  1. Because of this website I had the courage to ask for no rice sushi. Would never have done that before. Of course they thought I was nuts, spent ten minutes asking chef if it was okay. He said it was and now I love to eat it like that. But now I have to ask for smaller width pieces. The are much to big to put in your mouth and chew. The seaweed is almost impossible to bite in half. I can have three pieces and take three pieces home for dinner. They are not nearly as long without rice.

    food for thought :)

  2. Plateaus are the worst. They definitely make you rethink everything. Like we might be the only people on the planet who had vsg and didn't lose weight. Truth is, it's just part of the process. We all plateau and there usually isn't anything we can do with it but wait it out. Our bodies just need time to catch up and not freak out that we are dying of starvation. My plateau was week three and I actually gained 2 lbs!! Scary! I stalled for three weeks and have now lost 20 lbs since.

Hang in there. I found by pushing Water I do better and I eat about 700 calories a day, 50g Protein. I feel better and I am healthier. That's all I know :)

    Hang in there!

  3. Wondering if anyone else has had issues with gout. I've had problems in the past but it only lasted a day or two. Last episode went on for two weeks until my foot was so swollen I couldn't put a shoe on. Went to dr, first Rx did nothing, second was prednisone. The prednisone is gone and so is swelling, but my foot is still very tender and must have lots of uric acid in it. I'm sure it's from my high Protein diet and all of the fish I eat now.

Any ideas or suggestions. Struggling with doing exercise when I can't even walk. And I am actually missing my fish :) - who woulda thought that would happen!!

  4. I sorta had the same problem the other day. Not flying but I was driving a long distance and hadn't planned for lunch. Stopped at the gas station on my way through towns and roamed forever before I found a lunchable. Great gas station choice. I ate the cheese and meat and tossed the crackers. Filled me up with a little to toss out in the next town. I have also bought Jerky, just chew and suck on it a long time. Great Protein choices. Keep up the hardwork. This is so going to be worth it. I already feel so much better.

  5. Hi everyone, my name is Jayme, my highest weight was 371, I weighed 354 the day of surgery, I had surgery June 28th 2013. I now weigh 325lbs, I've lost 29lbs since surgery which I just feel isn't as much as I thought I would lose. I had a two week stall in weightloss which was frustrating... I try to eat my Protein rather than do the shakes, I can't choke them down anymore. I eat several times a day, I can eat about a 1/4 of a cup at a time. I mainly eat fish, chicken, and lots of pico de gallo with avocado and lemon... those are my staple foods.

Ou look great. I had the stall too but you do start losing again. Just give it time. Just know that your face shows your weight loss. And if you're like me you can feel the weight loss.

  6. Surgery June 24th, surgery weight 331, current weight 306.

Eating about anything. Had eggs for b'fast, crab & cottage cheese for lunch, turkey meatballs for dinner. Can only eat about 4 T of food at a time. Can't stand Protein shakes, but drink 1 c of milk 2x day to get my Protein. Averaging about 55-60grams of protein, 600-700 calories.

Bad news, I've gained! I was at 302 about two weeks ago. So frustrating. I first gained from 303 to 304. Then another week goes by and today it's 306.

I've heard people talk about stalls, but its killing me. Hope it start going again soon.

I'm also hungry every two hours. Really really hungry. Can't Ben understand when people say thy don't get hungry anymore. You're so lucky :D

  7. Surgery on June 24th. Heaviest Weight: 331 Current Weight: 302 - all lost post surgery. Nearly 30lbs lost so far! My stomach feels great, very little pain after surgery. Most surprising thing - I am constantly starving. I can only eat 1 1/2 T of food at a time - like only 1/3 of an egg. Then I get really full and can't take in anymore, but within an hour I am starving. My Protein intake is terrible! I am so sick of the Protein Shakes, I could barf. I try to force myself to drink at least 1c of shake or Isopure, but it is so hard. I am probably averaging 25g of protein a day. BIGGEST QUESTION - How much can everyone else eat 1 month out??

  8. D, you're singing my song :). Just started my third week and can honestly say I can see my addiction to food for the first time. Before I would've had the desire and then just ate, not even realizing how powerful the craving was. Now I have to feel the craving and try not to fixate on it. I received a bookmark from the psychologist who did my pre-op testing that had the ten stages after weight loss surgery. The second was regret. I was so excited about the surgery I never thought I would regret it. But now, it's almost like admitting I won't ever get to loss myself in food again. Yet I know that I get to find me in the journey. I also have the same concerns with getting in enough Protein, but it sounds like tht is normal in the beginning. Our stomachs are jut to small to accommodate the grams. I am thinking about seeing a counselor to help support me in te beginning. Wish you the best of luck. Can't wait to see where ths journey takes us :)
