MMMmmm... As a prior brain tumor gal, I am not a big fan of the watch and wait method. I'd demand it be fixed, personally.
And it SUCKS that this happened to you. I am so sorry. -

Dunno. If someone isn't trying to force their beliefs onto me, I tend to gloss over it. It's no skin off my nose.
Agree. I just block those who offer me snarky prayers and a "blessed" day. The others...meh! To each their own.

3 1/2 years out here. My sleeve is just as restrictive as it was at nine months out. Slider foods don't slide with me, dense Protein overfills me, and it's rare that I can eat more than a half a cup at a sitting.
I'm no longer desperately hungry like I used to be all the time. For me, that's the best benefit.

No food funeral here. food isn't dead to me so no need to Celebrate or mourn it. When I decided to have surgery, I decided that I needed to get my head straight and that started with changing how I though about food.
I still enjoy it, I can eat almost anything I want, there was no reason to gorge on anything pre op and my decision worked out well for me.

@@LipstickLady Yabut! You're in Virginny! It's COLD cold up here. When I leave my Water in the truck overnight, I don't have any Water for the next day because it turned into a giant ice cube.
When we get those cold spells, I put my water in a cooler in my car. It tends not to freeze. But yes, it is a tad warmer here...
-
The cold is good as far as being on the go. (I work out of my car many days, so...) I keep Water in my car of course, but every day I pack a little cooler with cheese, Jerky, almonds, ham or turkey slices, whatever and throw it in the passenger seat. At the end of the day I put the perishables back in the fridge and pack them back up the next day.

I carry a handbag. You could carry a murse.

There is no such thing as a "cheat". You can make good CHOICES or bad CHOICES. Take cheat out of your vocabulary unless you are the banker in Monopoly.
I chose to stay on plan pre op and post. I was a martial arts instructor so I did exercise a lot pre-op, so I did ask my doctor for additional fuel. He allowed me unlimited veggies and one more lean Protein per day.
Good luck to you! -
I understand what you said it was someone else... He specifically said I'm blocking all newbies. To the people saying they are blocking newbies shame on you! Why be in a support group if youre here to shame people. End of discussion. Time to move on.
No, not "end of discussion". I didn't say I was going to block newbies, I said I was going to block newbies and ANYONE who comes in guns blazing and name calling. I am here to support people, not to watch someone give good advice and be called an a-hole for doing so.

Who is "he" and where did he say this?

It doesn't work on spelling errors like "Pusst cat".
I wouldn't get near ANYONE's Pusst.

Same here... I never saw the post from the newbie, this post wasn't about a newbies question. But rather about the OP observation of how a bugle if it was spelled correctly, would be on the diet plan. And then her following thought processes as she was unfamiliar with the snack food Bugles.
It was hilarious until it was sidetracked by people saying it was rude and mean etc. I am thinking to myself, how in the world is this mean and rude? Then someone comes along and has to knock our building blocks over and link this thread to another thread.
People If we can't laugh at the mundane and inane we create a generation of people that are requiring "safe spaces". Oh wait to late. The only safe space is the play pen at your Mama's, if you can't handle the real world, go back to that while those of us that have figured out how to survive in a "mean" world continue to get the joke about words and the hilarity that the lack of knowledge can cause.
DS performed 11/28/16. SW/HW 380 lbs.
Let's get married.

It was almost a year before my stomach quieted down. It was comical.
-
(So the OP is not from the Divided States of America. She truly did NOT know what bugles were.)
-
Just suck on it till it's mushy.
(That's what he said.)

You could perhaps purée the beagle. I mean he is protein....
My dog just looked at me funny....

You'd have to pull his teeth and remove his collar.

I was wrong. I was emotional yesterday and had a bad day. I didn't have my follow up diet plan and was struggling. I appreciate all the posts- black and white and flowery. I was defensive and need to work on that. I think the PM's from the other vets made me feel like I was being attacked... But it was just me being emotional about making a stupid choice. I know everyone was being helpful. Thank you. My apologies. Im new at this an need to take a breath. The last thing I want is to do this alone.

I appreciate the apology and I totally understand being emotional, hormonal and hangry post op. I sincerely hope you sent a similar message to @@Babbs . She didn't deserve your private message at all and the name calling is going to drive away those who can and want to assist you in droves.
-
I'm fairly certain none of the above is on the diet plan of someone who is two weeks post op.
Just sayin!
-
Are you having the surgery for them or for you?
The best/easiest way to stop the negativity? Stop talking to them about it. Change the subject. Tell them you appreciate their opinion but you don't care to discuss it further. Done. If the conversation continues, leave.
Easy cheesy.

I love this private message I just got from the OP. Like I really give a crap what anyone thinks of me. All these people who seem to have a problem with me could just block me, but apparently they are too afraid to say anything to me so, they have to PM the OP. And how spiteful is this?
Thought you should know that I got 6 private messages about you sounds like you're pretty negative everyone I think it's really important that you understand what these chat rooms and support groups are for not for being an a****** if anyone here needs to grow up with you
I call BS on that. She didn't have 6 people visit her profile yesterday so how did 6 people message her? The name calling tells the entire story here.

Question. I was craving crunchy... So I sucked on a few Bugles and a few pretzels...I turned them into mush. Is that OK??? My surgery date for sleeve was Nov 30. Thanks everyone.

I will make sure I follow up again tomorrow. Thank you!! My kids all think I cook better now. Lol. I think I'm cooking for the smell. I have done really well until this afternoon. It was 2 small Bugles and one tiny pretzel...I sucked on them quite a bit- pretty darned mushy! I understand that was a bad move I'm glad I asked. Thank you!!I'm surprised you didn't get an eating plan. I think I got mine three times orientation, the surgeon and the dietitian. Three weeks full liquids, two weeks puréed food then soft foods. I understand the wanting something crunchy even if you end up sucking it. Lol I have to cook food for my son and it smells so good. . I'm a cheezie freak, or hopefully ex freak.

So it went from a few bugles and a few pretzels to two SMALL bugles (I didn't know they came in sizes) and one tiny pretzel?
If you "sucked on them until they were mush", how'd that work on your crunch craving?
Anywho... good luck to YOU.
Had my first puréed food, somebody talk me down!

I dump. It's a good thing. Ice cream was my favorite thing -- no longer and I no longer WANT it so I don't miss it. Cream based Soups? NOPE. It actually repulses me because of dumping. Alfredo sauce. Hellz to the no.
Rice? Pasta? Nope.
Dumping is sucky and it helps me stay on track. I have a love/hate relationship with it.
