  1. Hi all!!! My surgery is scheduled for October 16th at Barix clinic in Langhorne, Pa with Dr Marymor. I am very excited.. I am currently on my 10 day liquid diet. Today being the 3rd day, I am experiencing severe "cleansing" while at work. This is bothersome to say the least. I am drinking my Fuzzy Navel protien shakes but prefer something more tasty as far as Protein. I made my own chicken broth as the store bought was bland. I am having a difficult time with this all liquid diet. Can anyone please tell me how many grams of protein I should be consuming daily before and after surgery???

  2. Thanks for the reply Justin. 'm so desperate to live again. All I do is go to work and stay in my house. People say I dont need the surgery but they are not me. I'm a hermit right now and at 43 yrs old I dont want to keep doing this. I cant wait to get these 2 final tests completed. Luckily I'm a medical assistant so I draw my own blood. lol.. and thurs I get the upper gi so I should have everything into Dr. Marymor by Friday. He said I needed to do a 10 day pre-op diet but I can have Jello and sugar free popsicles. I love bot of these item so the 10 days wont bother me. I want to get to 125. Im 239 right now. sleeping with the cpap is great but Im tired of it and its not sexy when I just got married 1 yr ago. So I look forward to joining the land of the living again.

  3. Met my new surgeon, Dr. Marymor today. I am soooo EXCITED!!! The entire staff from the receptionist to the medical assistant to the nutritionist and of course the doctorwere soooo welcoming. I felt really at home. The doctor is very straight forward. Explained everything and answered all my questions. I had 98% of the required tests already done so I just need an upper GI and an H. Pylori screen which are scheduled for next week. Then its submission to insurance. I cant beleive how thorough and experienced he is!! I am soooo glad I chose to change surgeons. I am very greatful for the replies I have received to my different posts. Dr. marymor said once he receives my results fr the last 2 tests, I will be scheduled for surgery in 4-6 weeks!! YAY!!!! I want to live again soooo bad instead of merely existing..

  4. Hello everyone. Has anyone had surgery at Barix Clinics?? I'm switching dr's and have an appoitment on Friday. Can anyone tell me how long it took from begining the proces to finally having surgery.. I have the following completed: 2 nut, 2 psych, 2 sleep studies (1 with & 1 without c-pap), colonoscopy, physical, lab worrk, chest xray all completed. Will be doing pulmonary function next week. If anyone can think of anything else please let me know. I have been working on this surgery since April and had to change surgeons due to his staff.. I am anxious an would like this surgery complete before the end of the year. Please give me some feedback

  5. Thanx Tinyone. I clld the pre auth dept n nothing. I then went to the dr's office n they admitted they havent submitted my documents bc the dr isnt performing surgery at his new hospital yet. I set up an appt with Barix clinic in Langhorne, PA. Im just concerned i may have to repeat things i have already completed.

  6. Hi all. I really need some help. I started out with the surgeon that performed my husbands surgery, but have lost cmplete trust in him and his staff. I researched Barix Clinic and they seem very reputable. I schedule an appt for next Friday the 29th. I have 2 nut visits, 2 psych visits, colonoscopy (lol), sleep study documents (1 with & 1 without cpap) I sleep with cpap every night (love it actually). I have BCBS Personal Choice PPO. I dont know what else I need or if I'm going to have to repeat anything. Can anyone please tell me he requirements that Barix has and how long it will take from giving them my documents to actually having surgery. I work a wierd schedule where some days are 12 hrs but I dont know which days so group meetings are difficult. Please, any information would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to hear from everyone

  7. Well im extremely pissed right now. I called my insurance company and they have no record of any wls document submission. I called my dr iffice n they are being shady so now i have lost trust in them. So im looking at Barix Clinic in Langhirne, pa. If anyone has used this facility i would love to hear from you. If anyone changed dr's during the process how did it work?? Do i have to now repeat all the steps. Im so disgusted!! Please give me some hope

  8. My surgeon works out of Virtua Health System in Voorhees, NJ. Dr. Yves Manigat is a very well known bariatric surgeon. He owns and operates Echelon Bariatrics center. I will ask many questions this afternoon. My appr is at 2:30pm. Im so nervous but super excited just thinking about my new life. Thank you all for ur support

  9. I have my consult with surgeon tomorrow. Soooo excited. I have all the required documents so im hopeful that he will submit to my insurance tomorrow. Im nervous though. I need this sleeve like i need air!!! Please pray for my approval everyone. Im so thankful for everyones replys. I will post again tomorrow after my consult. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

  10. OMG!!! thank you soooo much for your replies. I feel more at ease now. The med policy is a tad confusing in regard to bmi in the 1 or 2 step procedure coverage. I called the cust service number but the rep said WLS is covered but that it is dependent on a different depts approval. No help at all. But I am so glad I found this site. I plan on using Dr. Yves Manigat out of Voorhees, NJ as he performed my husbands surgery. My spouse had no problem as his bmi was 59:/ Now how many nutrition appts were needed? I only did 2 and the nutritionalist said that was all I needed. I also did 2 psych evals because nut said thats all I needed. Is there anything else you can think of that I need to do before submitting to avoid a denial? I am in Philadelphia, PA>

  11. Hello all. I have IBC Personal Choice PPO coverage in PA. I was wondering if anyone has this insurance and been sleeved. I have all my pre-op things like nutrition classes (2) my psych evals (2) my sleep studies and now been on c-pap for 1 month faithfully (actually love it), my hgbA1C is 5.9 so heading towards diabetes, excruciating foot pain and knee pain. I'm 5'6" 243 lbs so my BMI is not that high. I have my surgeon consult on the 8th of August. I'm so afraid I will be denied. Can anyone please tell me what to do to make this sleeve happen. I need help. The sleeve is my only hope. Dieting and exercise or diet pills dont work! I am tired of the yo-yo'ing weight. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  12. Hello all!! well I registered on this site yesterday and asked a couple of questions and got great feedback. Thank you all. Anyway, I went to see a bariatrician last night and he feels I have a great chance of being approved for my sleeve. This doctor actually performed the sleeve on my husband August of 2012. My husband was 477 lbs the day of surgery. Today my husband weighs 297 lbs. It hasnt even been a year!!! I am going to schedule my surgery for June but will be getting all my pre-op requirements completed prior to so that way I have all my ducks in order. I am soooooo excited.. This site really does give people confidence in going thru with the sleeve..I cant wait for my new life
