stimulated my ovaries for me to produce 12 healthy eggs. But each time they were placed in my uterus, they would die... I was tested and found that I have high natural killer cells in my body and they reject foreign objects (organs, embryos) . Last year I tried getting an intralipid infusion to suppress my NK cells during the process but it still didn't work. As of now, I have 6 fertilized embryos left and decided to just adopt for now. I wish all of you the best of luck with on your weight loss journey and your journey to motherhood! :-)

  6. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. The last time I had it gone, I caught the devil trying to get that "****" out of my hair!!!

As far as Protein shakes goes, I actually like Isopure. I've been using that off and on for years as a Meal Replacement. So far, it's the only one that I can tolerate. Oh yeah... Those V-shakes are really good too...(Body by vii) and they're a pretty good source of Protein.

13lbs is a HUGE accomplishment!!! Congrats on that and keep up the good work!! I hope that I loose a few pounds before my next appointment!!!

    :-)

  7. You guys Terri and Sunshine' date=' how awesome that you guys found each other.. Same time , same place, being sleeved, that is so lovely.... Ohhhhh I wish you guys lived over here in oz, we could have all been sleeve buddies together lol <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> oh and hey to the above post, I'm July 2nd, so we are so close.... I just wish that the time could go faster now !!!!![/quote']

Lol Aren't you a sweetheart! We can still be sleeve buddies, you'll just be 2 steps ahead of us :-) you will be able to tell us what to expect :-)

  8. Happy Friday Sleeve Buddy!!!! Lol you are hilarious!!! I wish I could have had all of my appointments back to back! I have my next Nutritionist app on 5/14 @ 8:30am ( all of my appointments are early) Dietician 5/29 @ 8:20.... Nutrition 6/11@8:30 and Final Nut. 6/11. They said I don't have to do the sleep study this time. I have my Psych Eval on May 7th. I'm not sure when I'm going to have the endoscopy done. How was it? What do they do? I haven't had a change to go to the support groups either. This app feels like a great method of support. Who knew I would meet someone from my office AND with such a great personality!!!! Have you started the new start meal plan ( I can't remember the actual name of the plan) how's that going for you? So far, I'm having a hard time adjusting to the portion sizes .... I'm so used to counting calories versus measuring food lol I'm making changes slowly but surely! :-) I look fwd to chatting with you again! Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

  9. I believe my surgery will end up being in August also. In the process with all the tests and drs appointments now. My last appt with nutritionist is on Jul 15th. Just joined this site so haven't had time to add picture' date=' etc. I originally was going to do the lap band but my doctor talked me out of it! I'm so excited - can't wait to get this done so that I can get that "helping hand" to get myself back in shape and able to live my life the way I want to again. My name's Terri and I'm from Columbia, South Carolina.[/quote']

Terri, I think we will be getting sleeved at the sane time in the same place! Lol My name is Sunshine (Yes, that's my real name lol) my last appointment with my nutritionist is on July 16th and I am in Columbia SC as well. (Dr. Antoinetti) :-)

  10. I had my consultation about a week ago and they gave me a projected surgery date of July. I am seeing a nutritionist once per month through July and I have my Psych eval on May 7th. July seems like it's NEXT YEAR! Lol I started this process in 2010 and changed my mind due to my family thinking I could do it on my own... At this point, I decided not to consult with my friends and family... I only consulted with my hubby and he's fully supporting me. I'm very excited! July can't get here quick enough!!!

  11. Hi everyone,

I'm 34.... 5'2...255...BMI 46.6... I've always been around 140-150 pounds. Around 2003 I started gaining weight (PCOS). 2011-2012 I went through 3 cycles of IVF and gained about 20lbs from the fertility meds(Steroids). From 2002-2013 I've gained a total of 100 pounds. I've tried almost every diet known to man and typically loose 20-30lbs then gain it back after each diet (deep sigh) At this point I've decided to get help(WLS) I think that 10 years is long enough to battle this weight issue on my own. I want to be healthy and enjoy living an active lifestyle again. I started this process in 2010. I went in for a consultation, sleep study and psych test but my hubby didn't think it was a good idea so I changed my mind and decided to try it on my own AGAIN. After seeing my constant struggle, my hubby is now supporting me 100% in this decision. My Consultation is tomorrow????

    I'm looking fwd to:

    1)Crossing my legs

    2) My thighs NOT constantly rubbing together

3)Not being so winded during sex with the hubster ????

4)Being able to work out without being so self conscious.

5)Not having joint pains in my knees

    6) Feeling like my old self again

7)Being able to enjoy sports again (Jet Ski, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Marathons)

    8)Enjoying taking pictures

    9)Feeling sexy again. ????
